Lovely old Italian town, with excellent views of the region.
Lovely old Italian town, with excellent views of the region. A great place to base yourself for tours of the other towns nearby and visit the many wineries and organic farms in the area. There are many good cafes some such as Corsini the Patisserie for Breakfast, and Casa Corsini which has excellent wine and mezz for late afternoon or evening.

Castel del Piano is not a natural tourist destination but...
Castel del Piano is not a natural tourist destination but for those brave enough to vere away from the usual Tuscan towns it provides a glimpse into real Italian life. The famous Corsini company has its factory here as well as two great Corsini pasticerria where a coffee and pastry is always available. Corsini make the now famous Panforte. There's an interesting Kurdish bar that serves delicious baklava with an amazing modern fresco showing the origins of language and the Castagna (sweet chestnut) season brings local people in droves to pick these delicacies. Hunting still plays big part in the local economy and for those who enjoy meat the Cingiale (wild boar) is an interesting experience. The nearest city of Grosseto is the third largest in the Tuscan region and Siena is about an hour and a half's drive away for those who crave city life.

The hotel is well situated on a main street and has a large parking. The restaurant, the lounge and the garden were very well decorated with good taste. The room was bright and clean and the linen was immaculate white. The internet worked well in one day and didn't work in another day. The reception staff was very nice, kind and polite and provided guidance for what to see around the city. The breakfast was very generous.
For sure one of the most lovely and picturesque places I so far have been staying. You have a marvelous view on the surrounding landscape. The house is like in a picture book for this area (especially the terrace is beautiful) and the furniture is very special in the best sense. I am definitely coming back. The host is given very cool, special tips what you can do in the surrounding.
The property has clearly been recently restored/decorated and the quality and details are excellent, from the underfloor heating to the solid wooden doors, windows and shutters. There is plenty of space and plenty of storage with almost everything you need already in the house.
The house is in the woods but only 30 minutes walk from the centre of Castel del Piano.
The owner was friendly but made me fill in a whole form with lots of info. I never had to do this at any other B&B nor at a hotel. There is no name of the place on the gate, fortunately the owner turned up almost straight away so I knew I was in the right place. I was a little bit disappointed. I felt I paid a high price for what I got.
The view from the hotel room was beautiful, there was a balcony with chairs to enjoy the greenery. There were 2 rooms for 3 guests to stay at, which was nice. WC and shower were separate, which was also nice. The receptionist was helpful and friendly. The waiter at the restaurant was very professional.
Yoav and Perla are living in a wonderful place surrounded by olive trees and beautiful landscape. The guest house is really comfortable and you can enjoy your own private space by still always feel welcome to ask the hosts anything. We would absolutely come there a second time.:)
The hotel is in a good location, spacious, plenty of parking space. Costel del Piano is not huge place but you will find all necessities- shops supermarket.
The gentlemen on the reception was very nice
We liked the view from the tarasie.
We had a great time in this little house. Giulia and Paolo are very welcoming and friendly. The room is large, tidy and has a beautiful view of Castel del Piano. We highly recommend this place!
