Sand beach, free next to the water. Wonderful view from the beach. We tried trattoria "L'angolo di Mondello Trattoria da Franco" on Piazza Mondello and "Alle Terrazze". The first one (Franco) is a family-driven local, traditional place, the second one is a first-class restaurant with a very high standard, with excellent panorama view.

Very friendly and hospitable host - Roberta. Fab breakfast, home baked cakes every morning with a huge choice of goodies incl eggs anyway you like i.e. poached, scrambled, omelet's etc. Quiet location but within a very short walk to the beach and a 10 minute walk to the centre ... The room was lovely, very clean and spacious with a great balcony, the air-con was wonderful too ...

Beautiful scenery, close to Palermo, sandy beaches and few local restaurants. We were out of season so I am sure it's more buzzing during the summer. There was a great restaurant with fresh sea food just across the Art Hotel.

Mondello has all the capabilty to be a first-rate tourist destination: the sandy beach, the transparent clear water, the landscape, the old villas. I just can't understand why they can't keep the streets clean to match the natural environment. The rubbish almost ruins everything.

Mondello is a lovely little town with some good restaurants and a beautiful beach! It is only a 30 min bus ride away from Palermo and the busses are cheap and easy to navigate. It is not a party town, but was perfect for us as the beach was a 5 minute walk away as were many nice cafes and restaurants. We walked out to Capo Gallo, which was really beautiful and great to be able to jump into the ocean for a quick cooling down.SigrúnUnited Kingdom - 8.0Scored 8.0
Palermo and the surroundings are dirty - you have to get...
Palermo and the surroundings are dirty - you have to get used to it. However staying in Mondello is much better than staying in Palermo center. Mondello beach is sandy and nice, the beach is clean. There are lots of restaurants and you can find all services you need in the nearby (supermarket, laundry...etc.) There is a bus going to Palermo center (nr 806).

You can also reach the beach by bus Nr87 which is free. Among amenities is air conditioner. The neighbourhood is quiet and safe. Nearby are tasty pizzeria, ice cream shop, sicilian street food cafe and a few nice restaurants. The best part of staying was very warm and kind attitude from Silvia and of course great breakfast on the terrace. Great vacation. I would recommend staying there.

If you enjoy walking: groceries, beach and restaurants are all within a 20 minute walk. We had toured Sicily the two weeks prior and found this a nice place to relax before going home. The beach in Mondello is one of Sicily’s best, and hiking up Mt Gallo was great. We took a taxi to/from Palermo airport (€50) and felt we didn’t need a car. The kitchen was small but seemed fully equipped, we only made breakfast there.AAnonymousCanada

He takes you on a tour once you get there of the place and ensures you know how to use everything before he leaves. He also has a SUPER in-depth paper within the room that has loads of information like: emergency numbers, buses to go to nearby areas, best restaurants and so much more! Also a front patio off the living room and the house is well decorated. Full kitchen, four bathrooms, nice bedrooms in a neighborhood of large single homes with parking in front. About a five minute drive to the beach with plenty of restaurants and stores. The host was readily available and checked in with us several times to see if anything was needed.

The host was very friendly and accomodating, Guiseppe helped us organised transport to go to the coach station to grab our tickets to the Seattle outlets and also the Airport for the journey back. Note, cabs take forever to book and rarely visible on the Cab apps. Better to pre-book everything.

Homemade dinner was the best meal we had in Sicily. Highly recommending for holiday stay. Definitely planning to return next year!

Mondello is also a convenient place to visit Palermo city from as regular buses leave during the day from a location 15 mins walk from the apartment.

Room was nice, good accommodation, bathroom clean, you can see the beach and the sun welcomes you in the morning. I would definitely will be staying next time.
