We loved the welcoming, friendly staff and how the owners were so dog friendly even providing a sausage for our dog every morning at breakfast and a box of doggie treats and essentials in our room.

Plenty of parking, Carol was a warm, welcoming host who helped us with her local knowledge of the area. 1.6 miles to beginning of Kinder Scout hike that we were doing so within walking distance of that. The room was spacious and warm with lovely views over the countryside. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of tea/coffee/hot chocolate sachets with the option of fresh milk from fridge in corridor if you're not keen on little sachets. A very warm, welcoming environment so very happy to recommend.
Located just 400 metres from the edge of the Peak District National Park, Queens Arms Country Inn is located in Old Glossop. Free WiFi access is available.

Great location for a three day stay. Excellent full English breakfast prepared by Mark and all the staff were great. Had an evening meal there two out of the three nights as well and the food is well priced with a good range on the menu. The locals in the bar are very friendly as well which made for a great stay

Location in Chapel, high peak was lovely. There was off road parking at hotel. Room was very basic but clean. Minimal noise from other guests even with it being a pub / restaurant too, although we were 2 stories up.
Room was comfortable and clean. Carol was a fantastic host.
Room was comfortable and clean. Carol was a fantastic host. Breakfast was lovely with enough choices. Area was beautiful. Only downfall was the pillows which were too thin. If we went again we would ask for a room with windows instead of a skylight window but the view we could see was beautiful.

New Mills is a nice little town built near a river in hilly surroundings. It has a small but okay supermarket and several eateries and pubs. The Beer Shed in Market Street serves a great variety of local and continental beers. The Leisure Centre is the starting point of an excellent easy 4.5 mile walk along the river, which was a very good activity on a sweltering hot day. The town has a good train service to Manchester and is not far away from many Peak District highlights such as Castleton caves and Kinder Scout.

Carol was so welcoming and our room was beautifully clean and had everything we needed.
The bed was comfortable and the location was perfect as a base for many different walks.
We're looking forward to returning for longer stay very soon!

The accommodation was probably the best that we had stayed in. Carol, the host was so friendly and helpful and everyday there were little chocolates, also biscuits, tea and coffee and also a bottle of water for each guest. The property has such a beautiful view and is so quiet for a great night's sleep. Breakfast is just amazing if you like the English but there are also vegetarian choices and and also cereal, porridge and fruit . The room, room 2 was huge, so clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. It is just such a perfect property and host.

It is a nice, very countryside area, lovely little cottages and country roads.
The only downside is it's abVery quiet area.
Nearest town of Glossop is quiet too, we missed the market that they had and that seemed to be the only life. Very good area for walks etc though, I'd recommend the reservoir (Derwent dam), not a hard walk around but it's 10miles to walk the full length (not that this has to be done).
