Burkedale House is set in the archaeologically rich landscape of Dysart O'Dea in Co. Clare Ireland with outstanding elevated views of Burren mountains and Fergus River valley. The Cottage is a self contained deluxe self catering traditional Irish cottage with all the facilities for modern day living. Free parking is available on site. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar and toiletries are provided as standard. Additional breakfast hampers can be purchased on request. Guests can enjoy wandering through the landscaped gardens, relax on the large patio or sit in the oriental tea house to enjoy the outstanding views. Burkedale House is an excellent base for touring Shannon region, Coast, Galway, Kerry. Extensive range of DVDs blu ray movies books and board games are available for guests to enjoy.

We are looking forward to welcoming you to Burkedale House our family home for 20 years. Tony is originally from Dublin and Joanne from Oxford. They met over 30 years ago in London. They wanted their children, Naomi & Hamish to be educated in Ireland hence the move to Clare in 2001. The proximity to Shannon Airport was key in their choice of location as Tony, an IT Consultant, commuted for work. Tony was familiar with the county from his rock-climbing days and Joanne was soon to fall in love with its diversity. Following retirement from nursing in 2017 we purchased the 100-year-old traditional Irish cottage next to the house and spent 6 months renovating it and further landscaping the gardens, before welcoming We welcomed our first guests in April 2018. At this time we also offered B7B in the main house and Joanne became legendary for her breakfasts. A new contemporary apartment was added in 2020. No longer doing B&B guests can still avail of our breakfast baskets delivered to the door of your accommodation. Bali, our border collie, is a real hit with the guests.

Your hosts Joanne & Tony are qualified Nordic and fitness walking instructors and offer a variety of walking experiences on site, from walks with picnics & Prosecco to walks with afternoon tea. We are easy to find, just 30mins drive from Shannon airport, 3 hours from Dublin, and 2.5 hours from Cork airport.
