The Black Horse Inn, hotel in East Barming

This rural Inn is set in a peaceful Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 4.5 miles from magnificent Leeds Castle. It offers charming, individually styled rooms with Wi-Fi and a lovely garden.

We are familiar with the Inn and like its quirky setup. The room was just that .. roomy, and well laid out. Breakfast was fine but dinner was a bit expensive. The bar and dining areas are a warren of cosy spaces. A very nice place to stay.

Basically it was very downbeat where we were staying so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. We thought the Tickled Trout was going to be a nice hotel and were booked for two weeks. We were severely disappointed.

The tickled trout is West Farleigh. it is 3.5 miles from the venue for a family meet and It was a perfect place to stay. We never explored the village but the pub is about 30 min from numerous National Trust houses.

The location is within easy reach of hundreds of south east England's major attractions and locations. You need a car to get around though. Do you research before you arrive so you have options for rainy days as well as indoor activities. Check opening seasons as well as many places close for the cooler months, and a lot of places now require online booking at timed allocations to ease congestion. Explore the country parks, beaches, historical English Heritage and National Trust properties, or take a train to London for the day and explore some of the amazing historical places and shops. You could spend years in this area and still not see everything on offer within a 2 hour driving radius.

We went to the tickled trout, for the sole purpose of visiting Hush heath vineyard, it was a a bit of a ride in a taxi from the pub and cost £50 worth the effort as we had quite a lot of wine at the vineyard Hic West Farleigh is a small village with nothing there really , there are some nice footpaths to walk along and you could spend a day wandering through green fields and along the medway .
