We arrived in May during a bit of an off-season in tourism but all tours and shops were still open and accessible. We stayed for 4 nights as it was our first location of the trip and just wanted to get our bearings. I’d recommend 2/3 nights. Tela isn't insanely rich with different tourist thing you can do, however they have some very nice beaches. The overall vibe was pretty welcoming, we stayed mostly within a 15 block radius of our hotel (Maya Vista). Highly recommend staying there as well as going to eat just a few buildings down at The Family Food Truck. Again wonderful family vibe, good food and drinks are available and decent prices.
The staff is amazing. Everyone was very friendly, enquiring about our stay and whether we were happy with everything (including activities outside the hotel).
The rooms and the rest of the facilities were kept spotless. We saw a number of improvements (refreshed rooms, an additional pool, and a new building which is yet to be finished). The hotel has managed to keep up with the homely vibe. The internet was very good (managed to work without IT-related interruptions). The food was of very good quality.
We stayed inside this family's big, gated, and safe complex. Their yellow home was in front and our small apartment was in the back, along with an outdoor kitchen and dining area, and a nice swimming pool.
The mother of the main host guy was super kind to us, as well as generous and helpful! She took care of us and showed us the good spots in Tela to find food, drinks, and groceries. She was also very helpful with figuring out the Bus system for our departure from Tela.
the house is located about 20 minutes from downtown. You will most likely have the whole beach to yourselves. The home is well maintained and has a great art collection from Honduran artists. The couple who lives in the property are very helpful and are very well worth the bit of extra money.
The hotel is ok, the cabins in the woods, away from the pool, are great. We found food that we liked, which is not always the case for all inclusive. The staff was very helpful. The beach access is great.
The location is great, the hotel is beautiful with a great environment. The whole place was super clean, the staff was very nice and the food is delicious. Will come to this hotel every time I'm in tela.
Small hotel with friendly vibes. Included a typical breakfast which is quite simple but delicious. Good restaurant and really nice area for eating. The toucan is beautiful and they also have turtles.
Very homie, clean and comfy!
Front desk Karina was very very nice and professional. Amazing staff!
Right I front of the beach, local restaurants, music and food.
Accommodations were, nice and conformable, it is quite and near the beach and the market as well.
Food was good and the facilities were well maintained.
