Unfortunately due to my recovering from two breaks (ankle and femur) I wasn't able to get to the beach so I can't give you an account but it did look pretty wicked, as for negumbo resort what a great place to get a very relaxing holiday, really good bars with all the latest music and serious food in the restaurant's. Negumbo is much improved after the last few years. Good place to stay for airport arrival or departure. Some nice seafood restaurants on the main road. The beach is ok for a sunset drink and there are good waves but it isn't as clean as it could be

I didn't really like Negombo, It has a dirty, noisy road running alongside the beaches which makes it really unpleasant to walk around. There's very little access to the beaches along side this road. There a few nice restaurants, we enjoyed Prego. I would say as a town it's our least favourite place we went to in Sri Lanka and doesn't really reflect the rest of the country which was beautiful. He can always give you good recommendation where to eat etc. It was the best to have this hostel as the first stay in Sri lanka. You're right on the beach and can watch the beautiful sunset from the hostel. Holiday mode at once! We had an amazing time here! Easy to meet people in the common area!
