Beautiful interior. Frustrated with air conditioning that did not work in the larger unit when it was 99 degrees out. Thought we would sit outside when sun went down to cool off but eaten alive by mosquitoes.
I Chechin - HOMY 5 TERRE is located in Volastra, just 11 miles from Castello San Giorgio and 10 miles from Technical Naval Museum.

The flat was centrally located for hiking down to Manarola and Corniglia. The shuttle bus up from Manarola was a great service for the eldest and youngest in our group. The 6 of us appreciated the space, kitchen, and quiet neighborhood.
In the historic center Monterosso al Mare, this small hotel offers a rooftop garden overlooking the Ligurian Sea. Its bright, air conditioned rooms include a 26" LCD TV and private bathroom.

what a great eclectic hotel. hip vibe, friendly, helpful staff. Love that there's a lift! Breakfast was pricey at 15 euros each but decidedly worth it. Able to store luggage for our day into Cinque Terre. Wish we could have stayed more nights.
In Monterosso Al Mare, Hotel Palme is a 2-minute walk from the public beach and Monterosso Train Station, which services other villages in the Cinque Terre.

Volastra is a lovely little village with amazing views of the sea. If you do not have transport then need to stick to the bus schedule. Quite high up.
Beautiful hikes in nature and through the vineyards.

Handy to Manarola, via (steep) walking track and shuttle bus, but away from the crowds. The two restaurants have limited options (especially for vegetarians) and are quite expensive, but the little village shops is quite good. We ate in other villages and made pleasing breakfasts and lunches with supplies from the shop. The village is small, so easy to walk. If you need your morning coffee, though, make sure you bring your own supplies.
Volastra is in the agricultural heart of the Cinque Terre, but still with views over the sea, and the terraced hillsides.

Volastra is an excellent alternative to staying in one of the Cinque Terre villages. It’s higher up on the hills than Manarola and Corneglia, but is easy to get to by car (make sure your hotel/apartment has parking) and buses run rather frequently to and from Manarola (and even Riomaggiore, but less frequently). Be aware that the bus schedule is less frequent during the mid-day hours as well as later at night. From Manarola, it’s very easy to hop on the train to go to any of the Cinque Terre villages. Volastra is the mid point on the trail hike Manarola-Corneglia and it’s very easy to access the trails. In my opinion the Volastra to Corneglia hike is THE most beautiful of all the Cinque Terre trails, and hiking from Volastra to Corneglia (as opposed to the other way) is also a little less strenuous. Same for Corneglia to Vernazza (as opposed to the opposite direction).

Volastra in itself doesn’t really offer much: it’s a quiet village with an amazing view. But the real deal is down at sea level.
A convenient bus takes you down to Manarola and from there you can get the train to visit the other ‘terre’.
If you buy the 5 terre card, you can hop on and off the bus and train as much as you want. It’s around 19€ a day per person, while the single bus fare is 1.50€

Volastra is a great place to escape to for some quiet time and relaxation. There is a shuttle that stops here, but we decided to drive. It is situated high on the mountainside. The trip up is a little difficult, but the views of the sea are well worth the adventure. There is an excellent restaurant Locanda Tiabisucion in the town. You can also easily trek down to Manarola and Comiglia.

