Since we couldn’t find a large enough vehicle to drive us to the center (Zocalo) We walked from the bus station to the center (Zocalo) with our luggage. I believe it was a 45 min walk. I was amazed that we felt safe walking the streets of Oaxaca with our luggage on hand! Didn’t even get the awkward stare (which I would have done if I’d see some tourists walking with their luggage lol) Oaxaca felt safe to walk the streets. The food, the atmosphere, the culture, the people and other tourist made this experience a very unforgettable experience. We fell in love with Oaxaca! We will be visiting more often.

A beautiful historic city with lots of cultural events and interesting museums and shops. A lot of choice for eating cheap or expensive. The best location we found for Mexican traditional food was in a grand hall called Mercado de la Merced which is a 20 minute walk from the centre.
Av. José María Morelos 1522A, RUTA INDEPENDENCIA, Centro, 68000 Centro, Oax.
My biggest reservation about visiting this beautiful place is the surrounding streets to the Zocalo were gridlocked with traffic daily. All spewing out pollution which was irritating and harmful.

Loved Oaxaca city.
Loved Oaxaca city. The city center felt very safe, evenings at the zocalo were quite pleasant with many different types of music going on. We stayed a few blocks down from zocalo, in walking distance to the museum, a must, churches restaurants and lots to see. Food was delicious also. People were friendly. Loved our trip

Gorgeous city!
Gorgeous city! I loved the pink and green “Canterra” stones that make the old churches and historic buildings. I have been traveling in Mexico for 30 years and have never experienced the zero pressure to buy things like I did in Oaxaca! I never begrudge those that are selling things and am a great supporter of the arts, but I truly feel that they have it right with the zero pressure, it actually makes shopping a much more pleasurable experience…and oh my goodness…the food! It is a Mecca of authentic food…we’ll be back!
My husband and I were on our honeymoon. Nana Vida was actually a very last minute booking. We did not have any expectations, because we needed a place to stay ASAP. Nana Vida was exactly what we had needed in a hotel. The location is walking distance from the center of town, all of the best markets, and located in a safe, friendly, quiet area. The staff at Nana Vida were extremely welcoming, accommodating, attentive, and all around just kind. The atmosphere, hospitality, decorations, everything about Nana Vida was perfect.
The view from our superior room was exceptional seeing Oaxaca City as well as the beautiful mountain scape. The grounds were a lush tropical paradise with a beautiful large pool to sit by and dip into. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and a real plus there was always a English speaking staff member at hand. Having a new chef I guess was an improvement from what I gather. We had ea excellent veg. soup, Caesar salad, and the best guacamole around. Music and the view from the bar made it even more fun :)
Beautiful quiet place the pool/garden area were amazing. staff very friendly, breakfast was delicious. great location. we were able to walk a few blocks to the church/restaurants/bars/shops. food trucks nearby were the best. we booked tours directly with the front desk they even were able to convert our money into pesos. we set up transportation directly with the hotel from the airport and they assisted us with setting us up a taxi back to the airport. overall amazing place would book again.
The best part of this hotel is the location. It is central to downtown and a short 3-5 minute walk to Zocalo. A lot of the most popular attractions are located within the area and a maximum of a 15-20 minute walk. The hotel also smells amazing and we looked forward to that smell when we came back each day. The main area was beautiful. When we did eat at the hotel (mostly breakfast) it was delicious and presented well. Kitchen staff is top-notch.
super minimal design, smartly put together, great use of materials. right in the center of town but dead-quiet. there is no real on site staff or services, but they address any questions or needs via whatsapp right away. more like renting a room in a quiet courtyard than a hotel. but it was peaceful and comfortable and the best price in town.
This place is the best hotel in Oaxaca. Location, Breakfast, Cleanliness and The team that works every day to make you feels at home. From the beginning to the end of my stay I felt so comfortable and they constantly check how you are feeling and if everything is okay. I really recommend this place.
One of the best hotels we have stayed at in Mexico. very comfortable bed, huge TV,fast WIFI. There was even the ever elusive trifecta in the shower: hot water, large shower and great water pressure. Ana was amazing, she was responsive and gave great recommendations for restaurants.
this hotel was a gem. everything from location, to design, cleanliness, service,, breakfast, vibe hit the spot
it was the best of both worlds: the warmth of a home and the luxury of a hotel - they were very accommodating. highly recommend
We loved everything about this beautiful boutique hotel. Gorgeous rooms, amazing service, beautifully designed and a wonderful rooftop bar and adjoining cafe. The location was perfect too.
Great boutique hotel, a touch noisy next to the street and a little warm in the room, but the staff was extremely helpful and the roof terrace was very accommodating to work / hang out.
This hôtel is beautiful and located on a gorgeous neighborhood close to zócalo. The rooftop is as well very nice with pool and great view.
The employees were great all the time
Hotel is in a good location, only a 1 minuted walk from several restaurants and key locations to visit in Oaxaca City. Good room size and it is clean, hotel staff was friendly.
By far the best budget hotel in Oaxaca. A corner with free stuff (including Mezcal) and it is very quiet most of the time with everything in walking distance.
Everything. It is probably the best hotel I havr stayed at anywhere in the world. To name one thing it would be the friendliness and proactivity of all staff
