Upon seeing Swansea for the first time, it hits you just how green it is, especially when viewed from Kilvey Hill. On a clear day the views stretch as far as sweeping Swansea Bay and even the undulating Mumbles headland at the edge of the Gower Peninsula - the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with unspoilt beaches.
The Gower is also known for its castles, including Oystermouth Castle and Loughor Castle, overlooking the city from a hilltop. Swansea itself also has castle ruins which are Grade I listed, as is the Guildhall with its lavish interior frescoes.
Most historic city centre buildings were sadly lost during World War II, but the elegant Grand Theatre survived, as did Dylan Thomas’ childhood home in Uplands. The Swansea Museum – the oldest in Wales – is opposite the National Waterfront Museum and the LC indoor waterpark.
Offshore conditions are good for kitesurfing, and the marina shelters yachts overlooked by Wales’ tallest building: The Tower, Meridian Quay. The nearby SA1 Waterfront complex is becoming popular for its bars and restaurants, while shopping options include a covered market and the Morfa Shopping Park by Liberty Stadium, home to the city’s football and rubgy union teams.
Booking.com’s Swansea accommodation includes luxury hotels, cheap apartments and guest houses with parking.

The city has excellent tourist facilities and offers.
The city has excellent tourist facilities and offers. We can mingle with the locals at the local market. The only con is that local commerce closes at 18h. You can reach most of tourist sites by foot. Or if you rent a bike at bike hub is another option. You have many supermarket and many restaurants to choose.

Swansea has a wide sandy beach - several miles long that stretches round the bay to Mumbles . modern marina with waterfront restaurants- I recommend the Welsh Hose - delicious , reasonably priced traditional Welsh food- Just like Mam makes - with a touch of Welsh ouse magic . The Shed also nice, a touch pricy . tasty breakfast at Hoogah Cafe, Bar + Kitchen - recommend their local lavender lemonade, rose or lavender hot chocolate - healthy breakfasts, and light meals - delicious - worth the walk . Swansea Market a must visit- Famous for its free cockles and laver bread- Also sells all sorts of everything including fresh local produce - Butchers- Gower salt marsh lamb, great fishmongers and fresh vegetable stalls, Bakers- look out for the Swanse loaf - great with local butter sold by the pat .Freshly made welsh cakes . Cafes & snack counter, hardware stores, hover repairs - gifts - all sorts of stuff. Singleton and neighbouring Brynmill parks also delightful - LS1 is fun pool and liesure centre close to the town centre - there is also a 50 m pool for more serious swimming mid way around the bay - Max Boyce song suns up the hiraeth and the croeso youy will find at Swansea 'Im going home to Swansea town, where day is dawning, Im going home to Swansea town, a lovely sea town morning "

While Swansea’s industrial entrance and surrounding conditions left us unimpressed, the charm of The Mumbles and Gower more than made up for it. The quaint spots and delightful sea views offered a pleasant contrast, making the visit worthwhile.

Swansea is an up and coming town that has plenty to offer IF you can find somewhere to park. You can often spend a long part of your day trying to find suitable parking that isn't too far away from where it's all happening.
Certainly worth visiting for a few days. Plenty of shops to peruse and cafes to sit in and people watch.
Stunning views across the bay and lovely beaches all within a few minutes drive.
There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and different cuisines. Taxis available if you don't want to drive and most are friendly.
Different seasons offer different views of Swansea so it's best to try out the town throughout the year.
Just don't forget. It's not the weather that's the problem! It's the poor choice of clothing!

Plenty of places to walk, especially the coastal paths.
Plenty of places to walk, especially the coastal paths. Good eating/take away restaurants. Central bus stations so easy to visit other coastal areas. Town centre is somewhat tired and has too much litter.
this is a lovely apartment in a great area right on the beach. it has designated parking and easy access into the apartment.
only a 5 minute walk into the city centre and loads to do in the area.
I was here as had family from Ireland and America visiting, was a perfect base for them to explore Swansea.
the balcony area was lovely to sit out in the morning.
majority of apartment was very clean and had everything you need to cook meals, a full size fridge freezer and they also provided tea/coffee.
Lovely B&B. You really feel like you're staying in a home, rather than an informal hotel. The place is decorated with a lot of charm and character, and everything is really comfy. There's lots of little touches like packets of chocolate biscuits and beauty products in the bedrooms which make your stay special. Julian and Mel are very welcoming and friendly, and we had good chats over breakfast. Mel cooks an excellent breakfast too! I'll definitely stay here again next time I'm in Swansea.
The location was fantastic! So close to the beach and the marina. The room was spacious and clean. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. My request that I made prior to staying was met fully . There was payable parking on site which was inexpensive. The hotel was a short walk from the city centre , there's a Tesco superstore around a 3 min walk away. The Swansea Arena where I was attending a gig was at maximum 5 minutes walk away so was ideal
The property was in a perfect location, a 2 minute walk from lots of cool bars and restaurants and a 5 minute walk from Swansea Arena. This was perfect for us as we were staying in the area to go to a concert. Also a 15 minute walk from the beach. The room we stayed in was in the town house over the road from the main hotel. It was very clean and spacious! Staff were lovely and very helpful.
This is one of my favorite hotels I have ever stayed! The room was extraordinary. Beautiful, dramatic, clean, well-appointed. The location was super. The staff were extremely attentive, customer-oriented and so thoughtful. Loved the car park convenience. I cannot say enough how much we loved the room, the breakfast, the staff, location and overall experience. Tops!!
We are two mature cyclists slowly travelling from Swansea to Aberystwyth staying at a series of four consecutive hotels. Each place of stay probably caters for a different market and our use was atypical.
The staff of this hotel were welcoming and very helpful. The accommodation was clean and the meals were excellent.
Loved having plenty of space for our family group of six adults to spread out after a long day in a car or walking around markets. This is great place in a very good location just outside downtown. I would be thrilled to use it again if I'm every back in Swansea.
The bed was comfortable for me . It had a tv , tea/ coffee, and trouser press (!!) Breakfast was excellent and included in my booking. The hotel is in the city centre and very close to the Grand Theatre, which was my reason for going to Swansea.
Clean and comfortable, comfy bed, tasteful decor, lovely bar/bistro, very friendly helpful staff, and extremely convenient location. Parking right next to the hotel at a very good price (probably the cheapest in town).
Location is great for Swansea, once parked at the hotel we didn’t need the car again, and we loved the pool and gym facilities. The room was large and bed very comfortable. Staff were helpful and friendly.
The absolute perfect hotel. Location. Price. Cleanliness. Staff. This place is a warm hug on arrival to Swansea. Do not hesitate to book. You're in safe hands with Chris & his top team!
Great place to stay Local pubs and restaurants a few minutes walk Very comfortable bed, great choice of tv stations and a fabulous breakfast, looking forward to my next trip to Swansea
The hotel was fab, in a perfect place to visit Swansea town. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable best sleep I've had in awhile.
Location is bang in the centre of Swansea,100yards from their famous Wine Street with bars and restaurants, and just about 400 yards from their beach. Parking behind the hotel
The hotel was clean, light, and spacious with quick and efficient check-in.
The room had a view over the bay and had modern fittings and tea and coffee at hand.
This hotel is the best thing about Swansea! Location was great, staff were amazing, the decor was really great. The breakfast is well worth the addition!
Very central location, so great for exploring Swansea city centre. Very friendly and helpful staff! Room very good, nice bed. Definitely would use again.
