Very comfortable and spotlessly clean, had everything we needed. Great location, easy walk to shops and cafes and free on street parking directly outside.

Sandwick is a small village about 12 miles south of Lerwick and easily accessible by road. It has a good cafe/tearoom with gift shop. There is also a bakery, woolen product shops and newly opened Spar shop. Tirricks lies just above the village and provides Seaview to 2 sides of the bungalow.

Sandwick is quiet, beautiful, and centrally located for someone who wants to go sightseeing in South Shetland - about halfway between Sumburgh and Lerwick. Very quiet village, with no pub (didn't realize such places exist in Scotland!) but there's a social club to grab a drink at. The ocean is nearby (we missed an orca sighting by minutes!), there is a local store which is open all week except Sunday. We traveled by motorcycle, but there is a bus to Sumburgh and Lerwick which we passed a few times.
