Travelers who stayed in Bologna near Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ) have said good things about Hotel EMI, Hotel Del Borgo, and Villa Aretusi.
World-class cuisine is what Bologna does best. Nowhere in Italy, a country with considerable culinary heritage, is the food considered to be better than in this medieval gem.
Bolognese sauce of course originated here, but to try the real thing look for "ragú" on the menu. Cold meats and cheeses are also exquisite. Make sure you save plenty of time for eating – the Bolognese like to savor their food, so a meal can last for hours.
Many of the best eateries and homemade ice cream shops are found behind the mile upon mile of porticoed streets, now UNESCO World Heritage sites. The complex of medieval churches and buildings in cobbled Piazza Santo Stefano is a tranquil spot to explore. Climb one of the Two Towers nearby (not the one leaning at a startling angle) for spectacular views of this red-roof city.
The focal point of Bologna is huge Piazza Maggiore, whose Santo Petronio church has an unimpressive, half-finished façade that doesn’t prepare you for its sheer scale inside. Fanning out from this square, the buildings of Europe’s oldest university, founded in 1088, are home to the city’s best museums.
Bologna accommodations at Booking.com range from small B&Bs to luxury hotels, all easily accessible from Bologna Airport just outside the city.
Endless Porticos, enjoy it and keep walking. Cinema Modernissimo under the town hall square, watch a brand new movie and have a aperitovo while you wait.
Stay !! at the bar in Place Minghetty square ( not the restaurant) lots of food and wines, Stroll via Gallieta, small one amn tailors, pasta maker, fishmonger, nice cafe and restaurants.
Enjoy of film city to the west, if you pass the water automat in the wall ( with or without gas - yes its working ) you have found it

Bologna belongs to the most beautiful and friendly cities in the world. One of its biggest advantages is food – there is absolutely no risk that you will be disappointed, no matter which trattoria, pizzeria, osteria or gelateria you will choose. Everywhere the quality of the food is vey high. There are also splendid views and great, unique atmosphere. The Old Town is really worth seeing, you can walk there many times and you won't be bored.

The city is very walkable with a lot to see. We only visited very few sights on our short stay. The food is incredible and the architecture is magnificent around the whole city. The portico's are amazing and it was really easy to walk everywhere. There are various areas to eat in that are a short walk from Piazza Maggiore and the energy the city had made us enjoy it even more. It was bustling and everyone was so nice and genuine.

A city with many impressive buildings, the Cathedral of San Pietro, Piazza Magiore, the statue of Neptune, the Cathedral of San Luca, Palazzo dell Archiginnasia, small restaurants with traditional dishes, pasta, ice cream, pastries....
Some places that I liked, I recommend Impero, Nero patisserie, Principe in centro for coffee.

Bologna is a beautiful city, full of history, museums and lovely shops and places to eat and drink. We walked for miles and miles along the porticos which the city is famous for. There are many places you can visit from the city by coach or train. We had day trips by coach to Florence, and train journeys to Ravenna, Ferrara and Modena. Venice and Verona are further but still within reach for a day trip.
We had a winter 14 day break, we enjoyed exploring at our own pace, eating fresh food at the apartment and eating out at other times.

