We really liked the city.
We really liked the city. You need to understand the bus situation and we tried, bought bus passes, tried using them but they were not coded the way our phone was displaying so we ended up using taxi service for all of our visitations to museums, central, restaurants, etc. It wasn't expensive but much more than the simple bus or combi travel would have been. Merida has lots to offer, especially with tours outside of the city, a bus trip to the beach in Progresso for 25 pesos each way, very cheap, cenotes, pyramids, on and on!

Merida is a historic small city/big village with several local entities and several upscale newer businesses too. Old buses and new buses. Very friendly and safe. People walk about the streets are pretty much all hours. It was fun. Energetic.

Merida is a big, historic, busy city surrounded by Mayan ruins, historic haciendas and beautiful cenotes. The Merida restaurant scene has everything from chef owned culinary gems to family run taco shops. There are many excellent tour guides available for in-depth exploration of the city and surroundings or one can do so on their own using public transportation or with a rental car.

I’ve visited Merida several times and was happy that my companion enjoyed her first visit. It’s a walkable, safe, friendly, beautiful city. Great sights, many very good restaurants, and a friendly population — great bus and collectivo system, also .
We loved the hostel and had a short but very great time with the owner(s). Very friendly and cool, caring and lovely people. The hostel is definitely among our top 3 in Mexico. We loved the style and would always come back. The use of the kitchen is very handy, the patio is very cosy, the craft beer sold by the owner is cheap and great, the little souvenirs they sell are unique (no pressure to buy!), and the free coffee with reggae music and the welcoming friendly dogs made our mornings! Gracias por todo, chicos!
Fast and reliable WiFi--the first time I've experienced this in 2 months in Mexico. My zoom calls were perfectly stable. Almost everyone who worked at the hotel spoke really good English--this is the first time I've experienced this in Mexico (I've only been to the Yucatan). Everyone was super helpful and friendly. The room was clean, comfortable, and stylish. Perfect location--walking distance from bus station and the central square. And the hotel is affordable. This is a gem!
Price is quite good, location is great. The common areas are lovely. There is a water dispenser on every floor so you don't have to worry about buying water (a must in Merida).
Noise was good, the minisplit hides any noise. Mosquitoes were minimal (that's a win in Mexico), and there would probably be even less mosquitoes on a higher floor. AC or fan will keep you bite free at night as mosquitoes are bad flyers.
The staff are great, especially Mr. Santos.
I feel honored that I met these two people in my travel to Mexico. They made the Merida experience even more special for us. Both Catrina and Diego are marvelous hosts, we had great time together in the breakfast hours, the facility was clean and with a lot of history, close to the city center. She cooked for us and we had great time. It was actually very emotional the whole experience. Diego and Catrina muchas gracias por todos!! (los griegos)
Great host, who was extremely helpful with picking day trips and storing our luggage the day after our stay. He studied in Europe, so there was no language barrier at all. Additionally, the hotel is a really cozy and clean place just in the middle of Merida’s historic centre. Just an exceptional place to stay, in particular after some horrible experiences we made in Mexico so far…
Judy made a fabulous breakfast every morning. Freshly cooked and with fruit - and the best coffee we have had so far in Mexico. The pool was a bonus but the stand out part is the absolutely beautiful building and decor. The bedroom we had was upstairs with twin beds and a lovely big terrace. Also try to book a tour with Ellie - Uxmal and a great cenote visit in one day.
The hotel is in a very good, central location (though next to a live music venue which can be quite loud at night). The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is served in a nearby restaurant/café which has a nice choice of meals (3-5 min walk). The pool is definitely a big plus and it's great for refreshing after a long, hot day in and around Mérida.
Ananda and Jose are great hosts - we were welcomed and check in was easy. The location is fabulous, being walking distance to downtown and very close to the airport. It provided a tranquil retrieve from the outside world. The room was clean and comfortable and absolutely perfect for our needs. We will definitely stay here next time we are in Merida!
You could not ask for more: The room was big with a nice fridge, the parking next door, you could sit outside the room in a nice area, the breakfast was the best we had in Mexico and the little restaurant offered a healthy alternative to the tipical mexican food. To top everything else you could ask for a "pre breakfast coffee" if you woke early.
Amazing property fairly close to the center of Merida.
Very tastefully decorated rooms, following Mexican motifs. Comfortable beds and hot water
Most kind and attentive staff which spoke great English (which is not easy to come across in Mexico)
Delicious breakfast.
A shop 200 m down the street.
- beautiful, bright and spacious room, pool and modern design of the hotel
- perfect location in the city centre of Merida
- supermarket and the main square are just a few minutes walk away
- during our travels in Mexico we visited many hotels, this was one of the best :)
This is a cozy property. If you are tired of big hotels environment and wants something more familiar and home-like environment, I strongly recommend this property. Very friendly staff and very good service. I definitely will comeback in my future trips to Merida, Yucatan
Stylish! Art deco, at least if you like that style. It definately has grandeur! Beds were good, reception and house keeping staff were amazingly friendly. Location is the best! Best shower in Mexico and parking is excellent! Place was very clean.
The breakfast was freshly made to order but was an extra cost. The hotel is located about a 10 minute flat walk from the centre and is nice and quiet( apart from the cockerell but that's Mexico for you and not the hotels fault!)
The breakfast was very good! It was included in my stay. I liked that there was a menu for me to choose from unlike most hotels I visited in Mexico! The portions are decent as well and the food comes with coffee and juice!
Stayed at this cozy Casa in Mexico and loved it! Clean rooms and had a real family vibe. The place is nice and quiet. The staff is awesome, really friendly and made me feel right at home. Totally recommend it! 😊
I like the location of the hotel you're closer to all the nightlife of Mérida at least on downtown area. You achieve many interesting places just by walking.
