Great location and good facilities, just what we needed
Pompeii is a lovely and cozy and absolutely beautiful town!
Pompeii is a lovely and cozy and absolutely beautiful town!
As a solo female traveler I always felt very safe, and I was able to fully enjoy and explore both the city, and the sights like the ruins and mount vesuvius.
Note that there aren’t any Ubers or any easy way to get a taxi if you’re staying a little outside the main city core (I stayed at a 30 minute walk away from the Main Street), but it’s very walkable and there’s pavement all around, and some busses if you can figure them out but I generally just walked everywhere :)
There’s also areas for parking if you’re bringing/renting a car or even for campers and RV’s right next to the city centre (abt 3-5min walk from the Main Street).
The Pompeii ruins are a must visit and I recommend going with a guide that’s also an archeologist, I found several tours including the one I took that also went to Herculaneum via GetYourGuide. There I also found the “tour” (just a shuttle bus really) that went to the highest entrance of Mount Vesuvius (leaving a 20min/1km hike to the top of the crater) which was also very cool and I definitely recommend going there too while you’re in Pompeii!

The ruins of Pompei is an amazing place to visit.
The ruins of Pompei is an amazing place to visit. We booked a personal guide with Askos tours. A fella by the name of Alfredo. He was an archaeologist and had worked on the excavation of Pompei so he was full of amazing facts. You can walk around on your own but without the right guide it would be a waste. So many amall details that you would miss on your own. Its a long day walking but worth every step. I would highly recommend seeing it.

Pompeii was amazing - I could’ve roamed around the ruins for another day. Our hotel was a 4-minute walk to the ruins! No lines because it is off season - the weather is perfect! We ate at the hotel restaurant and it was amazing - one of the best meals in Italy so far!

Pompei is super cool, especially if you love history.
Pompei is super cool, especially if you love history. The ruins are incredible. When you get there though there are several people trying to sell you audio guides and such, which is super infuriating. Other than that it was amazing. I also recommend climbing Mt Vesuvius - if you can. Be aware they will try to sell you a tour but it is unnecessary. There is a local bus that takes you up the mountain. Also, remember to book online before you go :)
This hotel is spotlessly clean. All rooms and public areas such as hallways were cleaned thoroughly daily. The hotel is of it's time yes, a little dated but brilliantly designed and built with very high quality materials. The pool area is fantastic, the design is just amazing, a real piece of quality architecture. Very good value for money and if your reason for being here is for Pompeii it's 5 minutes walk away, it would be ideal for say a two or three night stay if you want to give Pompeii and Herculaneum the attention they deserve.
This is a high class excellent hotel and experience. We loved our room. The bed was super comfortable. Its the best that is available in Pompeii that we saw. The restaurant on the rooftop is the JEWEL of the hotel. Do yourself a favor and eat at this WONDERFUL restaurant. We wish we got the tasting menu, but every morsel of the gourmet food we had was amazing and prepare with LOVE. Breakfast buffet was also lovely. The place was roomy and comfortable. I would have stayed longer!
We absolutely loved our stay at Villa Ettore! We both agreed that this was the nicest place we stayed during our trip to Italy by far. The room was beautiful and much bigger than our suite in Maiori that cost twice as much. The owner was very kind and knowledgeable about the area. We loved his close the place was to both the train station and the ruins. We would definitely stay there again.
Was a last minute booking to stay in Pompeii overnight before returning to Naples and really glad we did. The hotel is perfectly located across from the ruins and near some great restaurants and bars. Had a nice balcony to sit outside and enjoying the setting sun. Room had everything I needed. Great hot shower. Comfortable bed. Easy check in and out. Lovely place to stay.
We LOVED our stay here. The best place we stayed in Italy. The manager is super nice and she gave us a step by step instructions about everything. The breakfast was delicious. The room is super clean and cozy. Everyone were very nice to us. The property has a free private parking. The location is great (10 min walk to the Archeological park of Pompei).
Everything was great. The flat had everything you may need. The garden is also great inwhich you can have the great breakfast the host prepared. It was the best hotel/homestay breakfast in Italy because there was both sweet and salty things Juice coffee fruits... The host gave me ride to the Pompei old city.
Absolutely everything, the welcoming staff the most comfortable bed ,lovely room with kettle coffee and tea, the cleanliness, location and best breakfast I've had in Italy 🇮🇹 😀 also parking if you have a car and also in between train stations and 2 entrance's to ruins
The nicest place we've ever stayed in Italy by a mile. Staff were amazing, the rooms are beautiful with everything you could possibly want, and we can't believe the value for the price ❤️. Perfect location too. Thank you Terra Mia!! We would 10000% stay again.
Free pastry and coffee at an incredible bakery less than a minute away. The owner and daughter could not have been nicer. Modern, spacious and the best place we stayed in our three week Italy vacation. Would book the exact same place again and again. A ++++
Todisco is a 5 minute walk to the ruins of Pompei. The restaurant has delicious pizza and pasta and a fantastic breakfast from meats to cheeses to bread and sweet rolls. The best feature of Todisco is the kindness of host Caterine and her daughter.
Amazing warm welcome and beautiful and comfortable room. Everything felt just perfect. Even a small bottle prosecco in the fridge! Loved the voucher to have breakfast at a bar. Feels exactly how a breakfast should be in Italy!
We had a freezer for the first time in 5 days of being in an extremely hot and humid Italy. It helped that we could freeze some water. The aircon was great in the heat. The balcony with space to hang towels/washing was nice.
the location was excellent. was within walking of train station and Pompeii. breakfast was served there and dinner was possible ad well. There was parking available as well which is a hot commodity in Italy.
Location. Hotel located in the main square. Entrance to the pompeii ruins is next to the hotel. AC works well. Front counter has a person 24 hours. I will come back to this hotel if I visit again.
Excellent location: close to Pompei ruins, grocery and restaurants. Excellent host who put on a fantastic breakfast with the best cappuccino and espresso! Communication response was very quick.
The view and room was very splendid! We lived very close to the towns center and not at all to far away from the Pompeii ruins. The hotel workers were hospitable and very kind.
Excellent breakfast with savory options, which is uncommon in Italy. Unbeatable location in the triangle of the ruins, the new town and the 3 train stations.
Comfortable in good location and reasonable breakfast (for Italy).
Was able to leave luggage there while I visited Mt Vesuvius prior to leaving Pompeii
