Venice is definitely the most beautiful and most romantic city in the world. Nothings is like Venice, and it is a breakthrough overwhelming beauty and ambiance. I am from Paris France (the most beautiful city in the 20th century) and resident in Dubai (the most glamorous city in the 21st century). Venice was both Paris & Dubai and the center of the world in the 6 & 7 centuries and combine the beauty, the glamor's and the history. Venice is an open indoor and outdoor museum and cultural atmosphere in every street, building, square, monument, palace and bridge.

Excellent city full of history. It is a time travel. Beautifull buildings, something to admide in every corner. Romantic. But. Too crowded. The things that you buy or eat are sometimes not of the best quality. So be carefull. Not friendly for people on wheelchair or other mobility problems. Too many bridges.

a wonderful city with almost too much to take in on a single visit so many fabulous buildings lots of good places to eat and easy to walk around but tiring The crowds of visitors, particularly of rather boisterous youngsters, probably means that later in the year it could be almost too busy we were fascinated to see late in the evening that St Marco was flooding several inches and we had difficulty getting into our hotel with dry feet!

Best thing to do in Venice is just explore on foot in narrow alleyways and get lost and find unexpected surprises around every corner. Could not see any museum other than Doge's Palace since there is so much to explore in Venice outdoor and on foot. Enjoy authentic Venetian food in small restaurants away from touristic places. Must try cicchetti (“chi-KET-tee”) from various small restaurants and Visit to Murano and Burano islands is must!

We went in early April. Venice is expensive and crowded.

We went in early April. Venice is expensive and crowded. E.g. a half hour on a gondola is 90 euros and a single trip on a vaporetto is 10 euros. The crowds around St Marks and the Rialto can be overwhelming and the bars and restaurants there are very expensive. Join them if you want but you will pay a premium on all food and drink and sometimes you literally cannot move because of the tourists jamming the narrow streets. But move away from those areas and you will find the quiet piazzas, churches, art, restaurants and so on which make a trip to Venice worthwhile and a little less expensive. A trip to the other islands and the Lido di Venezia is highly recommended. Beware mosquitoes!

Most of the interesting places to see are walkable from the place where we stayed. Venice is a very walkable city, just take your time and allow for times you'll get lost following google map coz at times, it would mess up depending on the satellite reception. We got lost many times but each time is a reveal of another interesting place. One is we're on our way back to our hotel, got lost and ended up in front of Leonardo Da Vinci museum which is quite cool and turns out to be one of our favorites. Better if you carry a map (which most hotels could provide you) mark the streets and always look up to the building coz that's where you'll see the street name written. On transportation, water bus ( the vaporetto) buy the Venice day Pass or the 2 day pass if you plan on visiting most places within the grand canal, it is a timed ticket you can use as hop-on hop-off. For convenience, travel light and avoid carrying heavy luggage when in Venice, You don't want to drag your heavy luggage up and down the bridges, there are no ramps so you've got to carry them. If you're just there for a day and have luggage's you need for your other trips, you can deposit your luggage inside the train station, they charge per luggage Euro 6 for the first 4 hours and they are open from 7am to 11pm, look for Kipoint Kibag

Without a doubt, Casa Renata is one of the best accommodations since I travel in Italy. The location of the apartment is ideal for visiting Venice, close to all the important places, and also close to the ferry station where you can take the ferry for another islands near Venice (Burano, Murano, Lido etc). It was a nice size for a family of 4 in a very convenient location in Venice. There was a supermarket (Coop)very nearby. Lucia was excellent at communicating with us and gave us helpful directions and suggestions for places around Venice. This apartment was a great place to stay. Our family enjoyed it very much. The kitchen supplies and washing machine were helpful. A note: set up a WhatsApp acct. to communicate with properties in Italy bc booking.com doesn’t seem to be a reliable way to communicate.

I loved the location as we could either walk to everywhere in Venice from here or take the vaporeto as it was close to several stops. And we loved the apt itself, it had so many windows so loads of natural lighting, plus the bathroom was modern and comfortable (rare find in Italy). One of the few to provide so many toiletries, the host really outdid herself in order to ensure we were comfortable.

If you stay in Venice during a heat wave, there is nothing better than an island with a 12th century monastery on it surrounded by a huge park with a nice pool inside it. San Clemente is our favorite place in Venice to stay, with its magnificent architecture and one of the best breakfasts you can eat in Italy. The staff is amazing. There is a regular ten-minute boat shuttle to San Marco.
