Lovely restoration of a late Victorian railway station with all the comforts of a modern home, sympathetically done. Very comfortable for a short stay and it felt very special. Lovely to be able to sit out and gaze at the hills and think about bygone days, when things seemed designed to be much more aesthetically pleasing. All you could need for a perfect, quiet and relaxing stay. I had booked it for my husband's 60th birthday surprise and he loved it, and all the history of the station was really interesting.

Rowden Mill Station is a unique self-catering place at a former Great Western Railway train station in North Herefordshire, Central England. Built in 1890s, Rowden Mill Station has been outwardly restored to its original specifications, while internally, it has been recently refurbished for practical modern living. The Station Building accommodates 4 guests. The main double-bedroom is in what used to be the Ladies Waiting Room while the Porters Room has adult size bunk beds. The former Waiting Room, with tall sash windows and double doors leading to the station platform is a comfortable sitting area complete with a wood-burning stove and Ercol chairs. The lounge also has a TV and DVD player along with a collection of films. On the bookcase, guests will find local maps and information as well as our small library of books, including those related to the history of the station. The accommodation is completed with a fully-fitted kitchen (in the former Booking Office), and a family bathroom in Victorian style flooded with natural light via a lantern. The magnificent Station canopy over the platform provides a spectacular setting for outside dining and from where to enjoy the extensive countryside views over the Wall Hills in our part of North Herefordshire.
Rowden Mill Station is a small holiday letting business personally managed by the owners who are proud caretakers of this railway heritage place that includes a further two accommodation units: 'The Parcel Office', the perfect get-away studio for a couple, as well as train carriage stays at our Inspection 'Saloon Coach' housed at our green Platform 2.
Rowden Mill Station is well positioned to explore the Malvern Hills and the Wye River valley, as well as the historic town of Hereford and the ‘Black and White’ villages around Leominster. Bromyard is a 5-minute drive away with extensive market town facilities. For those who would like to sample the fine food and drink of Herefordshire, we are an ideal place to discover the cider and perry making trails. Rowden Mill Station is set in the rolling countryside of North Herefordshire. Within 35 minutes of gourmet Ludlow and only half and hour away from Worcester and the M5.
