We found the one-way streets quite confusing for driving around…better to park and walk.
Power to the city went out for about one hour…only a few businesses actually had a back-up generator and/or candles but everyone seemed to take it in stride.

Beautiful, historic and young student city.
Beautiful, historic and young student city. Wish I stayed longer here! Museum of the Revolution explained the history and context of Leon so well, would highly recommend. Try some street food too like elote! The atmosphere is the city was the nicest in all of Nicaragua.

The old part of town is a quaint colonial place with a lot of restaurant options; I recommend the small food tour offered to see the market and learn about the different fruits and dishes. The location is perfect for a quick visit to the beaches that are less than 30 minutes away, you can catch a taxi easily there.

Cathedral is a trip of its own.
Cathedral is a trip of its own. Walking on the rooftops, and also try to visit the catacombs. Going down the cero Negro volcanoes is fun just a 30 min hike up. Nearby beaches are nice clean not crowded with plenty of activities to do.

If you have time, take a day trip to the Flor de Cana Rum Factory, only 45 minutes outside the city to the north. You have to schedule it .
Lovely colonial hotel, the former US embassy I believe, right in the centre of Leon. We enjoyed breakfast in the delightful shady courtyard and the staff were great, really helpful. Our bedroom had French doors onto the gorgeous balcony which we very much enjoyed sitting out in every evening in the rocking chairs (be careful which room you book, not all have French doors or windows ). The bed was very comfy.
The hotel itself is just 5 minutes walk from the central square. It has spacious double rooms with fans and air conditioning. The breakfast is hearty and plentiful. It is peaceful and above all the staff are exceptional. They will help you with anything you need. They organised our transport into Honduras and maintained in contact the whole time. I couldn’t recommend this hotel any more highly!
Excellent place to stay when in León!
The owners are sweet and take care of anything you need to know. You can book some tours at the reception.
No fuzz when checking in and the inner relaxation space is really nice. Nice clean rooms and shared bathrooms.
The area is quiet and still very close to everything in the city!
Had a very nice and relaxing stay here! ✌️✨
The pictures don’t do it justice - this was the perfect place to stay in Leon. The rooms and all communal areas were kept super clean at all times, and the staff took great care of everything in the property. We even got breakfast the next morning. We stayed in two of the rooms for 3 nights, and would highly recommend Wabi Sabi for your next stay in Leon
The dorm was big, with big lockers for every bed. There were also fans for every bed.
The hostel has a nice kitchen too, and they serve a good breakfast every morning.
It is very close to all the main attractions in Leon.
It was low season when I visited so the hostel was pretty quiet, but the staff was really nice and made my time there fun!
What a wonderful serene place full of history and colonial charm. We have stayed in literally hundreds of hotels around the world and this is in our top 3. I can give it no higher praise. Great staff and large well equipped rooms . Food and drink were very reasonably priced.Pool area was lovely.
Overall a nice property, it felt much cooler and shaded than other hostels we stayed at in Leon - so we were thankfully not boiling or overheating. The fan in the room was also powerful. The room itself was nice and clean.
The property is very centrally located and within walking distance of everything. The staff were great, I think it’s a family run place. The rooms all have aircon which is a blessing in Leon!
I love this hostel in Leon. I've stayed here before. The central location is great, the pool and central courtyard great too. The tienda at the entrance has everything I'd want for sale.
Everything: great location to visit historic Leon by foot , colonial style building with lovingly decorated interior patio, Amazing staff (young lady) and breakfast in the morning