Although we stayed 3 nights which was perfect, we could have easily stayed longer as it was the most magical place to meander the streets and immerse yourself in it's wonderful food and culture. This is a MUST destination and a visit to the top of the tower in the square is well worth the climb (although it is very challenging climbing up the 100 year old ladder). It is an easy city to get around and the information center is incredibly helpful. The food is just amazing and if you so desire then cooking in your apartment is made easy by the abundance of fresh produce available at your doorstep. We as a family felt safe walking around at night. I cannot wait to return to this beautiful city that stole my heart.
Excellent location, about 15 minutes from the train station (very easy to find) and about 10 minutes into the centre. The hotel was clean and quiet. There is a lift, plugs next to the bed and toiletries provided. There are vending machines for hot drinks & snacks. My room was basic - no TV, there was a fridge & hairdryer provided, 2 huge windows so it was nice and bright. The staff, particularly Antonella (I think this is her name!) are fantastic - friendly, welcoming, helpful. I would definitely stay here again if I was in Bologna.
We only stayed one night before boarding our flight but it’s enough to make us desperate to go back. Bologna itself is a lovely city. Exactly what you picture when you think of Italy. The hotel itself is charming and architecturally interesting. And you couldn’t ask for a better location, right in the centre of the city, attractions a short walk away but down a quieter side street so you don’t hear any city noise.
The staff were delightful, so accommodating. Great with our baby and so so helpful. Would love to have stayed longer
The room and the bathroom are reasonably big -very clean and tidy also .Has good AC & many charging outlets.Breakfast was good . It has big parking area just opposite the hotel and cost 5 euros a day. Location is great if you like walking for more than a kilometre to the shopping centres and to Piazza Maggiore. Bus stops to the centre is nearby but as foreigners,it took us a day or two to get the hang of it .Overall,it was a great holiday .Bologna is an amazing city!Full of surprises!
We arrived during floodings in Emilio-Romagna region but the host met us outside with an umbrella. The house was magnificant, renovated art deco building from the 1930s. The room was TOP-Notch. Host helped us plan our Italy stay and warned us about flooded roads which was very helpfull. The bus stopped right outside and took you for 1 euro to central Bologna. Breakfast was nice and familier. Highly recommend. We will stay here next time we visit Bologna for sure.
Nice modern hotel. Centrally located between train station and centre of Bologna where the action is. Easy walks to both. While the hotel looks very nice, it was quite noisy inside and could easily hear street traffic and neighbors through walls at times. The neighborhood that the hotel is in is quiet and more residential/commercial - so limited dining etc in the evening. Hotel is kitty corner to a super market which was awesome to grab waters/snacks for cheap.
Just had 1 night here, but was happy with the stay. The room was large and spacious and the breakfast spread was varied, especially for Italian standards. There was an extra charge for fried eggs/bacon etc, however there were plenty of other great foods to enjoy that you don't feel like you needed them. Lots of restaurants in walking distance and took a bicycle to get into the centre of Bologna which was a great way to explore. Good parking in the hotel.
Riccardo couldn’t have been friendlier and more helpful during our stay. The B&B and our room was modern and tastefully decorated. The bed was the most comfortable we had in two weeks travelling through Italy. The breakfast is more than generous and super tasty. Highly recommend.
Tip for fellow travellers: you’re not in the heart of Bologna but it’s only a 10 min bus or 20 min walk to the centre.
After so many years of traveling, this is the worst experience that we had. The only positive was the communication with the Wonderful Italy staff, it went flawless and the location that is just steps away from the Bologna Centrale and the Bologna city center. Paula, the agent was helpful, she even made it to meet us earlier than originally scheduled.
The room was clean and comfortable. There was a open buffer breakfast with variation. The staff from the hotel picked me up with a shuttle in the night from the airport (€13). For me the price is totally fine. There is a bus station 300 m away from the hotel, where I could easily take a bus to the city centre of Bologna.
Excellent hotel in Bologna, 10 minutes way from the central train station. This is the second time I stayed here. The facilities are great. The staff is very kind also. Breakfast is ABUNDANT! This hotel is located near the piazza Maggiore and is on a shopping street. Very convenient.
loves how beautiful and centrally
located this building it! walkable to all of the old quarter in bologna with friendly and helpful staff. the rooms and the building are really the showstopper. there is parking available, but be sure to reserve through the hotel with your stay.
Outstanding location within 3 mins walk from the Bologna Central Station and about 15 mins walk to the City Centre. The hotel was a pleasant surprise and squeaky clean. The staff at the reception were super friendly especially Astrid and Cypeien. I would stay there again !
The hotel's location is perfect Right opposite the Bologna central station, literally 30 seconds away. The Marconi express (airport shuttle train) is only 7 minutes from the airport. Comfy rooms and clean too. Lots of restaurants around the area too.
Easy walk from Bologna Centrale and from the city center. Great dining all around the hotel. Staff was very friendly. Room was comfortable. Definitely would book again. Thank you to everyone that works at the hotel :)
A small boutique hotel in the heart of historical Bologna. Location is excellent. Room and bathroom on the small side but location and friendliness of the staff make up for it. I would definitely stay there again.
It's a cheap option to stay in Bologna. The room was fine, it was clean, but expect no luxury or cosy place.
The location was great, in 10-15 minutes walking you're at the central square of Bologna.
the hotel is situated in a very quiet neighborhood, not too far from the city center, not too far from Bologna Centrale train station, near to public transport means.
Hotel was in a great location of Bologna, centrally located and easy to walk to most attractions. We were met on arrival and check in was extremely smooth.
Good location right opposite Bologna Centrale train station. Restaurants, pharmacy, cafes in walking distance. Very clean and upscale hotel appearance.
