Wonderful! It is one of the tallest waterfalls in Britain.

Wonderful! It is one of the tallest waterfalls in Britain. You can walk up to the top via a steep pathway, but you have to pay. Once at the top the view is amazing. Beware! many people have fallen over the precipice and died. At the bottom there is a privately owned car park (£4 per day), toilets and a Swiss-style chalet which doubles as a very nice cafe. Above is a lovely self-contained apartment which is available to rent. It has a balcony from which you can relax with a drink in a comfortable chair and admire the beautiful location, whilst listening to the constant roar of the waterfall. When the cafe closes and everyone goes home the quietness is surreal. I know because I have stayed here with my wife and daughter.

The village was, on average, and hour drive from all major tourist attractions (natural and manmade) so it was well located. The village is small, but the general stores were well stocked, and the locals were friendly and helpful. There are some beautiful walks from the center, and the waterfall (Pistyll Rhaedr) is an absolute must see!
