Partially within the Peak District, Sheffield is best known for being the setting of ‘The Full Monty’, a film whose title means the whole works. Indeed, vibrant Sheffield has the whole works - excellent shopping, great nightlife and an impressive sporting heritage.
It first came to fame during the Industrial Revolution for its pioneering role in the UK steel industry. One technique invented here is commemorated in the name of its most famous theatre – The Crucible, home of the Snooker World Championships.
Close by are the peaceful Winter Gardens with their multi-arched roof. The Peace Gardens are overlooked by the elegant town hall, and the focal building of the impressive Botanical Gardens somewhat resembles Crystal Palace, also by the same architect.
The city’s 2 football teams – Sheffield United and Wednesday – play at Bramall Lane and Hillsborough Stadium respectively. The cutting-edge English Institute of Sport is also based here, and the nearby Sheffield Arena is a prime UK venue for music and entertainment. The best shopping is found in the Meadowhall Centre near Rotherham.
Booking.com’s Sheffield accommodation includes city centre hotels with parking, others by Victoria Train Station, and guest houses near Doncaster Sheffield Robin Hood Airport.
Been to Sheffield many times. Plenty of different things to do. Have done things like shopping, ice hockey, concerts and theatre, Alpaca trekking, pubs and clubs, golf, football, museums, casinos, good attraction.
Very accessible- many things in central Sheffield but for those a bit further out- you can use tram or taxis.

Central Sheffield is a hipster dream!
Central Sheffield is a hipster dream! It has lots of fantastic shops that covers vintage clothing, records, plants, and more. It has lots of independent pubs, bars, and clubs as well as lots of restaurant options for all budgets. I wish I could have stayed a bit longer. Furthermore, the spaces in Sheffield are clearly well thought out, with little parks and areas to sit and interact with. It was clean and quiet as well.

We visited Sheffield inroder to see our son & grandchildren.
We visited Sheffield inroder to see our son & grandchildren.
Lots of lovely well maintained parks to walk through and lots of restaurants and cafes to eat out.
The locals are warm and friendly.
The staff were 100% committed to providing a great guest experience, especially Robert, making our stay memorable. Location was perfect for the weekend to attend a music event at the Utilita Arena and to get in & out of Sheffield City Centre using the Trams. Complementary parking for the weekend was a bonus although at £5 a day, was considered acceptable. Although we did not visit Meadowhall shopping centre, location of hotel meant it was within walking distance. Will use again if we revisit Sheffield in the future. 👍🏼😊😎
First of all the location - the hotel is a short walk from the train station and Sheffield city hall.
The staff was nice and answered our questions prior to booking.
The room is very spacious and clean, bigger than we thought! Very comfortable bed.
The shower stream is strong,
the natural soaps are amazing.
It's a big plus to be able to have both a shower and a bath to choose from.
The air conditioning was working great.
The view is amazing.
It was overall a very good experience.
Would totally recommend and go again.
Staff were absolutely lovely - really welcoming and keen to help. Location was excellent for walking into Sheffield city centre and to the Crucible (we were there for the snooker) - and we loved the snooker-themed decorations! Room was very nice, clean and cosy. Breakfast bag was an added bonus for the very cheap price of a room on a Sunday. Also great to be able to have a drink in the cafe/bar when we got home late evening. We've already booked up for next year's visit for the snooker!
large accessible room; plenty of space for our luggage. They assigned us an accessible room, so the shower was walking and there are the typical safety rails, bars and shower seat. We didn't need it, but it was still fine for us. The decor is old style and a bit dated. But the room was clean and comfortable. Staff is really nice. We've stayed here before and will again when we are in Sheffield.
The location is perfect, it’s a 5min walk from the train station. The room I had was large, clean and well equipped. The staff are happy and friendly, the food (especially freshly cooked breakfast, not the usual buffet) is excellent. This will be my 1st choice hotel when I visit Sheffield, but I don’t think that I’ll be able to obtain a booking as this hotel is going to be popular.
We liked it's simplicity - in check-in and check-out, easy navigation in the hotel and lovely café downstairs. Also, it was in walking distance from everything - city centre, train station and the football stadium. The room itself was also simple, but neet and had on nice view on the city from our 6th-floor-room. Even our toddler enjoyed very much staying there :)
Location great for city centre & parking. Hotel very nice, lovely bar area & pleasant helpful staff.
Couldn’t alter A/C in room, so was a little too warm.
But room good & tea & coffee in room. Didn’t have breakfast as lots of cafes down the road much cheaper.
Got a free Costa coffee which was a nice gesture.
All in all I would use again.
Beautiful Hotel, close to the city centre. Lovely Contemporary rooms. Immaculate!. Great Staff, menu, Restaurant and Breakfast. staff can’t do enough for you. No issues checking in and out of the Hotel.
Had a great time , I will be back. I have stayed here many times before. it is always my go to Hotel in Sheffield.
This hotel is an excellent location for any activity/event in the city Centre. The rooms are clean, compact and comfortable. Staff are helpful and professional and the price was very reasonable for a city centre. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in Sheffield. Thank you.
No-fuss check-in. Reasonable quality food on-site. All staff friendly and helpful. Clean decor and good condition of all fittings. Kettle with tea/coffee in room. Most of the comforts and facilities of the more expensive hotel chains. Reasonably close to city centre and station.
The location of the hotel is excellent, within an easy taxi ride of the city. The area is lovely and the grounds large and impressive. It is one of the best located (and best looking) hotels in Sheffield (if you are looking to be out of the city centre).
The budget hotel is basic which is expected very clean and warm with all the necessities available. I work remotely and WiFi coverage is brilliant. All staff members especially Robert offer excellent service and are very accommodate to all guests.
Location is good for sheffield, near city hall, although the property is in a little stoney alley slope. The landlord was thoughtful and kind, the place was kept clean and has all the amenities you may need for home comforts.
Most of the staff members were really helpful and nothing was to much trouble. The hotel was in a great location for the event I was attending. The room was very clean. Great breakfast with a lovely, helpful chef.
The history of the hotel, the ideal location, near the city centre, and Sheffield Wednesday football stadium.
The staff were helpful and friendly, really good venue for the party we attended.
Very comfy bed, decent TV, decent toilet facilities, plenty of hot water in a spacious shower and better than average vfm for a city centre budget hotel
