It's easy to reach other locations from Gzira by bus or ferry. City itself is not super beautiful, it has a nice coast but architecture-wise it's a lot of everything but other cities were way more beautiful. But the positive side of this is that it's cheaper to stay there as in other areas.

Il-Gżira charms visitors with its scenic waterfront promenade, The Strand, offering stunning views of Marsamxett Harbour. Independence Gardens provide a tranquil oasis amidst the urban bustle, while Duck Village adds a quirky touch appreciated by nature lovers.
Getting around Il-Gżira is convenient thanks to its compact size and accessible transportation options. Walking is ideal for exploring local attractions, while public buses and taxis offer easy access to neighboring areas and tourist spots.
While Il-Gżira has much to offer, visitors should be mindful of crowded areas along The Strand, especially during peak tourist seasons. Exercise caution against pickpocketing in crowded spots and avoid swimming in unauthorized areas for safety reasons.

Great neighborhood, lots of restaurants, grocery stores, shops, very walkable. Busses are a few blocks away and there is street parking if you can find it but I’d not choose to drive. Easy to get to Valletta, much more difficult to get to the ferry to Gozo. Go to Mdena, it’s amazing. Wander round Valletta. Stay longer than you think as there is lots to see and do. Great country! Ali Baba is a great Lebanese restaurant in the hood. Lunch at Grain, a Michelin Bib, is an excellent value and a terrific meal.

Great to have the ferries so close, so a ferry tour with iSeeMalta to Gozo and Comino is totally worth every cent. There are so many restaurants and pubs in the main street for everyone's taste. Promenade was lovely, with a view of Valletta and a nice bay area.
If you're in doubt, where to stay, I would recommend this area - compared to Valletta there's a bit less tourists, so more space to move around and a bit more greenery, also better access to other parts of the islands without sitting in traffic too long.
Lokali Rooms was one of the best places we stayed in the last few years. Mr. Carmelo was extremely helpful during all our time in Lokali. The bedroom was comfortable, providing travelers who want (or need) to stay in a good option. Both room and bathroom are accessible for those with low mobility. Our room had a fridge, a good thing when the hotel does not provide breakfast options, and a safe without additional charge. Internet was stable and fast. Going back to Malta, we will probably try to find a place there again.
In Gzira, right next to Slieme and walking distance from Saint Julian and a 2 euro ferry ride to Valletta
taxi from the airport (also to the airport) is between 10 to 13 euro (Bolt application)
other than that, you can walk pretty much all around
to go Mdina and rabat it is between 12 to 15 euro by taxi (Bolt also). It is convenient especially if you are 2 or 3 people together.
Lots of restaurants and shops all around
As for the hotel:
Clean hote, polite staff
We liked that the sheets, cutlery, towels and the bathroom were pretty clean and that the kitchen had a couple of nice facilities that we could use: the oven, the Coffee Machine, the water boiler, the fridge. All facilities were functioning very well, inclunding the air conditioning that is an absolutely must in the high temperatures of Malta's August.
The location was as well a very good one and we were pleased with it.
A massive thank you to Sasha, Monica, the cleaners and the rest of the Korzo team who made my 4 week stay incredible. From my first day I felt so safe in my room as I was travelling solo, and throughout my stay the Korzo team were available and assisted me always. I HIGHLY recommend to stay here when you come to Malta, as the location is close proximity to buses, the water and great restaurants. Thanks again Korzo!!
Hotel was great for visiting Malta. Amazing views from balcony. Very good location next to restaurants and easy for ferry and bus tours. Staff were all very friendly. Breakfast had a good selection. The hotel facilities were great and included access to the outdoor pool bar, a small indoor pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room, as well as a welcome drink. Will recommend for anyone staying in Malta. Would stay again.
Next to bus station for Valleta, about 15 min away. Good place are as we as restaurants are nearby. It seems hotel is under construction. My minor complaints were resolved immediately. I requested the taxi for the midnight pickup, they arranged it but taxi driver never showed up and I did arrange my own. However, for this mistake, they took care of the return taxi as a complimentary. Thanx
A nice new hotel, fresh smell. Good sound isolation of the windows - even if nearby construction is going on, when you close the balcony, virtually no disturbing sounds. A generous selection of food for breakfast. Very helpful staff. Good connection to other places in Malta, as the bus stop is probably some 50 m away. Good vicinity, as many cafes and restaurants nearby.
The hotel is beside the bus station, which is handy because Malta has a great bus network. The staff is super friendly and will help you with anything. The rooms are comfy and clean. The breakfast has a huge selection of food, you can surely find something that fits your diet. We used the hot tub and sauna on the top floor, and all the facilities were nice.
The location was very good, in a busy part of town. About 20 minute walk to the ferry to get to Valletta and other areas of Malta. Lots of shops in the area. Apartment itself was very big, it had all the amenities for a holiday. It was very clean, it felt brand new. It had 2 balconies, with nice views. Wi-Fi was good. For what we paid it was well worth it.
Apartment was great for our month long stay. Kitchen was well equipped, bedrooms where comfortable with lots or storage and there was good washing facilities. Would recommend this for a great stay in Malta. There is great access to Gzira, Sliema and therefore pretty much anywhere by boat, so an excellent place to see lots of Malta.
Hotel was so clean & bed so comfortable, the size of the room perfect, the stuff was so friendly & caring, the breakfast was delicious & the best part there was toilet flush makes my staying more easy , the location close to everything in the center of malta & was no noise , sleeping like a baby
Will be my favorite hotel so far ❤️
VelaBlu suite is a perfect way of understanding and enjoying Malta. It makes the experience more authentic. The suite is 15 minutes walk from the beach line and the bus station to Valetta is in front of it. Giuseppe is giving you a lot of local tips and he is flexible and willing to help. We would definitely recommend the suites.
New hotel, very good location. It is easy to travel around Malta from the Hotel. It was clean and the rooms are very good equiped, Netflix is on TV, coffee maschine in the room. Many good restaurants are only few steps from the hotel. Few hundred meter is the Ferry to Valletta. Receptionist, cleaning lady are very kind.
I was pleased with my room (double bed standard)
I was pleased with the breakfast!
Staff were helpful except the repetition who greet me on my check-in.
I’m pleased with the location.
I would like to say the hotel make it business thanks to their staff…!
Beautiful new hotel in Il Girza, very well maintained with a very hood breakfast included in the price. Great value for money. Close to the hop on hop off bus and ferry stop, with many bars, restaurants and bakeries close by. Great location, i recommend!
The staff was very helpful. The bed was very comfortable. I would like to return to the hotel next time I am in Malta. The nearby Bayview hotel provided an excellent buffet dinner which was good value for money.
The location is great, close to everything. They have good AC which is important for the Malta summer. Breakfast was good for the price and they have a indoor mini pool and sauna.
Location is maybe not the best one but in Malta everything is so close so it's better to be a little bit away. Bed was one of the best that I had in my travels.
