Just across the street from the Uxmal Pyramids, and a 40 minutes' drive from Merida. This historic resort offers an outdoor pool and a working plantation filled with fruit trees and jogging trails.
Set a 2-minute walk from the traditional village of Santa Elena, The Pickled Onion Eco-Boutique B&B features charming thatched bungalows, an outdoor pool and a restaurant.
Posada El Jardín is an eco-friendly property that offers free Wi-Fi in public areas, sun terraces by the outdoor pool, and a palapa that serves coffee for a fee.
Spent about 3 hours at Uxmal site. Lots of large sites to see and you can wander at your own pace. It was my favorite of the sites we visited on the trip. Tickets and entry could be clearer and signage at sites in Mexico is always lacking, but the quality of the ruins and architecture is fantastic. The scale, intimacy of the visit, and amount of ruins is superb.

To really get to experience Mayan culture, the near by towns and cenotes and more archeological sites I would recommend a week in Uxmal .
I loved every minute we were there .
I would also recommend having a much spending money as possible, not because things are expensive it is that there is so much to do and it will cost money .
Horse riding , vintage 4WD hire , the prices for the sites and tours has risen due to the pandemic .
Also supporting local artists .

The site is wonderful and the hotel was surrounded by orchards birds flowers amazing palms. A couple of small interesting local museums with animals local Mayan customs and chocolate cultivation. The Lodge restaurant which also belonged to the hacienda estate was a short walk and of a high standard.

We traveled by car because my older sister has specific food needs due to ALS. A blender, two boxes of food and a cooler were graciously hauled to and from our room by the hotel staff. They could not have been more accommodating and helped to supplement her diet with fresh food from the kitchen.
It was my sister's fifth and probably final trip to the awe inspiring sites of the Yucatan. We are so grateful for the experience.

Uxmal charges US citizen 4 times regular admission.
Uxmal charges US citizen 4 times regular admission. Hotel Uxmal Maya charges 33% more for using US money or cards. Do not go if you don’t want to feel ripped off. Nothing special about hotel as at every turn you have to be guarded about being ripped off.

The bed was very firm and the hot water took a little longer than I would like but everything else was just fantastic. The food was amazing the staff tried to help us find anything we were looking for. It was a nice welcoming place to stay
The hotel was great for our purpose: one night close to Uxmal archeological site. But it was also so close to the place of interest that we were able to visit chocolate museum and planetarium nearby. Hotel is rather big resort but the staff is friendly an very well organized and check-in and -out is very quick. If you have a room on upper floors - you have a beautiful view on the forest. The standard of rooms and facilities is basic but everything is clean and working. Very good choice.
Beautiful view from all rooms of the expansive jungle, the pool and tops of the uxmal ruins. The staff is amazing and kind! They take care of you! The restaurant and bar are delicious and reasonably priced. The hotel is so clean! Lovely large pool. There is also a basketball court, table tennis and pool table. A 20 minute walk on a path through the jungle to get to the ruins. They did an amazing job with covid protocols. Now is the time to visit this beautiful spot in the jungle.
Don’t bother driving to the Hacienda. There was no one there to help us. I had to read reviews here to find out the hotel they moved us to is The Lodge. That said, the hotel was very nice and is a 30-second walk to Uxmal. The staff were exceptional. Be sure to bring some cash to tip them if you order food or drinks as you can’t if you pay with a card. We enjoyed our room and the pool was great. Wonderful place and hardly anyone else was there so it was very peaceful.
We were upgraded to The Lodge at Uxmal, which is a beautiful hotel. Our room overlooked the pool, which was the best pool of our holiday, and the room was huge! The entrance to the ruins was visible from our balcony, so a quick walk in the morning! Breakfast was buffet and open at 7 so we were easily at the ticket office by 8 and enjoyed the ruins more or less to ourselves.
we really liked the location of the hotel, its in front of the entry of Uxmal pyramid site.the pools of the hotel are big and nice.... The hotel Has 2 pools the kids enjoyed them when we arrived in the afternoon, the style of the hotel is nice is you like pure Maya Style Hotels.
We ended up being upgraded to the sister hotel, the Lodge, like many other reviewers, and it was, of course, excellent. Our room was beautiful, the pool was a treat, and the proximity to the Uxmal Archaeological Site was super. We enjoyed our two nights there!
The staff were exceptionally nice and have attended all of our requests. They provided an upgrade to the Lodge at Uxmal as Hacienda was being restored. Also upgraded the room to ensure that everything was to our liking. Customer focus at its best!
The location overlooking the ruins, the beautiful rooms, large balcony overlooking the pool, jet tub and friendly staff. King size bed and all amenities in the room.
