Modica town is quaint and has lots to offer to the tourist.
Modica town is quaint and has lots to offer to the tourist. It can best be explored on foot though you will need a car to go from Modica alta to the lower area of Modica. Modica has many churches and eateries as well as shops and the narrow streets are fascinating and always offering lovely surprises. It is a hilly town so not ideal for the elderly tourst to get around unless they get a taxi

Very nice city split in two parts, Modica alta(hill) and modica bassa(old town), long corso for nice promenade for shopping and eating, many old interesting buildings and monuments, turistic train running around the city, defintely 1-2 night to spend worth it.

Modica is a very interesting town. For older people the steps and steep roads and streets might be challenging. The green tourist “train” gave a good overview of the histoic centre of the old town. Modica is famous for its chocolate - tours need to be booked at least 24 hours in advance.

Modica is so unique.
Modica is so unique. Our first view of the steep hillside of buildings took our breath away. Our phones weren't helping us get there so we drove down from the alto section to the bottom through the town. That was amazing. Just looking up at different times of the day are worth the experience.

Unfortunately we visited Modica on a rainy day so our experience was dampened a little. It looked like it was full of historical interest and of course it's famous for its chocolate if you like their style of chocolate!
We found Ragusa Ibla more enjoyable.

Modica was the perfect Baroque city to locate in to explore the other cities and the beach. The location to bus station and train station was convenient to do daytime exploring. The city had a good mix of tourist stuff and regular people shops and restaurants.
Mostly I cooked in my apartment but I took day trips every day.
This was by far the best stay we had in Sicily. The room was phenomenal (called 'Time') with incredibly comfortable beds and A/C! We underestimated the use for the jacuzzi, as we visited in August (when it was insane hot), however in the evening it cooled off and we were pleasantly surprised with the jacuzzi and beautiful garden space upstairs. Would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Modica! Couldn't be a better location. The staff was also super helpful in allowing us to do some laundry on site.
Amazing villa in Modica! Ideal for excursions to the nearby medieval towns of Noto, Scicli and Ragusa and with easy access to nice beaches (eg Donnalucata, Marina di Ragusa, Marzamemi). Numerous beautiful rooms, parking and many other amenities. It also has a beautiful garden and a huge terrace ideal for sunbathing in the morning and for romantic dinners in the evening. Alberto and Anna are very kind and generous hosts, willing to respond to your requests. Grazie per tutto!
This Villa is amazing! It’s very spacious (could easily accommodate six), comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen, separate dining room, terrace and access to a lovely garden with olive, orange and lemon trees and herbs. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. The location is excellent if you have a car — 10 minutes to the old citY of Modica and 20 minutes to Ragusa and Scikli. There are supermarkets nearby. We would love to stay there again.
This is a unique place in a wonderful town. We stayed here for 4 nights and used Modica as a base for exploring the towns nearby and enjoying Sempieri beach. As it turned out, it was really Modica that we enjoyed the most. There is so much to discover here. We enjoyed our welcoming hostess and the breakfast spot (Bar del Duomo) nearby. Excellent cappuccino, best cannoli and chocolate granita of our trip. And the views!!
Giovanni was in constant touch with us on WhatsApp regarding the arrival procedure. He met us on site and helped us move in. Explained the sight-seeing in Modica and nearby towns. Giovanni then showed us where to park our car for free for 2 nights. The apartment is very clean, well equipped and really cool during the warm weather. It is close to the main sights. Best value for money in our 12 day stay in Sicily
We love everything! En-suite brand new bathroom with bidet, shower, sink. Comfortable beds. Quiet working air conditioners in every room. Washing machine Candy. Teapot, coffee machine, fridge and all brand new. Federica is the best host I have ever met! She gave us so useful information about places to eat, and the best way to see Modica.
That's a magical place. 18th century villa, which was renewed 5 years ago. All profits go to the foundation which helps to mothers and children.
The location is great, in good weather you can see the sea. Owner is very nice person and made a tour for us. The place is amazing. The filling of true Sicily from old movies
Everything! From the moment we stepped in front of the hotel it was exceptional. The parking is great, great food, very very clean hotel! The staff was amazing every one of them! And the fact that we had fresh free water throughout was unexpected and appreciated. We will definitely stay at Modica Boutique Hotel again!
The owner really does everything to make your stay memorable, the breakfast was amazing and the room very nice. The only challenge for the stay was the location of the hotel which is on the hilltop of modica. The public transportation is not very convenient, so you have to run up and down a lot.
It's the second time I stayed here. The breakfast was good, rooms clean and spacious, friendly staff with a smile especially at the reception. Had dinner in the hotel's restaurant and we were really satisfied. Parking outside the hotel always available. Above all the price was very reasonable.
The place was amazing. So beautiful and well-designed and clean.
The owner (or the rental company person) was very kind and helpful.
The view from the apartment was also magical.
The city of Modica itself was my favorite place on my trip route around Sicily.
Vento del Sud is a really great house, very nice and comfortable!
Simona is an incredible host and she was so helpful with all the information we needed! Modica is an amazing place to visit and I would definitely recommend Vento del Sud for your accomodation.
Everything was perfect, the hotel looks even nicer than the pictures show. The breakfast was excellent and the personnel very friendly and highly competent. Situated in a great location to explore the beautiful Modica, Oro Hotel is absolutely recommended.
A special experience staying in a palazzo that has been a family home for over 200 years . The host was extremely accommodating, location ideal right in the middle of Corsica Umberto, the Main Street in Modica, and it was a very good value.
The sweet old neighbour lady helped us identify the correct dor. Her vigilance made us feel extremely safe. The place was spotless with a nice view. We also had a parking spot. Unlike the other places in Sicily, this one was very quiet.
The view from the balcony was spectacular, showing the special hillside city of Modica. The breakfast was substantial with lots of good choices. Room was comfortable with a great balcony, table and chairs.
