A beautiful town. Extremely welcoming. The shops were great with some wonderful local shops such as the Salcombe candle company, Salcombe Dairy chocolate and the wonderful Salcombe Gin! Whilst there we took part in Gin School to make our sun gin which was fantastic.
There are some great pubs serving delicious food too. We tried the Ferry Inn and had a lovely time. They gave a quiz on Thursday evenings which is great fun too!
Parking looked to be difficult, as with most small towns, we were lucky enough to have parking at the hotel. So I would recommend getting there early.
This was our first trip to Salcombe, we fell in love with it and can’t wait to go back.

Difficult to find initially , arrived hour later than expected due to sat nav .
The views amazing
Very relaxing place … nice vibe .
Beds really comfortable
Spa and massage very good
Breakfast good selection , although the portions varied daily .
Evening meal more choice for vegetarian
Might be nice to have a couple specials available
Mid morning coffee would be lovely to be offered a biscuit with it.
The staff were very pleasant and accommodating .
Would have liked the rooms cleaned earlier as it was 3pm and had to ask as my 91 year old mum liked to sit in her room in the afternoon.
Overall a great stay
Thank you .

We know Salcombe very well and have been going there for over 30 years. It's a great location to stay offering good facilities and access to beach/boating
opportunities. Day visits are possibly more problematic due to limited parking.

We used the park and ride service.
We used the park and ride service. We had to pay for the car park and bus, which is unusual. There was a gap between 13.10 and 15.00 which was a pain. The town is expensive and a good place to spend a day.

The Crab Shed Restaurant was excellent, the food was excellent and served by friendly helpful staff. The town itself was small but had good shops and a good bakery. Parking was easy, the streets were clean and the locals were friendly. However, beware of the Victoria Inn when considering accommodation it’s a place to keep clear of.

Artisan shops and galleries.
Artisan shops and galleries. Kings Arms - excellent food & Salcombe Harbour Hotel. Beautiful views. Quaint buildings. Harbour - eco port. Ferry across to the lovely beaches. Seating overlooking views good. Lovely church - great place for a wedding. The Cliff House - wonderful location for wedding reception. Co-op well stocked and parking. Wonderful bakery, fish and chips and ice-creams.
Very narrow roads, very hilly, problems passing cars. Probably better for automatic cars rather than manual. Not a good place to stay higher up from the town if walking is a problem. Next visit we would probably forgo the wonderful views from higher up and rent a property further down.
Beautyfull house and room, wonderfull decoration, very clean, wonderfull hostess and host (helped us with adjusted breakfast (food intolerances) and with our car break down during a public holiday), lovely garden view, parking space for our rental car on the premiss, close to a local pub and supermarket and bus stop. Wonderfull place to stay over for one or 2 nights on (y)our way e.g. to the beach in the south. Our best bed and breakfast in the UK so far.
Location was perfect for us, access from the hotel directly on to an adjacent beach. Walks abundant. Lanes are narrow so care is needed if car is used. Hotel car park
Rooms were great. (Just note, the hotel is dog friendly and there is the occasional doggy smell or doggy accident ).
Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked and quality produce used.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Jo is an amazing host that goes above and beyond to provide any information that you need. The lodge is fully equipped with everything that you need for cooking etc. The location was absolutely fabulous too - a beautiful walk or a very short drive into Salcombe and close to the beaches. I will definitely be coming back.
35 The Salcombe is a small apartment with a drop down bed in the entry way as you enter the apartment.
The kitchen/lounge/diner is compact but comfortably appointed.
It is in a good location with great views out over the estuary.
Having a guaranteed parking spot in Salcombe is a great benefit.
The sea view room was great to wake up in and the free gin was a nice touch. The shower pressure in the bathroom was excellent and everything was clean and tidy. Loved the interior design. Food in the restaurant was great quality, passionfruit martinis were addictive!
Ideal location for Salcombe and the Beautiful Beaches and Coves. Great area for walking. We stayed in the Garden View Apartment which was very clean, furnished to a high standard and very comfortable. Jo is a fantastic and very helpful host! Many Thanks
Location is perfect on South Sands - front row seats with a stunning view.
Room was clean, up to date and spacious with excellent bathroom and good in room facilities.
Parking was excellent and very convenient - a must in Salcombe
Great apartment, well appointed with 'all mod cons', ideal for a couple, dog friendly, and a car parking space is a major bonus in Salcombe, received great customer service from Coast & Country. Recommended and would stay again.
Stunning location, and beautifully situated along the coastal path. Ideal for a relaxing getaway or an adventure in Devon. Gara Rock hotel is designed to enhance this experience - a return visit is inevitable.
Excellent location in the middle of Salcombe. Extremely friendly and helpful staff made us feel very welcome. Breakfast was superb. Thanks to everyone.