This property was fine for a short stay.
This property was fine for a short stay. We stayed two nights, giving us an evening and a full day to visit the Cinque Terre. It was very close to public transportation to go down to Manarola where you can easily catch the train that stops at all the other Cinque Terre towns. The view from this apartment is incredible! Plan to have easily portable luggage because you will need to carry it up to the fourth floor. Thankfully, the host helped us with our carry-on sized bags that were pre-packed for a two night stay. The kitchen is awesome. There was no TV, but there was wifi. There is also a hiking trail that connects to Corniglia (another Cinque Terre village) very close to the apartment and a small store with food supplies. We didn't try the restaurant there, but it looked like it would be good.
Perfect location! The best way to enjoy Cinque Terre without all of the noise and crowds. Volastra is a lovely area with great views and along the hiking trail of Cinque Terre, so perfect to walk one way to Manarola or the other to go north to the next 3 (Corniglia etc). Lovely terrace to enjoy sitting outside, and close to Locanda Tiabuscion restaurant (wonderful!) and a small market. Andrea was so helpful with check in, where to park pie car, and bus timetables.
The space was very comfortable and cute. The private bathroom is always nice to have. There is a great view from the small porch. Andrea was a great host and helped us out many times throughout the trip. This property is in a small village above Manarola, which was a nice thing once the heavy crowds started rolling in. We could escape to our little village! The spot is also very close to some of the famous Cinque Terre trails!
The view! Sitting on the terrace up in Volastra was the Cinque Terre dream come true. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful (set you up nicely for a day of hiking). Two restaurants and a small shop were handy but with some planning (and do book!) dinner down in Manarola doable. Just don’t miss the bus, it’s a long walk up!)
I would recommend fully for a great stay away from the crowds.
Although not in the heart of one of the 5 Cinque Terre towns, transport via a small bus to Manarola is easy, and the location and view are great. Apartment was clean and well furnished. Our 4- night stay was marred by overcast conditions and rain, until our last day when the sun shone through. With the help of the train service we were able to visit all 5 villages in a day.
The location is fantastic with a good view towards both Manarola and Corniglia. Good starting point for hiking to both villages. Very good breakfast that can energize you for the trekking. We would like to give our special thanks to the hotel staff who helped to collect our forgotten bag at the local bus stop, really appreciated!
We loved our stay. Antonella was a very welcoming and informative host, always there to help. The location was ideal for exploring the Cinque Terre with the shuttle bus down to Manarola, and the rooms were spacious and clean. We also appreciated the free car parking so we didn't have to worry about our car while we were there!
Our stay was absolutely great thanks to the owner of this hotel. She provided many useful information and recommendation, which really helped us. Great breakfast, clean room and great location. We also appreciated possibility to park our car in garage, so we didn't have to worry about it.
exceptional location, large clean, comfortable room,
incredible views from terrace, very reasonable rate parking. 2 great restaurants and a local shop in the village. a local bus runs between volastra and manarola. friendly helpful hosts. beautiful hike from volastra to Corniglia
Everything was excellent! Antonella was a wonderful host! The hotel was extremely clean, staff very friendly and helpful! Breakfast was delicious. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious and beds comfortable! The hotel was very well Maintained ! We loved our stay!
The view was beautiful! It was very peaceful to come to the home after a busy day in cinque terre! Such a unique property that gave us a really cool experience. Mattresses were comfortable and basic necessities were provided. Our kids loved watching the animals.
Hotel II Saraceno is way up the mountain from Manarola, but what a wonderful experience! It is beautiful up there, near the hiking trail over to Corniglia and near wineries, and the Sanctuary church. The hostess was great, and the room was simple and just right.
The Location is so nice and secluded from the busy towns of Cinque Terre. We loved being able to use it as a refuge after hiking around all day. The kitchen is a great bonus and has enough equipment to cook for yourself. The host stocked everything really well!
Awesome spot in Volastra. One of the more quiet towns in Cinque Terre which we really enjoyed. Andrea was a great host and the room was comfy and as described. We had a car and it was also one of the easier towns to get too. Would recommend staying here!
Loved the location, Volastra, escape from the busy cinque Terre during the day. The view from the apartment is just stunning, the sky meets the ocean. There are 3 wonderful restaurants in Volastra and breathtaking hikes with amazing views.
Volastra is an ideal spot for a chilled winter retreat. Very peaceful and surrounded by dramatic scenarios, yet very close to the Cinque Terre, well connected with a shuttle bus. We parked our car and mostly moved by public transport.
modern, bright, very clean, good attention to detail, well equipped for basic BnB, cooking needs. Great use of space indoors and lovely courtyard space. Lovely views of hills in peaceful surrounds of Volastra. Very secure property.
- excellent location.
- excellent restaurant 5 mins walk from the hotel, it is a must.
- Antonella, the hotel manager is a very autentic person and very helpful.
- garrage.
This hotel is located away from the tourist congestion of the small Cinque Terre towns but easily accessed by bus from Manarola. The view from the hotel is spectacular.
