To be honest-it' just for hardcore travellers or backpackers yet. It's not an easy destination, they still need to improve in many ways. The people are very kind - but they are poor. There is rubbish everywhere - Sad to see it. But they are working on it, more and more attracions open every year for you to discover. The mountains are beautyful. If you don't expect too much, please support Georgia with your travel and money.

Great place especially the bridge & restaurants by the river .. 160 km away Uplistsikhe Cave Town is a must if travelling between TBILISI & KUTAISI. Food and restaurants are excellent in both. Ambience is great.
The flat is new and very well equipped with spacious lounge. Very secure with courtyard and gate and quiet. Lovely people.
Very good place to chill out in. We were a couple and a Lady friend. Thank you. We were only there 2 days but will return.

The city is nice, but to be honest after time I regret that we did not went first to Batumi or Tibilisi. For me personally, this city is good but for 1 or max. 2 days of sightseeing, after more time I would get bored. The city is very old, sometimes you can feel that it is still not so adapted to the tourism. Nice place for people that are facinated about history and old buildings. Maybe in the summer it has more to offer. We went in March when there was nothing much to do.

To see:
To see:
Prometheus Cave (it is not as touristy as the negative reviews I read, and most of the caves are lit by white light with some colored lights so you see the natural rock colors - it is awesome, the size and formations)
Motsameta Monastery (beautiful, small, on a mountain with a frescoed church and views of more of the Caucasus and river...I heard Gelati is great too but did not see it)
Bagrati's Cathedral and the surrounding ruins, including kvevrebi (clay wine jars in the ground)
Kutaisi Botanical Garden (Bagrati is on the way to this, depending on where you stay), 5 lari admission fee (bring small bills - I found out not everyone has change for 100 lari)...beautiful and with an Orthodox shrine in a tree!
Bukioti (small, colorful cafe with cacao and of course coffee, tea, hot chocolate, as well as achma (a type of khachapuri made with puff pastry) and the best desserts (lava cake, apple dessert which is an air-fried apple filled with nuts and raisins, both topped with vanilla ice cream, and others)
El Paso restaurant - good khinkali
Kolkha Fountain that is in the city center (gold-toned animals with 2 horses on top and a lit in different colors at night)

Beautiful city. It was clean, friendly people.
Beautiful city. It was clean, friendly people. The food was amazing. We went during the winter so the snow was great and everything was running smoothly. Most of the places to visit are at most 1 hour away. Would recommend to go with the local tour guide rather than driving yourself just because the streets and signals are not clear for a foreigner. Food and ticket entries are very affordable. For a trip for a family of 5 people, we did not waste more than 1000 euros

The journey to Kutaisi is like a journey to the past.
The journey to Kutaisi is like a journey to the past. It is nice to see wild world, wild city like Kutaisi. Everything goes slow (apart from road traffic) and food smells and tastes so good.
Go to Kutaisi and feel it yourself!
Stayed here with two of my friends before flying out of Kutaisi. I wished we had spent more nights here as the view is very beautiful it is by the Rioni river. We had a balcony as well in our room so it was perfect to have coffee on it in the morning. Elsa was a very kind and communicative hostess. She helped us with anything we wanted. I also loved that the room we booked had plastic slippers for us to use. The location is also very near the city centre. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Kutaisi, definitely pick Gantiadi Hotel.
Everything was great in this hotel and will definitely recommend to our friends.. it’s a very central and walking distance for all shops, cafes, bar and restaurants in Kutaisi. The room was so pleasant, comfortable and clean😊..
The host Niko was so helpful and attentive to all of our request.. thank you so much Niko for making our stay worthwhile your customer service is so exceptional💯 you even took your effort to help us to get the bus ride and paid our fare going to bus station.
I booked this hotel for my family who were flying home from the Kutaisi airport. They were happy with the facilities and staff made them feel welcomed offering to take them to the airport when taxi didn’t show up in the morning. They also had an early flight so couldn’t benefit from the breakfast that was included in price, but hotel administrator offered them some beverages with apple pie:)
Nice, clean rooms and very good location close to center. The owner is super hospitable and can tell you a history of each place in Kutaisi (and all Georgia). He is very helpful and made us feel very welcomed. Worth to mention that owner picked us up from airport at 3:00 on morning and welcomed us with homemade wine and chacha.
Will definitely stay again next time.
The description of Sanapiro Hotel is very simple. Everything was perfect! Hotel facilities, rental car, pick-up at the airport, language skills of the staff, great breakfast! I have nothing to complain about. The staff are family and we felt like we were related to them. I hope that we will return to Kutaisi and especially to the Sanapiro Hotel.
The owner was super helpful, ready to fulfill all our requests and needs: be it minor like borrowing a corkscrew, or major, like last minute rescheduling of transfer to the airport in the middle of the night.
The hotel is located on a hill, next to Bagrati Cathedral, which provides stunning view on the town and the mountains.
A good hotel in the very centre of the town. Good quality for normal price. The woman owner is very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, we had to stay only half day and half night, after that went to the airport. The shuttle was organised by the owner (3 am). When coming to Kutaisi next time, we plan to stay in the same hotel
Absolutely the best choice of accommodation :-) Upon arrival, I was greeted very friendly and received homemade wine as a welcome. The equipment of the rooms is absolutely great and cozy. The staff also helped me with the night departure to the airport. If I'm in Kutaisi again, I'll be happy to come back :-) Thanks.
Located on an ideal location, in the hart of the center of Kutaisi, near the river.
Very friendly owner, who offered tasty Georgian wine:). Also he helped with printing the airport check in papers, which I forgot to arrange.
Room was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Strong WIFI!
Very nice hotel and very welcoming host! We stayed one night and arrived late in the evening. The host greeted us warmly and helped with taxi from the airport and also to our destination in Georgia. The breakfast was exceptional! We were full for the whole day. Can recommend this hotel!
This hostel is highly recommended. David, the owner, is super friendly and help you with everything. The apartment is beautiful, comfortable and spotless. Also it's close to the bus station (the best way to move around Georgia is by bus) and close to the airport. I will come back ;)
The host is very helpful and a nice person in all Georgia, he was very kind, offered us to park the car inside the hotel, we didn’t asked and he upgraded us to a better room without extra money, the breakfast was the BEST in Georgia and the stay was wonderful.
Good location of hotel if you have early flight from Kutaisi airport. Taxi to airport costs ~30 lari and it takes ~20 min.
Hotel is clean and comfortable. Good price / value ratio.
Nice garden with pool and tree house although we didn't try as it was winter.
The property is managed by the lovely family. It has a beautiful view, tasty food, and kind service. I had the best sleep and it was a perfect runaway from the cities. Kutaisi has a beautiful soul and staying at hotel Tskhumi was an experience of that soul.
The owners were the nicest ever, they warmly welcomed me, made breakfast in the morning (which was awesome) and even got a cab for me to the airport. Best value for money you can find in Kutaisi, if not Georgia. Will surely be coming back!
Very nice place to stay in Kutaisi, close to the center and to the local market. There was also no problem to book a pick up to the airport early in the morning. This was the best plase that we were sleeping in, on our stay in Georgia.
We needed a hotel close to the airport. The rooms were clean, there was a big garden and a pool but we didn't have time to enjoy it more. There was enough of space to park a car.
Cute hotel in kutaisi every room has its bathroom and the price is amazing! Good value! A cute doggo will great you and make sure the guests will enter and leave the hotel safely
The location was great, very close to the center. The hotel arranged airport shuttle which was ok even our flight was very early morning. George was very helpful
