Although the hotel zone is centered around the experience of wealthy travelers, there is a real city with plenty of affordable options for entertainment. Plenty of great food options downtown with a surprising amount of vegan/vegetarian businesses. Plenty of options for cultural tourism are also present including tours to Chichen Itza and Tulum, as well as Museo Maya and the El Rey Archeological Zone.

The location where I stayed (hotel zone) was perfect it was right on the beach and on other side of the hotel across the street was little, local shops to get the presents for my family, friends and myself.
Better beach is at the top of the strip, it is clean no seaweed and white sand - Caracol Beach.
I booked all inclusive adults only, I ate mostly in my hotel it was enough food for me and everything was so tasty.
Getting around is very easy, they have a bus which routes back and forward on the strip Hotel Zone and to the airport. Ride $1.
You can pay in dollars, they prefer better cash. Make sure you have enough small dollar signs because everywhere you have to tip, but it is not so bad :) the cards also accepts.
Avoid areas which is remote, they have a lot of alligators and other creatures which you are not familiar with.

I stayed in downtown.
I stayed in downtown. The people were lovely and helpful, even when you don’t speak the language. They will do all they can to assist. I loved the atmosphere of Cancun, it’s very welcoming. There’s a huge array of food on offer and it’s very cheap compared to most other countries. There are restaurants and taco bars all over the area, and well as farmacies and supermarkets. The fruit is always fresh, they cook your food in front of you.I highly recommend Cancun, for single travellers or families. I’ve had a fantastic experience.

Cancun was overdeveloped thirty years ago.
Now all of that beautiful coastline is almost as bad, hi rise resorts, mobs of people etc.
We travel further off the beaten path to much better parts. Sadly development is starting there too……

very windy every day and so many bugs lots of mosquitoes I felt sick from the bites that I got from the mosquito
I actually left five days before I was supposed to go home because I couldn’t handle the mosquito bites anymore. They were very bad and they don’t spray the property. I was staying at at all for mosquitoes which they should be.
Cancun has beautiful scenery, beautiful ocean I just think where I stayed was way too far from everything
Too much money and taxes is cheaper than a taxi
Cancun’s gotten very expensive I wouldn’t go back
this definitely goes to the top of my list of all inclusive hotels. In my experience, all inclusive means reduced quality on food but Majestic definitely defied that tradition. i enjoyed everything about this hotel. They made my first experience to Cancun an unforgettable one. I am an avid solo traveler and extremely picky, but I’m happy to say that I will be back here …. and very soon! If I could give 27 stars, I would.
The room with the hot tub on the balcony is worth every penny
Cancun was our first destination, making Los Girasoles our initial accommodation in Mexico. We decided against staying in the hotel zone as it seemed unnecessarily overpriced to us.It was the right choice, Everything was clean and functionally furnished. The location is excellent as restaurants, ATMs, and bus stops are within walking distance. Definitely advisable if you're looking to stay in Downtown Cancun. They also offer breakfast of you want and a water refill :).
I like the style and set up. Ability to meet many different people, in a safe manner as well. I stayed in a single room and it was very spacious, comfortable, and close to a lot of thing. They also offer a lot of amazing adventures (extra payment required) around Cancun and Mexico. The staff was amazing and super nice. Quick response to request. Highly recommend staying here if you visit the Hotel Zone in Cancun.
It's a beautiful hidden gem in the heart of Cancun downtown, away from the predictable hotel zone, with real people living and loving. The area has everything you'll need and has great connection if you're taking a tour or commute to the airport. Hotel has a beautiful garden with a pool, host is most gracious and helpful. Breakfast is delicious and healthy.
It was just incredible and for the price and to have all inclusive and the room that we ended up getting was just amazing! I’ve been to Costa Rica Jamaica Aruba Cancun Cabo in all inclusive resorts and this is the first one I booked myself so I didn’t think it would be great and I was beyond surprised how wonderful it was!
Location is great , buses run all day and night every 5 mins from right outside Brisas Apartments
Pool , beach sensational ! Room with sea view beautiful ! It’s not a 5 star hotel but it’s clean everything works and it’s an awful lot cheaper and we didn’t want to not leave a hotel for 2weeks we wanted to see Cancun
We were there only for one night to catch the bus the next day to the airport, as it's quite near to the bus station from where my brother had to catch an early bus to the airport. The person at the reception was a decent bloke. The room had a balcony. Cheapest hotel available near the Cancun ADO Bus station.
Great location away from hotel zone. Serene setting. Superb staff and facilities. All inclusive. Preferred club amazing. Clean rooms with comfy beds. Option for in room pool. Nice shower and amenities. Everything on site: activities, food, shopping, beach, large public pool. No need to go outside.
the property was great for an airport hotel, room was big and spacious and clean, the staff at check in where friendly and helpful, free shuttle to airport, great selection for breakfast, will always use this as my base when needing to stay over and cancun airport, very impressed
the whole hotel is new and nice, the food is definitely above average for an all inclusive hotel.
the french restaurant is the best (the Hibachi is overrated please dnt do the line to try it)
the cocktails are nice and the heated exhale pool was great!
The hotel was really close to the airport which was why we chose this. Would definitely not stay here if I wanted to visit Cancun for more than 1 night though. The room was big and nice bed and clean bathroom, didn't use the kitchen but it seemed nice!
It was a bit confusing when we arrived at the hotel it was closed ,but admin was waiting for us and taxi took us to a different Oasis Palm hotel with all inclusive. Hotel was very nice and big, food amazing and staff very kind and helpful.
The hotel is very beautiful, full of amenities, staff is super nice. The food is pretty good for an all inclusive, rooms are big, they allowed us to check in a bit early because we needed a quiet place to work. would definitely recommend
The hotel is downtown, right across from ADO, so perfect if you need to travel to the airport or are going on from Cancun. Also, the staff is exceptionally friendly, especially the waiters in the dining room.
We were travelling on a budget, needing proximity to the airport for an early flight. Basic room and relatively cheaper than other more refined airport hotels in Cancun - ok value for the price charged.
This hotel is conveniently located near the Cancun airport and therefore is great for a night stayover if you are traveling elsewhere. Rooms are comfortable and have good noise insulation.
This property was gorgeous and most of the staff was super friendly! It was clean and the food was amazing! We loved having an all inclusive. This was the best place we stayed in Mexico.
All inclusive is the way to go! Clean pool and beach, nice weather, great restaurants and great food. Will come again with family. Thank you to Occidental costa Cancun..
