Great place to visit with a good choice of eateries and pubs. The bookshop is amazing and is a lovely place to browse and have a coffee. Good bus links with Penrith Station if you are using public transport. Fantastic walks from the doorstep, including the Eamont and Ullswater Ways.

A village at the foot of Ulswater in the North Eastern area of the Lake District National Park offering a choice of pubs and bars all providing lunches and evening meals. The lake is accessable for water sports or steamer tours. Plenty of oportunities for photography and all levels of walks.

    Beautiful lake.

Beautiful lake. We enjoyed the boat trip from the pier which allowed us to have nice family walks in the gorgeous Lake District. We also appreciated the kids-friendly local pubs and good outdoor spaces. Castles and the Hadrian wall are also nearby. We loved our bank holiday week end in Pooley Bridge.

Lovely walks in the surrounding area, especially by the lake. Well stocked bookshop with lovely adjoining coffee shop. We travelled there by car, but there seems to be a good bus service, especially to Penrith and also saw one service bus going to Windermere.

    Very busy but beautiful spot.

Very busy but beautiful spot. The views along Ullswater if you walk towards Howtown are fabulous…….i More charm and less commercial than Windermere. Once the crowds disappear or before they arrive is great Except the Sun Inn the pubs are really food places not bars……

Amazing old school inn location where we spent some time while hiking Lake District - inn was full of tradition, very nice people that did everything to help us have a great time there and that was the most amazing part - whatever problem we had, they solved it with a smile. Food and restaurant were also great and it is just a great place that you can use for you travels or vacation.

Breakfast was awesome! Love how the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating by letting me pick what I wanted to eat each day. My room was comfortable, the sitting area outside the bar is perfect for a sunny day and the dinner menu looks mouth watering after a hard trek.

Beautiful little cottage, perfect for a couple wanting a quiet retreat close to the amenties of Pooley Bridge with its pubs, cafes and shops. We loved the view from the breakfast table, lambs skipping in the field at the back of the cottage and we loved the small log burner.

An ideal place to stay as a couple. Everything you need all in one place. The dogs were as welcome as we were. The log burner was a definite hit. The countryside and walks at the doorstep. With Pooley Bridge a few mins walk away. What more could we ask for ?

It was in an excellent position in Pooley Bridge. The room was well equipped but somewhat small. It was adequate in size for a one night stay as long as you didn’t have too much luggage with you. Breakfast was excellent.
