I really loved the quiet location felt remote although it isnt being in Raglan near the Castle and close to Monmouth. quirky old cottage with great history with amazing art work (both owners are artists). Double Room at top of house comfortable and spacious and liked having the leather sofa in room to read. Lovely breakfast. Received a warm welcome despite only booking 1 hr before!

The hotel looked a little tired and univiting from the outside and the notice to check in at the SPAR was well out of date because Spar has gone and the check in is now at ASDA on the garage forecourt. However the lass on the check in was extremely helpful, polite and organised, even though we had to queue up with the shop customers to make our presence known!,, The mat at the front door has clearly seen better days and is a disgrace, however, once inside, the rooms themselves are spotless, roomy and very comfortable. The beds, pillows, duvet, prim and proper and well turned out. So spacious is the room that it even sports a two seater sofa as well as a chair. The bathroom is also spacious and well apointed with a bath for a nice soak with an overhead "rainfall" style shower head in the ceiling that positively drenches you in a healthy supply of hot water. No facilities in the hotel as such, but you get a discount at the forecourt Burger King as a guest and if that doesnt suit, there is a Greggs, Leon, Subway and Starbucks in a spacious service forecourt and plenty of spaced out seating.
Conclusion: Dont judge a book by its cover. I'd stay again in a heartbeat, even if the TV did have its battery compartment cover missing, so the batteries fell out and as it was clearly streaming or satellite some channels pixelated badly.

Lovely friendly place with a few treats left in the room, which were welcome after a day in the hills. Great atmosphere in the bar.

Raglan has one of the most impressive castles in the UK, but the little town’s parish Church is also worth a look.
The area generally is excellent for walking: just a little further west around Abergavenny are a number of excellent Hill walks.

The Beaufort has the very best beds we have slept in for many moons!!
So comfortable; deep proper mattresses with good quality bed linen. Towels were also good quality, clean, mark free and thick.

We didn't see Raglan town itself but we visited Raglan Castle. It is an interesting example of late medieval castle which used to be a very exquisite place to live. It differs from other medieval castles with mainly defensive function as it shows how representative it used to be.

We have passed Ragaln castle many times and never stopped.
We have passed Ragaln castle many times and never stopped. We treated outselves to a weekend and toured Usk, Raglan and Monmouth. Raglan is a superb castle, although a ruin, it has a fabulous history and there is enough of the building left to imagine how it worked. The interpretation was very good.
Nothing ….,The bathroom when we entered the room was filthy. The mattress had collapsed. We told reception that as it was so bad we would not stay , so we walked out and found clean accommodation in another hotel.
Your system does not give compensation if on arrival the client does not stay due to the state of the bed and filthy rooms .
We book a property on the basis of it being clean and comfortable and we only find out when our money back guarantee time has expired , when we arrive at the property.

Our room was amazing, with so many interesting pieces of art throughout the house and garden.
Big comfy bed, large flat screen tv with freevuee and streaming services i.e Netflix.
The house is beautiful and set in a quiet rural setting about 2 miles outside of raglan, which was perfect for we wanted. As we done 3 castles in one day we just wanted to come back and relax. We walked around the sculpture garden and there is a little duck pond at the end of the garden. It was really very tranquil and will definitely return

Very cosy , homey and rustic authentic medieval cottage. The kitchen is warm and homey as well. Set in the countryside. With outside sunny garden and private eating area, with a pond nearby. It's off the beaten track, but close enough to explore other areas of Wales on day trips, and a stone's throw away from Raglan Castle.
Absolutely lovely stay staff were brilliant and welcoming the room was massive had everything you needed iron, iron board, hairdryer and plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast was lovely and the restaurant the food was fantastic. The scenery around Raglan is breathtaking Thank you all for a lovely stay
The building is incredible, such a tastefully and beautifully decorated house. Its near to Abergavenny and Raglan, the breakfast (no cooked breakfasts) is also very good with plenty of yoghurts and home made jams, hot croissants and pastries, breads and honey, tea and coffee and cakes.... ample.
Lovely setting, historic building. Very helpful and pleasant hotel host. Room very small but comfortable. Excellent food, but no real vegetarian/vegan options other than salad. Safe off-street parking.
Hotel run by 2 artists so rooms decorated with great paintings and sculptures and close to Raglan Castle. Lovely range of homemade jams for breakfast, shame we couldn't warm up the croissants.
Perfect location, character property with a spacious room, although a bit dated. The team were super friendly and the food was lovely. Clean and charming place not far from Raglan castle
Really nice little hotel, very welcoming. The single room was a good size with a wider than average, comfortable bed and nice clean bedding. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
