Terrible location, isolated rural, right next to a very busy A19. No food or drinks available. Looks nothing like internet photos or descriptions. More 1 or 2 stars than 4. Unfriendly man in charge, nobody else staying. Magazines in room from 2020, maybe last time it was used. Cold space, no heating in bathroom, chalet not a room. Blocked toilet. Locked the gates at 5:15pm. Felt extremely uncomfortable and left after 30 minutes. Awful experience for a female travelling alone, but for anyone, do not consider.

Have passed through Northallerton many times, not realising what a gem it is. Thriving high street and a Wednesday and Saturday Market. Lots of lovely places to eat, an interesting church and a regular bus service to surrounding towns and villages. Don't miss Lewis and Cooper deli and cafe for local produce!

Very friendly people. Some great real ale pubs.
Very friendly people. Some great real ale pubs. Stumble Inn (great crowd and superb host), Oddfellows (take your own picnic into the beer garden), The Fleece. Good choice of ales at the Northallerton Inn too. Uno Momento is a not too expensive restaurant with great Italian food (take a good appetite with you). Market Wednesday and Saturday. For an amazing deli shop in Lewis and Cooper. Hourly bus service to Ripon, Thirsk, Bedale, Leyburn and other places. Bus to Leeming Bar and Wensleydale Railway to Leyburn is a great day out without driving.
Go and take the walk around Cod Beck reservoir (40 to 60 minutes depending on your pace).

Very attractive small market town with lots more shops than you might expect given its size. Close to the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales for lovely countryside, walking, cycling etc. but Northallerton itself doesn't have any steep hills and is easy to walk round. Plenty of pubs and restaurants.

Charles and Chris were perfect hosts; were very welcoming and went out of their way to please. The property and accommodation has a relaxing historic quaintness. Room standard was very good and 10/10 comfortable. The breakfast menu offers an excellent choice, with the quality of cooking and presentation being perfect. Location in Northallerton is ideal for local amenities and an excellent base for North Yorkshire touring. Overall, Porch House was the ideal retreat from the busy world which we were escaping.
This was the second time we have stayed at this property and it was just as good as we remembered it being on the first occasion. The menu and food was excellent. The pub was very comfortable and friendly. The rooms were spacious and clean with very good ensuites. The property is in a great location for visits to the North Yorkshire Moors, Northallerton and a very enjoyable tour of the Black Sheep brewery in the lovely village of Masham.
The best accommodation we stayed in on our C2C walk. We were picked up at the garage after a very long, hot 23 mile day and dropped the following morning so we could carry on with the walk. Christine was just amazing and ensured we knew where everything was. Fantastic washer and dryer and the room was spotless and beds so comfy. Awesome shower after a long days walk and a foot spa. Highly recommend Swan House
The food was excellent and although our room was in a separate building it was next door so it wasn’t a problem. There were some nice touches like a communal fridge on the landing with orange juice and water for guests plus spare umbrellas by the front door. The decor was original and thoughtful. The village was peaceful and only a mile from the A1 so a perfect pit stop for us on our way to Scotland
So despite the issues the staff we're friendly and helpful, despite in many cases inexperience. The breakfast was good value. Location of the hotel is great, 10 minute walk into Northallerton easy access to North Yorkshire. Our room was clean and comfortable. Wouldn't rule out staying there again, but I'd want to pay less.
The hotel has a large, free car park and is in a great location for Darlington or for access towards Leeds. The room was a good size, and there is a restaurant for evening meals, where the excellent breakfast is also served. It's a pleasant stroll into town where there a plenty of pubs and restaurants to choose from too.
Lovely house, very comfortable, run by a very warm and friendly couple. Excellent breakfast in the morning, despite our early start. Very quiet so, you are guaranteed a decent nights sleep and in a lovely area, only a short drive from the centre of Northallerton - which is one of the nicest towns I've ever been to!
After a night out in Northallerton town centre it was great to skip over to the accommodation without having to wait for a taxi. The room was exceptionally clean. The ensuite bathroom was great with a good shower. Cute little storage for luggage and clothes. Iron and tea facilities. I would definitely stay again.
A friendly welcome, super clean room, nice food reasonably priced (I enjoyed both dinner and breakfast). The Inn is located in a lovely area of North Yorkshire with great access to the Dales and the Coast. The rooms are in a modern annexe of the main building.
Our 2nd visit to the Northallerton Inn was an excellent break. The rooms are comfortable and modern.
The breakfasts are delicious and filling.
Julie and her staff are very accommodating and nothing is too much trouble.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
The hotel was very clean and the rooms comfortable with the added luxury of air conditioning.
The staff member who booked us in and served us throughout our stay was very polite and helpful and he you feel at ease, he is a credit to them.
My breakfast was the best I have ever had in a hotel. it pays to buy decent ingredients.
They have a good bar with real ale.
Good place to stay and the Yorkshire Moors are fantastic.
Gorgeous room, the quietest hotel we have ever stayed in. Partner is a very light sleeper but he slept all night..lovely comfy beds, nice breakfast. Will definitely be coming back
Good value breakfast and lovely evening meal. Hotel is opposite an old Anglican Church dating from the 14th century and convenient to Northallerton with its shops and restaurants.
The accommodation was first class , we was made to feel welcome . Our hosts were friendly and the breakfast spot on . It's a good base to visit the attractions around this area
