I love the history and architecture of Campeche and the vibrancy of activities at the parks. The Malecon is a must see and experience as it adds modern to the old and is just a relaxing area. Great food … nice people … lots to see … lots to do and it feels safe to move around.
But the beach was a great disappointment. It’s far, expensive to get there and they charge you to enter yet they do not clean up the sargassum so it looks nasty and smells nasty 🤮

great walled town, long Malecon for morning walks before getting too hot. Nice small museum of archeology. The town is getting cleaned-up, repainting a lot of the older bldgs facades. Nice restaurants, very traditional Mercado, to buy fresh fruits and vegetables.

I loved the old houses and the waterfront light and sound show. High marks for Colonial charm. Sadly, my restaurant experiences, while edible, were not up to the standard I experienced in Valladolid and Playa del Carmen. I did not get to the beach.

I really REALLY love old cities like this with walls and forts to explore. It was easy to get around on foot within the city walls and with colectivos to the forts outside the main area. The malecón was nice to walk in the evening and enjoy the sunset. Lots of renovations going on around the streets so they are looking after the place for the future too.

This city although big does not have a big feel.
This city although big does not have a big feel. Lots of history. Must say it’s the cleanest place in the Yucatán. Friendly people. Beautiful effort of maintaining buildings. Very impressive! Our favourite restaurants/pub was Patroni’s. Best pizza gourmet pizza ever! The lit up town with all the pubs and restaurants was lovely. Down the way a grand market to visit. Very good tour, English provided. The only downside was that we went for a tour at the time told to us at 4:30 and the attendant never showed up. We took it in the morning. Well worth the wait.

This was our second trip, 3 days long.
This was our second trip, 3 days long. Our first was a week long. We're considering moving to Campeche from Merida. Our first trip was just before Christmas and it was beautiful with plenty of activities going on the entire time. We were able to visit most of the tourist attractions but not all. The fortress wall, the Malecon, the Water Show, concerts in the Main Square, Trolley Tour etc. And you can't miss the central Mercado, it was amazing compared to others we have visited. Very clean, as was the rest of Campeche. We felt very safe wherever we went. Our second trip was to revisit and make sure we were still in love with Campeche, and we are. Not as many festivities but still plenty going on. The whole of Centro appears to be going through a government sponsored revitalization project. It was beautiful already but should be spectacular once it's completed. Highly recommend.
Elda, the host, was super nice and gave us a lot of recommandations for Campeche. The room itself was very clean and comfy with a nice shower. We had no AC but we were aware, but instead there was a big Fan which helped in the heat. There is also a shared kitchen with everything you need.
15 min walk to the city, 5min to Walmart and the ocean, so perfectly located.
Elda also arranged a Taxi for us to take us to the ado bus Station. Outstanding place, definately recommanded.
Jorge was super responsive and provided great local recommendation. The property is located about a block away from the market and the entrance into the old city area which was awesome. The room was good size, the bed was comfortable, the AC worked well, and the internet was pretty good speed for Mexico standards. The shared kitchen had the essentials if you wanted to prepare a meal. This is great budget location in Campeche for a few days or longer.
Great accommodation! We loved the set-up of this hotel. We had 3 rooms and these were all comfortable. But best was the common area and kitchen that we could use. As we were traveling with 2 families, this was an excellent set-up. We could prepare lunch and breakfast (and dinner if we would have liked). Also on walking distance to the center of Campeche.
All in all a fantastic stay in this hotel.
A beautiful boutique hotel, centrally located on a quiet street just a short walk from restaurants and shops. The malecon and old city walls are also just a short walk away. Campeche is a beautiful city and El Navegante makes it accessible.. The room was spacious and very comfortable with a small balcony over the street, and front desk staff were always available and helpful.
Everything was perfect. We loved the apartment.
We had been travelling around Mexico for a while and it was the best place we have stayed. It was very central but you couldn't hear any street noise.
Everything had been thought of, it was the little touches that made the place. The bed linen was good quality and Sebastian was very helpful and knowledge.
I enjoyed my stay. Good location, friendly staff. The dorm was spacious and had plenty of fans which helped, as campeche is hot! The receptionist lady stood outside and hailed a cab for me, which was super nice of her, as it was a holiday and I was dubious about getting one. Good places to eat on that street. I'd definitely recommend!
The room was very spacious and clean with most comfortable bed! I loved that honey shower gel and sun room was a lovely space to relax. The pool area was nice, but wish it was cleaner. There are few parking spots just in front of the hotel. Location is great, quiet end of the Main Street with all restaurants just a walk away.
The view from the balcony was fantastic, across the Campeche sign and the water, a great spot for sunsets. The pool was large, clean and refreshing, and the cocktails at the bar during happy hour were also excellent. The main gate to the walled city is just behind the hotel which makes it one of the best locations in town.
This is a review of Hotel Plaza Campeche which I was switched to after booking.
Very clean and comfortable hotel and delighted to find a decent shower with reliable hot water and good pressure! It’s just a few minutes walk from the main square. The lady on reception was very helpful with my problems with booking a bus.
Hosts are very friendly and helpful. Room and Bathroom both are bright and clean. Quiet neighbourhood. Approx. 2 km to ADO & SUR Central bus stations and to major supermarket as well. Approx. 3 km to campeche historic centre. Nice sun terrace with views of sea and city
The quality of the food needs improvement.
For example the chilaquiles were always served soggy. and that is basic food how can you go wrong on that?
The best thing about the hotel was the location and the café that is close by around the corner.
Amazing hotel! It was one of the nicest place in hole Mexico in weeks trip. Bedroom was very spacious and design literally blew our minds :) It was awesome and very beautiful. And comfortable. Parking is included and its safe and private.
This place was phenomenal. I specifically loved the pool, kitchen with all cooking necessities, and the hammock in our room. The comfiest bed I’ve slept in in Mexico so far, as well!! perfect location
The hotel rooms are clean, the staff is good but the beds are horrible is like you are sleeping on a brick. The hotels need an upgrade. And the pool is very small
The room was worst we had in mexico but the price was fair and the location was great 👍
The best surprise was the staff wich was super nice and helpful 😍
