There isn't much to see in Caltanissetta itself but it is a good base for travelling around the area. It isn't touristy so not as busy as place such as Enna and Piazza Armerina. The roads are generally very good (apart from in the towns) so travel is quick and easy. The place you must not miss is Villa Romana del Casale.

Like most of the towns in Sicily, driving can be hectic.
Like most of the towns in Sicily, driving can be hectic. The old towns are not suited to modern driving, but once you get accustomed to the driving style and familiarity of the city, it's not so bad. Caltanissetta is well positioned to explore the surrounding rural landscape and a good base to explore surrounding sites and small towns. The city itself is busy and modern and has a mix of historical churches and sites and restaurants. The people are friendly and the vibe seems happy.

It is located in the most beautiful part of Sicilia, and we couldn't stop admiring the views, and surrounding of the Villa . A perfect place to see another side of Sicili, less touristy. The room was just what we needed, very clean, and warm even during January. There is a common room, where you can eat, make coffee or tea. Even if we were the only guests in the house, hosts prepared for us an amazing breakfast in the morning.We enjoyed our time in the hotel, and would recommend it.AnnaPoland

Glad we found this beautiful hotel. A very nice lady welcomed us and gave a us a better room than the one we reserved. Room , shower were amazing. Bed was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious. Home made pies , croissants, cold meats, cheeses, dry fruits, yogurts. 10 stars to this amazing little corner
