Nice very welcoming humans away from touristic path. Very historical.

No decent size shops not even a proper supermarket eg Carrefour. Can be difficult if not speak French or Arabic . Lots of beggars and sad sights like a man scavenging in bins. Dry and hot and dusty. No local bus services . Pedestrian crossings are ignored. Feels like the back of beyond lots of rubbish

Zagora is the gate to the Sahara desert.
Zagora is the gate to the Sahara desert. The village itself has a lot of nice bars, restaurants and hotels, and is the starting point for guided tours in the desert, all or not on a dromedary, all or not with an overnight stay in tent camps, for 1 or more days. Next to that, Zagora has twice a week a very big local market (Wednesday and Sunday) that is a must to experience! Further down the N9 you can find the small town Tamegroute, famous for its artisanal green pottery. Also a must to stop there and see the 7 families at work outside.
Oasis Tilogui is a medium seized walled off place so when you enter it feels a bit like a vacation village but the facilities are great and the cabins spacious and comfortable. You have your own roof terrace overlooking the desert and the staff is friendly and attentive. You are around 10 km from Zagora; the kitchen is great and offers standard Moroccan dishes. Breakfast was healthy with fresh fruit and yoghurt, a welcome change from the good but heavy standard breakfasts typically served in the riads..
Amazing stay at the Dromadaire. It has more of a guest house vibe than a hotel. Spacious apartment with an en suite bathroom, a cute little balcony looking on the main street of Zagora, and a delicious breakfast served in the restaurant downstairs.
The owner mr Mustafa and his son Redwane took real good care of us and gave us excellent tips on things to do and see. We discovered hidden gems in the Kasba and learned so much thanks to mr Mustafa who had such interesting stories to tell.
Highly recommend.
Wonderfull hotel :)
Really recommend the trip to the dessert.
(Last time with other agency it was just about to take money from tourist).
Mohammad from Dar Tiziri was great guide.
No pressure, he was listening what we want to see and do.. Not offering any friends stuff :) He was ready to answer all questions even in topics I was afraid to ask.. about Moroco, people, tribes, history, actual politics in the world, economy..from other than EU side of view ...thanks again :)
Omar was a fantastic host and even though we only stayed at Riad Dar Zaouia for a few days, he ensured they were incredibly memorable. He went well beyond what might be expected from a host and helped us with problems at all hours (including helping us to find a mechanic in the middle of the night) and always made us feel at home. He also served us some of the best tea we had in Morocco. Thank you for an amazing stay.
There are rare times when you are welcomed to your hotel/riad/dar/wherever you’re staying and it feels like you’re being welcomed home. This is one of those cases.
Asaad and Omar are kind, warm, and incredibly welcoming in an authentic way. And they are willing to accommodate whatever you need. It was great to get to stay here and I would recommend it to anyone.
Omar was warm and welcoming. He only spoke French and my French is limited but we made it work! The rooms are clean and comfortable. There is a great roof terrace. The breakfast was simple but traditional and tasty. The property is within easy access to the taxi rank and CTM bus stop. If I pass through Zagora when I'm next in Morocco I would stay again.
Great rooms, location is excellent and the rooftop view is really nice at sunset and night-time if you like looking at the stars. The family that run the place are very kind and showed me the greatest hospitality. Breakfast is fantastic, I had dinner with them one night too and it was excellent! I'll definitely be back again next time I'm in Zagora.
To me this hotel was not a hotel, it was like coming back home to see a long lost family!!! The owner Samir was like a brother, we will seat outside of his hotel door step and chat our way through life. I don't have words to describe my happiness in this place. Will find any excuse to come back to Zagora so I can stay again in this hotel.
I liked the breakfast which was one of the best that I ate in Morocco. The bread was fresh, the eggs were great and I liked the juice and jams. The bed was comfortable. The internet and air conditioner worked fine. The room had a refrigerator that I enjoyed. The staff were kind and friendly. I would return here and recommend.
The hospitality of the family running this hotel is absolutely exceptional. As is the cooking! And the shower water pressure was good enough to wash out all of the Sahara sand. Definitely the best choice here
There’s a reason there’s o many good reviews, the place is great! great staff, nice area to relax in…and there’s several of them, the artistic creations on the walls and rooms that adorn the hotel.
Amazing hotel with a very nice garden with swimming pool. In feb too cold to use, but must be very welcoming in th e heat of the summer.
Dinner was very good.
Beautiful garden, friendly stuff (not those crazy smiling when you don't know what they really think :) , Silence, best deep sleep in Morocco we had :)
