Beautiful little island, very lively!
Beautiful little island, very lively!
The bright colors of the building and the nice sunset views by the water are a great + to this place, and it is very easy to get around
I recommend trying out the street food @tacospeches, very good and super cheap
The town is located 1h30 drive from the ruins of Tikal, and up to 6 shuttles leave daily to get you there
Would recommend around 3 days in Flores!

The island has really noce restaurants and night activities.
The island has really noce restaurants and night activities. it is really easy to get around and people is willing to help you with directions.
Prices are much higher on the island, so is better to buy the stuff you need (sun block for example) outside of Flores.
We had a local guide that took us for the sunrise on tikal were you get to enter the park at 4AM and walk in the jungle still at night.
Then we did the sunset in Yaxha which is amazing.
Flores is a 10 min drive from the airport, so its a really good point for staying.

Loved the walk around Flores and all the little shops.
Loved the walk around Flores and all the little shops. Great ice cream place on lakeshore. Yummy !
When we got tired from walking after 5 miles that day( not all there) we hired a tuk tuk to bring us back to the hotel. Will definitely be returning there for a longer stay.
Boat tours looked interesting for a future adventure.
We drove and had to get used to the one way streets to get around Flores and find our hotel but so worth the effort. Parking was not an issue though. We parked at hotel and took off on foot

Airlines are a mess.
Airlines are a mess. Avianca overbooked my flight into Flores and was booked the next day. Tag Airlines delayed 2 hours and 15 minutes my flight into Guatemala City. I have been seating at the airport in Flores over 4 hours and I am expected to get to Guatemala City around 0:30 Am (I was supposed to arrive at 10:15 pm)

The island of flores is small and easy to walk. sunset views...
The island of flores is small and easy to walk. sunset views are very good from rooftop bars / restaurants. All are within 5 -10 minute walk.
We chose to take a lake ride to El Mirador and then to the beach Playa Chechenal.
Many sites are available to take day trips .These can be very long days especially to Tikal. We went to Tikal independently and it is highly recommended. I would recommend at least 1 night if not two.
We stayed inside the park at Tikal Inn. It has air conditioning and a swimming pool , we were very pleased and staff is great.
Flores island is really tiny so it’s just 5-6 minutes walk from the shuttle drop off point (I love Petén sign) to the hostel. There’s a small kitchen with 4 gas hobs + fridge + coffee machine + clean plates and utensils + spices. Refillable water provided. The family helps to wash the dishes for us which is really nice. There are 2 shared toilets outside and a shower, and they’re clean. Bed was clean and decent but I didn’t have a good sleep because it was toooooo hottttttt in the room
The hotel is perfect for what it is. The staff are friendly and always ready with a smile, but don't expect English. We checked in after dark and the door was locked, but we were quickly let in. The young man at the desk was very nice. The room was clean and had a beautiful balcony. The view of the lake was really nice. The price was good. The hotel is older, but it is well maintained. Air conditioning worked well. I would choose to stay here again when I come back to Flores.
I liked the quiet, beautiful location in San Miguel. It was easy to get across the water by boat for dinner or sightseeing in Flores. Peter and his wife were great hosts and really make the place a must stay. He organized everything we needed very well and was always willing to go the extra mile for his guests. The boat tour he gave us was fun, and the meals we had in the hotel were very good. We also really enjoyed the pool in the hot afternoons.
The hotel and its location are unique for those seeking tranquility in a beautiful and secluded place that is not captured by the great hustle and bustle of Flores or Tikal. The entire complex with its bungalows and houses is excellently maintained and tastefully decorated. From the balconies one has a view of the lakes. Due to the seclusion, it is not only very quiet at night, but also so dark that the place is ideal for observing the night sky.
There are some hotels only for sleeping, you forget them as soon as you leave. A stay in Amina is an unforgettable experience, José and his friendly team will make everything to make you feel at home and enjoy your stay. On top of it, it's extremely clean, quiet (which is not granted in Flores), with a shaded patio full of flowers and birds with a nice restaurant in it.
The location is very nice, the staff was friendly and there is a travel agency inside that makes it very easy to book basically everything you would like to do in Petén area. Food is good, but a bit expensive. The atmosphere was great and we had a private room which was very good and clean. There is a storage room and a Jacuzzi.
I loved everything about it. my room was awesome with this great view.
The restaurant probably the best one under the “hotel” category. the staff was amazing, the front desk guy (can’t remember his name) was so nice on making things very easy.
100% convinced I’ll visit Isla De Flores again and for sure stay at this hotel.
The Hotel is located really close to the main entrance to Flores Island. It has nice balconies and it's quite fresh. The cleaning is spotless. We saw they moving the beds to clean all around it one day. It's always smelling fresh and new, we had 2 big beds and the bathroom was ok.
Nice hotel on the coast of Peten Itza lake. Location is good, within walking distance to Flores town center. Stuff was polite and helpful, WiFi was working well. Food was good. Overall, it is a good place to stay in Flores.
excellent all round, service impeccable and fab staff! The museum is a must see, one of the best private collections of Mayan history. We stayed in some of the best hotels in Guatemala and this was our favourite.
The view is the best, spacious room, hot water in the room and delicious coffee every morning. the staff and property is not as the bad reviews say. I would stay 10 more times at this hotel. it is my favorite
Best location in Flores!!! The room was very clean, the view was fantastic, and the stuff helped us with everything we needed and more, especially Carlos!
