Great location. Opportunity to feel part of the local community. Free from lots of tourists. Easy access to a range of local shops, including a wonderful bakery. Very close access to public transport.

The apartment was very comfortable. It was in the walking distance from the shops, restaurants, the bus stop etc. The walk to the beach was a bit long, and the streets were busy. I thought the resort town should be quieter. But Avola is a rather busy working town. The people are lovely, and the beaches are superb.

The apartment is located in a converted carriage house. The ground floor includes dining/ sitting area + kitchen + bathroom and the sleeping area is on a mezzanine. It's spacious and well equipped, the heating is provided (we stayed there in December) so it was cosy and warm. The hosts were very helpful - our daughter was running high fever and they advised on how to sort it out. The parking area in front of the building is quite tight - larger cars might have problems with access (it's an old town with quite narrow streets).

Centrally located to Noto, Siracusa, Noto, Marzameni, Pachino, Portopalo di Capo Passero. Also, near to Catania airport. Avola is not filled with tourist and have a chance interacting with locals. There are nice restaurants and cafes such as Trattoria Chapeau(family run, good food & service); Ci: Vulia (good food & service), Mangiafico @Viale Lido (breakfast, amazing gelato & Pâtisserie) & Avveduto Caffee (breakfast).

Alessio, Francesca and their wonderful daughter are such a lovely family. They welcomed us in a beautiful and elegantly renovated historical house, and were always stand-by in case we had questions. We particularly enjoyed our long evening talks while our daughters where playing in the courtyard (cortile). The house and location are ideal, just a 2-min walk from the historical center, yet silent and peaceful. The beach is equally within walking distance and the major highlights of the region are but a short car ride away (Noto, Modica, and Syracusa). There is an excellent coffee bar around the corner, Avveduto Caffè. where we went every day. The clientele there was simply amazing. La Carretteria was everything we could hope for. Thank you Alessio and Francesca. We will definitely come back!

Alessio and his wife were excellent hosts. Their property is charming and romantic yet also very practical. Having access to a kitchen and washing machine was a real bonus. The bathroom is a good size and the shower has many settings too. The accommodation is very close to the main square and easily walkable to the beach. There's a small courtyard to park. The occupants of the surrounding properties are also really friendly and welcoming. I'd happily recommend staying here.

La Carretteria è una struttura molto suggestiva, come suggerisce il nome un’antica Carretteria originale siciliana restaurata e adattata a struttura ricettiva. Ideale per chi, come noi, vuole assaporare scorci interessanti e inaspettati di Sicilia. La struttura è in centro, quindi si può arrivare a piedi ovunque (ristoranti, pizzerie, bar e pasticcerie per la colazione), è pulita e molto curata, dispone di una lavatrice e a disposizione vengono messi eventualmente detersivi, così come un rinfresco pronto in frigo all’accoglienza e le cialde di caffè. Alessio (il proprietario) è gentilissimo e molto disponibile per consigli e suggerimenti. Siamo stati molto soddisfatti della nostra visita, la consigliamo di cuore.
