Ragusa itself is a beautiful town and very walkable, I'd recommend three or four nights to do it justice. As a town it feels like tourism is an 'add-on' and therefore feels very genuine and Sicilian as are the restaurants all of which we thought were excellent. The only downside is the public transport, to go anywhere outside of Regusa we found to be quite a challenge as basically you have to rely on taxis, however maybe the transport issue is what has kept Regusa such a beautiful place so its not all bad!!!

Ragusa is an enchanting hill town in rural Sicily.
Ragusa is an enchanting hill town in rural Sicily. It is surrounded by steep gorges, with the town spreading up three steep linked hills. It's a fantastic place to spend a few hours exploring the narrow steep streets. We found some wonderful shops - intended for tourists, but good value. There were also fantastic eateries and the local people we interacted with all seemed charming and helpful. We ate dinner in La Bettola in Ragusa Ibla, which was delicious and great value.

Ragusa has two parts to it, the old and new.
Ragusa has two parts to it, the old and new. The old city is very beautiful and interesting to explore. The main street is fun with restaurants, shops and a park at the end with wonderful views of the valley and mountains beyond. We did not go up the hill to the new city however so we cannot characterize it.

I loved Ragusa, the roads are difficult with a larger vehicle but this shouldn’t put you off just research your routes and think about where accessible parking can be found. The new town is interesting but not touristy whilst the old town is a lovely labyrinth of medieval street and lanes with beautiful Baroque architecture. There are restaurants worth searching for and we particularly enjoyed the ‘5 senses’!

Ragusa Ibla is great for wandering around streets, piazzas,...
Ragusa Ibla is great for wandering around streets, piazzas, visiting the Duomo and churches, and admiring the architecture. There are plenty of places to eat but we found it best to have our main meal at lunch times as many places were fully booked in the evenings. We loved our 3 venue tour - Palazzo Arezzo, the Circolo di Conversazione, and especially Cinabro Carrettieri -artisans still making colourful traditional Sicilian carts.
We took the bus to Modica for a day trip, and another to Scicli, both lovely places. The bus times are not always accurate and bus stops often not easy to locate, but the tourist information office in the centre is helpful and open late.
Excellent location with no ZTL and free street parking. Located at intersection of Ragusa Ibla and Superiore, so it's convenient for any sightseeing plan. Very nice, modern room with fantastic, spacious shower with a views of Ragusa Ibla. Great breakfast brought to the room. Salvatore was a extremely helpful- waited outside to help us park the car and carry luggage to the room. Very responsive when we had a question and gave great advice regarding restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.
Our 2nd floor (3rd in US) room had the modern, understated comfort of a boutique hotel. Loved the big towels and the housekeeping service half way through our 4 night stay. The location was very convenient, on a quiet side street...an easy walk from the train station and 7 minutes walk to the stone steps (best views!!! Have your camera/phone handy!) that will lead you to the heart of Ragusa Ibla. Host very welcoming, helpful and responsive. Recommended!
Great location. Close to the city center and around wonderful Resturants, bars, and close to the bus stop!
The hotel used to be a castle I think the front desk girl said so that’s very interesting! The room for 130 euro and 150 usd for two nights, we thought we a deal!
They also offered breakfast which is wonderful traveling through Sicily!
The front desk woman was as helpful as she wanted to be!
Everything about our stay at Evoca was perfect! If you’re staying in Ragusa Ibla, don’t think about it just book a stay here with the delightful host Peppe. He has thought of everything & can’t do enough to make your stay the best it can be. The rooms are gorgeous & the views are spectacular. The home made touches for breakfast just make it so special. Thank you Peppe for everything.
Very modern room with plenty of space and a modern bathroom. The room sits apart from the main hotel across the square, but this was not a problem. Breakfast was excellent, served on the roof terrace of the main hotel. Parking was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The best thing about staying here though is the easy access to Ragusa Ibla and getting lost walking around the old town.
Best location in town to visit old Ragusa section. Walking distance to great restaurants and to all tourist locations. The hotel was extremely clean and the employees very friendly. Breakfast was the best during out visit to Sicily. The rooms clean, WIFI perfect for my 2 hours work per day. Amazingly roomy shower . We definitely will stay here all the time I visit Ragusa.
A perfect gem situated strategically between Ibla (Old city) and Ragusa, both easily reachable by bus or on feet.
Stefano takes the best care of his guests with lots of perks (like the best cannolli we’ve tried in all Sicily). The hotel is recently refurbished. And the coolest part is that it used to be a cave where native tribes used to live many centuries ago.
It’s a beautifully renovated property in Ragusa, within walking distance of Ragusa Ibla. It was comfortable, fantastically clean, a very attentive staff, superb breakfast. The property has a beautiful garden, a small pool and several patios to relax after a long day of walking and sightseeing. We’re looking forward to staying there again.
Beautiful newly renovated rooms, very friendly staff, great view, and excellent restaurant recommendations (go to Manaki!). The location is also very good with easy access to Ragusa Ibla and free parking. The breakfast is also good and varied. We only stayed one night but could have easily stayed longer!
Quite possibly our favorite accommodation in our 5 week trip to Italy. If you can get room #3, book it. It has a beautiful balcony with unprecedented views of Ragusa Ibla. Nanni is the hardest working B&B owner and very helpful. The breakfast he serves is 🔥🔥🔥. Great location between the two sides.
Great location very close to everything in Ragusa Ibla, beautiful garden with lovely views, comfortable bed and a fantastic breakfast. plus Joanna gave so much helpful advice and made delicious cakes for breakfast. She was also very supportive in providing a gluten free breakfast.
Our stay was exceptional in all we wanted. It couldn't be more charming, central, relaxing, spotless clean and friendly than we have had! We will definitely recommend to our family and friends that are in love with Sicily, especially Ragusa Ibla, as us.
The room was spacious and interesting, built partially into a cave. The staff was friendly and everything was very clean. There was a nice view of Ragusa Alta from the window. Once settled, location was good for exploring Ragusa Ibla.
Everything was perfect👍 great breakfast, nice room, clean bathroom. Situated between two old cities of Ragusa and Ragusa Ibla. Public parking just in front of hotel, only few places, but we found free place with no problem.
the view is simply amazing, best location to stay in Ragusa - you just want to stay in the balcony all the time how fascinating it is (room 01)
room is also spacious, and super clean.
one of the best experiences in Sicily!
The location was great, walking distance from the centre of Ragusa Ibla. We parked as they instructed us, and had a short walk to the hotel. Plenty of restaurants around, would highly recommend the salumeria on the corner!
Very cute small hotel in the center of Ragusa Ibla. Very close walk to everything. The hosts were nice and made a very good breakfast. It was good to have a hot water pot in the room. Internet worked well.
Great host, very kind and helpfull. The location is at the spot of Ragusa with the best view to the old town of Ibla. I would recommend it to everyone travelling to Ragusa!
Very comfortable, really great staff, fantastic location, parking at the hotel (but this is limited), super value. Couldn't have chosen better for Ragusa Ibla.
