It's a mini world of its own out there!
Come for the calm, peace and doing things at your own pace if solo traveling. If with friends, there are plenty of things to do as well. There are plenty of food options (non-vegetarian would be much less since it's a holy, religious spot). Cafes and restaurants abound! Random shopping for knick knacks and 'hippie' clothing is sorted. My favourite bit remains the serenity at the quiet spots at the river bank. Go and just inhale and exhale. Take a dip or two. Swimming is to be cautious and it's good there are regular announcements for visitors' safety as one shouldn't underestimate the calm flow of the huge river Ganges is. Rafting should be done if going for the first time. I haven't done it a second time around in my other two times there but would be game to check out the other adventure activities maybe next time. Maybe I should plan a longer trip and do indulge in yoga and all as it'll only be good for the body and soul. Another good thing is that if one plans, Dehradun, Mussoorie, Haridwar are all nearby. It's a great idea to get a two wheeler on rent as that makes mobility great.

Many years ago it used to be a good place to experience real indian Ashram life and you could meet quite a few spiritually impressive teachers and Swamis. You could sit quietly at the Ganges and join one of the many Kirtans in the evening. Prices reflected that atmosphere and time would pass quickly when you immersed yourself in that lifestyle.
But that time has long disappeared and nowadays it lives only on reputation from those days.
Everything is about money, even the Ashrams are now run as commercial enterprises and the quality of the teachings is mediocre at best.
You can get better Yoga training in most cities in the west.
There are lot of westerners having based themselves here to teach and rake in the money from naive tourists. Even the sadhus that would roam the streets have disappeared.
A lot that is being sold comes from China and everywhere there are Ayurvedic clinics and Well-being Spas and bad Latte's or cappuccinos cost as much as in the west.
Plastic pollution is really bad.
Check out McLeod Ganj, they are doing a bit better managing their heritage and nature surroundings.
Cheers

Rishikesh is a great place for tourists to stay.
Rishikesh is a great place for tourists to stay. It combines the warmth of Indian culture, nature, adventure sports, good cafes and restaurants, and choices for accommodations. It is known for its Ashrams more than temples

On second day of stay we have visited Neer Waterfall,Which is great option to go.First day we went on triveni ghat for evening aarti and that was very goof experience . Also visited Neelkanth Mahadev Temple which is a great place to visit.Ramjhula and Lakshman Jula are great places to visit.Do not park your car on road side as high chances of challan by traffic police. If you want to have food like home , you may go approx two km away from tapovan. You may find good food on reasonable prices.

The beauty and majesty of nature is seriously showcased here with a strong undercurrent of spirituality. If you’re also interested in the ancient Vedic scriptures and its glorious tales of the Gods, you can feel it here. Also science has proven the value of bathing in the Ganges which is un polluted at this point of the river which is close to the source. For the more adventurous folks, there is mountain climbing, bungee jumping, and rafting in the river which has some rapids.

Absolutely charming atmosphere!
Absolutely charming atmosphere! The cozy ambiance instantly puts you at ease. Friendly host, delightful decor, and delicious treats. A hidden gem for relaxation and indulgence. Can't wait to return!
I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. The room was clean and simple but the support and attention from Lalit and his wife was exceptional. He picked me up from the central bus stand, arranged for urgent root canal work and placed me in the hands of an excellent dentist, took me there and back, gave me a siģhtseeing tour of Rishikesh.I was accompanied by Pryanshi ,his wife and friend to the Arti ceremony. They were always available and ready to help with humility and kindness, expecting nothing in return..A big warm THANKYOU for all you did for me!
Extended my stay from 1 week to 2 weeks and plan to return. This is a great hotel and accessible for people with limited mobility. The best hotel I've stayed at in Rishikesh. It is always clean and the staff are very respectful and helpful. It is very safe for female solo travelers. You have the Parmarth ashram right next door and access to the river Ganges. Plenty of places to eat at and get supplies. There is always staff available 24/7. I extended my stay. Hot water is available and so is laundry facilities.
We are here for the third time in the last couple of weeks.
Very good location, close to Tapovan main road but a quiet and calm place. A very modern hotel, large rooms, very clean and at a high international level. Breakfast was teasty.
The service of the entire staff is great and kind. Have to mention the hotel manager who was very attentive and gave the feeling of home stay.
Compared to other hotels visited in India and Rishikesh, definitely worth at least 4*.
Highly recommend!
The location was fabulous just on the banks of the Ganga. We could take walks along the river banks, have breakfast by the riverside. It was in main Rishikesh yet the hotel side was relatively calm and peaceful. View from the hotel rooms and public areas was stunning. The buffet breakfast and dinner was delicious with wide array of vegetarian mouthwatering food. The spa has some very good and relaxing massages, is a must try.
The room was much more spacious. It was clean and well-maintained. The staff was very friendly. although the location is not correct on booking.com. The hotel is situated a bit far from the main road. The road is steep and if you are traveling with family or Senior citizens, you must book an auto to reach the hotel. at last, a good option is to stay in Rishikesh at a very affordable price.
The staff was exceptional, very friendly and always willing to help.Very nice room and very comfortable bed. Everything was very neat and clean. The spa service and the massage were really good! I spent two nights but I would like to spend more time!!.
I totally recommend this hotel to anyone who comes to Rishikesh and wants to be in a peaceful, quiet, beautiful ❤️ area.
For us, it was first time to visit Rishikesh so was not sure where to book a hotel, but we were really glad that I chose Around stays. location was great as everything was close and convenient. Room was very clean as much as photo shown in booking.com, comfortable and nice owners and staff.
if you stay in Rishikesh, highly recommend!!
I visited this place yesterday with my friends.. We were searching for a good and nice property around Tapovan and finally decided this hotel ... It is worth for money, very good and new accommodation..
Very Good staff , clean and neat rooms. Breakfast was very good.. Property is easily accessible..
The staff at this hotel in Tapovan are always willing to go the extra mile to ensure their guests have a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
I was impressed by the level of cleanliness and attention to detail at this hotel in Rishikesh. The staff truly care about their guests' comfort and satisfaction.
To pen down the experience i had, it was indeed a grean
stay at the hotel. Not a very big property, but indeed a
cozy, decent and also very calm location, infact close to
aiims, rishikesh. The food was also good and tc
mention, the staff were very courteous and the room
service was really quick.
Very helpful staff and super quick check-in/checkout formalities. Rooms are very neat and spacious with balcony sunrise and mountain view. Worth every penny. I took my parents on a week long trip to Rishikesh, and this was the only hotel we had a great experience at.
The Owners of Stay Around, Nakul & Dristhi are warm and friendly. Made me feel welcome. A homely feel rather than a hotel type of feeling. Plus sharing insights about Rishikesh and great places to check.ou and eateries to.enjoy.
The location (Tapovan) is really nice given the proximity to the market area and cafes near Lakshman Jhula. The hotel is clean and well maintained for sure and you won't face any major problems if you choose to stay here.
The hotel is located on heart of Rishikesh.the stay was very peacefull no sound of traffic no crowd i like this place near by laxman and ram jhula all over the stay was very good and peace full and full of joy
This is an excellent Hotel. Brilliant for Rishikesh. Upper budget for India but after a week trekking in the Himalayas it was perfect for a couple of night rest with hot showers, good food and excellent staff.
The location of the hotel is great, near laksham jhoola and good cafes near by.
Also the staff is very friendly supportive and extremely helpful.
I will prefer to stay there every time i visit rishikesh
