Undulating beside the Bay of Naples, this UNESCO World Heritage city is a maze of narrow streets and cable cars. Although it has an incredible array of churches and monuments, it’s the sheer energy, pulsating life, and buzz of Vespas that really make it exciting.
At first you could mistake this for chaos, but given time you’ll see there’s method to the madness. The stunning, curved portico of the Royal Palace. The perfectly thin pizzas which originated here. The red pepper trinkets to ward off the evil eye adorning practically every old town doorway. All are crafted to perfection.
While all this goes on at street level, below is Underground Naples – a series of tunnels you can visit and even a Graeco-Roman theater which you stop at before emerging into someone’s house!
Head up to the Posillipo area for stunning views of the city and Vesuvius in the distance. The volcano itself can be visited and looking down from it towards Pompeii and Herculaneum gives context to the thousands of artifacts now on display in the city’s National Archaeological Museum.
As for accommodations, Booking.com has a wealth of hotels near Naples Airport, old town B&Bs, city center apartments and more to help you make the most of your stay.
I know Napels and did not expect anything better. For my wife it was an experience. Most of Napels is pretty poor and grim. There are some nice parts in the center of the city. But in general it will be a culture shock.

Naples is a really nice Italian city.
Naples is a really nice Italian city. Previously I thought it is not so safe, but during my stay I never really had that feeling. People were friendly and helpful. Sometimes we had language problems, but we could always get what we wanted.
Vesuv, Pompei, Capri and Herculaneum was close by. I think even if we visited during early spring, we collected a lot of great memories & experiences.

Go to St Elmo's Castle in the first half of the day - the light is better for photos.
Gesù Nuovo is impressive inside.
Everything is very close and within walking distance.

Location near Via Toledo!!!
Location near Via Toledo!!! Better to stay in Spanish Quarter (Quartieri Spagnoli). Few steps to everything - port, castles, funicular, bus stop to the airport, ferry trips, sites of interest! 5min to supermarket Sole365-recommend (opened until 22:00), via Speranzella is full of trattorias. Recommend to visit Lombardi a Santa Chiara-very tasty and worth moneywise. Ferry to Capri-eazy to buy tickets and reserve the sit on the way back, so-better to plan
day visit and buy return ticket at Molo Beverello.

1st time in Naples and I'm surprised: there is everything:...
1st time in Naples and I'm surprised: there is everything: city walks with sunset by the sea, good food & pizza fritta, small chic restaurants for breaks, easy to reach Pompeii, Vesuvius or the islands - an exciting city!
My room, in the middle of Centro Storico, was great - it was centrally located, I could reach a lot of things on foot and had a great selection of cafés and restaurants
This is by far the best place to stay in Naples. Not book anywhere else. The host is responsive and met us on arrival. The apartment is clean with a well supplied kitchen. The host even gave us drinks and beer in the fridge-a welcome surprise. The neighborhood is safe with numerous restaurants and walking distance to all sights. The best thing is the delightful roof terrace with plants and small lemon trees. The host knows how to run an outstanding accommodation. Best place we’ve stayed in Italy. We can’t wait to stay again!
The location was very walkable to the historic district, restaurants & cafes. The room & bed was comfortable. I had to cancel a 2nd booking at this hotel end of Oct as my husband & I got sick & had to return home. to Canada. The property would not give me a refund due to different banking methods in Italy nor could they credit my credit card which is how I paid. I was very upset about this. & still don’t understand why this was a problem. For this reason I would not recommend this place.
nice attention from the front desk, helpful with information regards excursions and also let me leave my luggage even before check in time since I had an excursion earlier. Also great attention from the 2 employees at the breakfast, very nice and polite. I also appreciate the services that you can find at a hotel, as Italy is full of B&B and RBNBs i prefer the professional attention and amenities that you can find at a hotel ( as safety box, early or late check in, luggage storage, etc )
Boutique and beautifully appointed hotel. A real
treasure in the heart of Napoli. Walking distance to most sights and with easy access to the metro. Marco and his team are very friendly and helpful. Marco tried to find us a driver on a day when there was a Taxi strike in Italy. The room service breakfast is also really nice and the air conditioning works really well. Don’t forget to eat at pizza at Port’Alba pizzeria & have a coffee at Mexico and Posia. You won’t regret booking here.
Wonderful breakfast served on the rooftop terrace with a wonderful view of Naples. Gabriele and his daughter Enza, were gracious hosts. Gabriele went above and beyond to help make our last couple of days in Italy wonderful. He not only helped with our luggage upon arrival and departure, but also drove our car to and from the parking garage. He also entertained us with his beautiful voice, singing Neapolitan songs, as we sat on the rooftop enjoying our last evening in Naples.
It felt like a home from home, with lots of character, lots of art, beautiful views of Naples and all the facilities you could need! The host was incredibly helpful and gave us plenty of info before our stay, she got us breakfast last minute, arranged transport to the port and even continued to help with recommendations over WhatsApp for the rest of our time in Italy - thank you so much <3
Great location next to the central train station for further travelling by train (e.g. to Paestum), easily accesible by bus from the airport, nice staff, surprisingly rich and very good breakfast offering not only Italian sweet pastries but also some "salty" options (which is not typical for this type of hotel in Italy so the breakfast exceeded my expectations). Restaurants nearby.
Great location And Friendly owner :). He’s’ one of the best in Italy so far. The location is perfect as you have access to some of the Naples’ most historical area, streets and a easy access to public transportation. The room was comfy and cozy but equally large enough to fit my group of 4 adults. It’s a solid place of you’re looking for a place to stay in Naples.
Sergio is a fantastic host. The busyness of Naples was great to be part of but to be able enjoy a noise free space in the evenings and mornings with a beautiful view of Vesuvius was the perfect end to two a week trip through Italy. Breakfast was delicious. Sergio, again was so lovely, welcoming and generous with his time and advice. Highly recommend
Very close to the train but I didn’t hear it. There is a small supermarket right in front of the hotel. The parking was great.
In the same building one of the best Pizzerias of the whole of Italy has one of their restaurants.
The breakfast is better than expected, I really loved the salty multigrain Croissants.
Most of all the hostess that gave us such a warm welcome to a tasteful room in a great location in Naples. Delicious breakfast provided which is not always the case in Italy. Walking distance to the sights within Naples and close to stations for the train to Pompeii.
This beautiful room was perfect for our stay in Naples! The decor was stunning and the room was well taken care of. The washroom was spacious with a large shower and double sink. The host was helpful. The location was ideal. What a lovely stop on our trip in Italy!
Great stay for our last night in Italy! Close to the airport which is what we needed for a 6am flight the next morning. The staff helped us set up a taxi ride for the morning and was very friendly. The hotel and rooms are clean & nice! Great stay and great price.
Good hotel for visiting Pompei, Sorrento as is close to Napoli railway and also city center.
Good breakfast, sweet and savory choices, very clean room, very helpfull staff (we got an early chech in for half of our group).
Neapoli pizza, best in Italy by far.
The hotel was so beautiful, the pool was great, all of the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our room was cleaned everyday and aircon was the best we had in Italy. Breakfast was also delicious, staff will make you a cappuccino if you ask :)
Beautiful, freshly renovated hotel in a gorgeous historical location. Large, very comfortable rooms and the most friendly service I have experienced in Italy. We loved our stay in Maison Des Fleurs.
This location is in the heart of the historical district of Naples! Best Tandem restaurant right across. If you want to feel like living in Italy, this is your hotel!
It was close to the station, and the room was very clean and comfortable! I highly recommend staying at this hotel! Thank you for the wonderful time in Italy!
