Scalea is a historic town, so besides the beach and the sun you can also discover its historical charm. The town is rugged. Don't be afraid of gentle hills ( almost all towns in Italy are like this).

Lovely beach town with good restaurants. la Piazzaetta is a favorite of the locals who entertained us on open-mike night. Antica Trattoria a Taverna is a long walk uphill to the old town. We had half liter of vino bianco locale with the shared special antipasti served with bread which was very filling. The pasta dishes that followed were delicious but we should have shared that too. Best not to visit Scalea in July or August when it is very crowded. We visited in mid-September and had a very nice time.

Scalea is a warm and friendly town.
Scalea is a warm and friendly town. The restaurants are abundant and serve outstanding Calabrian cuisine. The beaches are some of the most beautiful in the world. If you are traveling with a young family, there is much to do...not to mention how safe Scalea feels.

Loved our accommodation, especially the views and proximity to Scalea. There is everything you need in Scalea and it is only a very short drive from the accommodation. Great restaurants, beaches and centre storico.

The historic district is like stepping back in time - ancient homes and pathways...and lots of stairs to climb. Not for those with difficulty walking. The downtown area and beaches offer plenty of places to stop for a cappuccino and something sweet, a quick pizza or a delicious extended meal.

Lovely old town.
Lovely old town. The old historical part of the town offers a lot more character & charm than the beach front boardwalk (which was often dirty and rubbish not collected). Definitely worth walking up to the old Castle for the view. Great restaurants in the old town Il Tari and La Rondinella.
Nice family who owns the house. They met us and gave us the keys and made sure all was in working order in the house. Three comfortable bedrooms and one bathroom. Home is equipped with all you will need for a comfortable stay including a washing machine. Nice, countryside setting with easy access (driving) to Scalea and the surrounding areas mountain villages. Quiet area and a place to park your car securely as there is a gate around the property. Very good wifi. Nice stay overall.
Great friendly and helpful hostess. I love the location, steps from the Scalea train station and 5 min to bar Daniela. The modern apartment is very cute and cozy and comfortable. Plus it has balcony so you can relax. It felt like home. I cooked meals there. I didn’t mind the announcements from the train station- it did not bother me at all. I will definitely stay here again when am back in Scalea.
Located very close to all the dining on a street closed to traffic. Can walk to beach or train station. Parking available but only for 2 cars without blocking someone in.
Very good response time from owner who lived off site.
Small frig in room. Nice sized bathroom but that's were smell came from. All in all a good place to crash for a night. My room was a budget room for sure. Nothing special.
the hotel is absolutely amazing. it’s located in a 5-min walk to the beach and the sea. the hotel is well-equipped and has all neccessities for your stay: wi-fi, AC, parking. when you enter the hotel there is an area with tables, coffee machine, tea kettle, plates, cutlery and is free to use. this hotel is cleaned daily. the staff of the hotel is extremly friendly and helpful
Unbelivable host, beautiful and special location. The owner, Biagio Cavalliere, was very helpfull and open, giving us the recomandations about the beaches, restaurants and the history of the old beautiful city Scalea…Really nice italian breakfast…In the end, we had the feeling that we were not just tourists, but friends!
Grazie mille, Biagio!
The hotel is very nice, but the highlight is truly the private beach. We enjoyed the clean, clear water from our free beds and umbrellas. Very family friendly, from my 11 year old son to my 84 year old father. We could each lunch and then jump right back in. The pool is nice, the breakfast good- great stay and great value.
Excellent place for stay in Scalea. Very opened and friendly properties owners, they assist you all you need for comfort relax in destination. Home made food for dinner was really good, up to me it is much better, than you go to trattoria. Picturesque filling to be in sea view opened terrace with typical local wine.
We had a really great experience! The staff were so kind, welcoming and accommodating. They went above and beyond the standard to make sure we were comfortable and had a great trip in Scalea. The location was great, the room was nice and air conditioned and comfortable. Breakfast was good.
This place was simply outstanding!
Location is ideal, we parked and didn’t use car once.
Shopping , dining and beach all within walking distance
The hosts are warm and welcoming . They made us feel at home
The cleanliness and decor both outstanding. Highly recommended!
Possibly the perfect place to be in Scalea to enjoy bith city and beach. The B&B was located in the historic center and just a short walk to the beach. Stefano and his wife were lovely. Wish we had stayed more time!
it has a great location right by the beach and the sea side balcony was great. the whole hotel is dated and a little tired. However, it was very clean and the staff super friendly and helpful. I would stay again.
The hotel location was very good close to the beach and the city center. The staff was friendly. There was terrace where you have breakfast. Breakfast was good selection e.g. croissant, cakes and cookies.
The villa is very beautiful, the host(esses) were incredibly nice and the location is perfect. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Scalea
