We really liked the city.
We really liked the city. You need to understand the bus situation and we tried, bought bus passes, tried using them but they were not coded the way our phone was displaying so we ended up using taxi service for all of our visitations to museums, central, restaurants, etc. It wasn't expensive but much more than the simple bus or combi travel would have been. Merida has lots to offer, especially with tours outside of the city, a bus trip to the beach in Progresso for 25 pesos each way, very cheap, cenotes, pyramids, on and on!

Merida is a historic small city/big village with several local entities and several upscale newer businesses too. Old buses and new buses. Very friendly and safe. People walk about the streets are pretty much all hours. It was fun. Energetic.

Merida is a big, historic, busy city surrounded by Mayan ruins, historic haciendas and beautiful cenotes. The Merida restaurant scene has everything from chef owned culinary gems to family run taco shops. There are many excellent tour guides available for in-depth exploration of the city and surroundings or one can do so on their own using public transportation or with a rental car.

I’ve visited Merida several times and was happy that my companion enjoyed her first visit. It’s a walkable, safe, friendly, beautiful city. Great sights, many very good restaurants, and a friendly population — great bus and collectivo system, also .
Good location, within easy walking distance of the center of town and the ADO bus terminal. The Hotel and rooms looked great, the U shaped pool was long enough to swim laps. We dropped of our luggage a few hours before check-in, stayed by the reception, for a very small fee. They were doing some repainting, workers were unobtrusive and quiet. WIFI and water pressure was better than most places I stayed in Mexico. Beds were fairly comfortable. It would be a great value if not for the issues.
Villa Orquidea was probably the best hotel we stayed in during our 3 weeks trip in Mexico. This Hotel is charming, comes with comfortable rooms and super comfortable beds. Since it is not directly in the city center, it is quiet and calm. What we liked the most was the breakfast. It changed every day and they always served fresh and tasty food. We even stayed one more night than actually planed. The stuff is super helpful. If you have any questions or you need anything, simply ask them :)
What we liked the most was the proximity to both Paseo de Montejo and the Plaza Grande. Also, the service was exceptional the owner of the small hotel was at the property every day and he's very nice, courteous, and helpful. He would offer us water and coffee every time he would see us and when we went to the beach he lent us a couple of towels and a beach bag. We'll loved Merida and I'll try to book a room at this hotel again when we go back.
200-year-old Hotel originally owned by Lebanese immigrant.. maybe the explanation for the ornate middle eastern court-yard arches. Beautiful wood doors to each room. Hotel has good central location in Merida. Good breakfast included. Service was great!
In Merida, we enjoyed visiting the Museum of the City of Merida and the nearby busy public market. On another day, we walked to the beautiful Museo de Arte Popular de Yucatán.
Beautifully designed and decorated hotel with the best breakfast we have had in Mexico - the omelette in particular !
The room was spacious, quiet and cool and we slept very well. The staff are all so so helpful and lovely. Thank you for a fantastic stay.
There is a small restaurant attached which serves delicious cold brew coffee and vegetarian food in the late afternoon/evening.
Value for money was excellent. Location couldn't be better. Very clean. Staff were friendly. Good wifi. Good AC. Based on other reviews we were a bit hesitant but for the price we were really happy.
The hot water was intermittent, but we have found this is consistent with other hotels around this price point in Mexico so didn't put us off wanting to stay again.
Ananda is such a sweet host, I could ask her anything. The room has airconditioning and the bathroom has a nice warm shower (hard to find in Mexico). Then they also have the two sweetest dogs! You can sit in the living room, use the kitchen, sit outside at the pool; lots of places to choose from. I had a great time, thank you again Ananda!
This hotel is as beautiful in person as it is in the photos. Service is excellent, with manager Aaron going the extra mile for anything you need. Great places to eat on the way to and from the wonderful sights of Merida. Very comfortable room, Ours had a sweet balcony overlooking the pool. Would stay here again and again.
Luxury rooms, vip service, relaxing common areas with a pool. Everything from check in to check out was exceptional! Start off your day with their delicious breakfast and head out to explore Merida from this convenient location. Be sure to stop next door at the coffee shop and indulge in a sinfully delectable quiche.
This hotel is not bad, but the worst from the 7 hotels we were staying at during our Mexico road trip. Central location is a plus. It has a nice shaded patio with a small fountain. There is a pleasant pool. Breakfast was OK, but nothing special. It was cheap.
lovely place. very friendly and chatty owners. lots of dogs. great pool. very relaxing. good advice on what to do locally. very good breakfasts. best guacamole during out three week stay in mexico. if I ever return to Merida would definitely stay here again.
The best stay that I’ve had in Mexico! Great location…a truly oasis in the middle of Centro. Design of the place and room was stunning. Plus I slept like a baby! Javier, please send me the link of the memory foam you guys use for the mattresses! :)
The location is excellent, downtown, close to the best restaurants. The hotel is clean very simple, but they keep it ok. They have parking spaces in the same building that in Mérida is not always often downtown.
- The hosts are welcoming and extremely helpful;
- The rooms are neat, fully equipped and spacious;
- The area;
- Hot water, which is not to be taken for granted in Mexico.
Place is super cute and very homey. Family ran business by a French man who lives in Canada and now Mexico along with his wife. very very welcoming quite place.
