This place is a real gem. The most important feature is the view from the very large terrace, you will not tire of it whether it be in the morning for breakfast or int he evening for drinks and dinner. The house is a real family house, not a house set for rental only, so there is al the amenities of a real house, the kitchen is large and well furnished, the rooms are large and well decorated. The whole house has very good vibes and is charged with history, the gardens are superb. Our host was really friendly and the communication was excellent. The island of Symi is not for people who have mobility problems. Do not be put off by the fact that this house is above the village, it is easily reachable by a road. But if you love walking like me you will soon discover your way through the village and will be able to reach the heart of Chorio in 10 minutes and the port in 30 minutes.

Astradeni is situated in the peaceful upper village of Chorio, the oldest part of Symi. Surrounded by the grass-covered garden, filled with flowers and plants, Astradeni holds the beauty of the island within its yard. The beauty extends beyond its gardens to the nature-touched, breathtaking scenery, along with its fantastic view of three bays: Nimborio, Harbour, and Pedi Valley, offering a unique, authentic flavor of Greece. The renovated, three-storey, villa is built in stone, with the bottom floor dating back to the 16th century. With its original décor dressing its walls, Astradeni is a special place with a warm flavor, giving a sense of living in history. Astradeni is ideal for 4 people but there is extra space for another 2. Distance from key locations: - Gialos (port): by car: 10 minutes, 5km by foot: 20 minutes descending, 40 minutes (max) ascending - 700 stairs to the inland - Pedi bay (beach): by car: 5 minutes, 3km by foot: 20 minutes descending, 40 minutes (max) ascending - take the stairs to Chorio and then proceed through the road Free parking exists right outside the residence. The local bus station is located 5 minutes away (about 50 stairs).
The port is a 20-minute walk through the famous Kali Strata in which you can enjoy the traditional Symian houses, and get a sense of the island’s history. Its remote location, offers the silence of the countryside with all the comforts of the city, providing you the perfect opportunity to relax in the fresh air of Chorio. Within a 10-minute walk, traditional cafes and Greek restaurants can be found.
