i liked that the hotel was only round the corner from all the shops and family as that's the reason for the visit to see family also if you wanted to visit the cinema that's just 5 min walk away, you also have a night club near by .We visited a local Indian called Spice Fusion which was really good and worth a visit for a change of food.

Came here 59 years ago to live in first of three properties.....last 30 years spent in great bungalow with almost an acre of land on the outskirts of town Enjoyed every day BIG BIG mistake, when we allowed Daughter to convince us that garden was far too big for our diminishing health. Sold up to go and live with them in their Annexe near Edinburgh....Have hated every day.,been trying to sort our property deals since we left

Lovely market town with a friendly feel to it. Mixture of local and national shops and good pubs. Close to Norwich, the Broads and the North Norfolk coast. Near by Pensthorpe wild life and gardens was a good day out.

Like most small towns nowadays, the centre of East Dereham was starting to look very run down and there were a lot of closed shop fronts. There may be a few historic buildings to look at but walking to them was less than inviting down some of the side streets

East Dereham is a pleasant little town in mid-Norfolk.

East Dereham is a pleasant little town in mid-Norfolk. It is handily situated for travel to the two main towns in the county, Norwich and Kings Lynn. The scenic north coast and resorts are all within a day trip distance, where you can find golden beaches, family amusements and the British seaside experience. There are plenty of eateries and takeaways in the town centre and a fair selection of other shops, including a thriving Wetherspoon bar; all within walking distance for all abilities. The George hotel offers well-priced breakfasts; average priced evening meals and has a large car park for patrons. I had an enjoyable stay there for two nights.

The metro night club was quite loud to be brutally honest.

The metro night club was quite loud to be brutally honest. Friday & Saturday night. But we have stayed before during the week and it’s been a really nice stay. Can’t fault the staff always amazing. But something needs to be done about the nightclub honestly. We stayed in room 205 for three nights every night wasn’t great but the staff made up for it. Ps. I slept but my partner heard the Macarena at two in the morning and wasn’t impressed. lol

We were very impressed with this hotel. Staff were pleasant, informative and just so helpful. Nothing was a bother for them. This included the bar staff and waitress staff. We both had a light evening meal which was absolutely delicious. Our room was spotless, comfortable and pleasant. We will use this Company again on our travels. We have never used them before. Our thanks to all the staff at the Dereham Hotel. You were brilliant.

How welcoming and friendly the staff was, stayed with my 7 year old and they was more than happy to help out in many ways. Spoke to us and gave great ideas for places to visit, and eat. They really went above and beyond our stay. We had drinks in the pub, which had napped games in, and some lovely locals. Breakfast in the am was great; we didn’t book it just asked when we arrived. Plus hotel guests got free tea and toast with brekkie!

Booking.com had a computer glitch which meant we didn’t have a room for the night when we arrived but Paul pulled out all the stops and got us booked in at another hotel for our first night, he also upgraded us for the second night at the mill, even providing us with real milk and Yorkshire tea in our room. The mill is a lovely location and the breakfast was delicious, the Indian resturant next door was excellent too.

Staff were brilliant and couldn't be more helpful. A couple of problems sorted quickly. The owners are keeping the hotel as it should be, a historic inn and not turning into something else. At breakfast you feel that history and you can imagine all the travellers that have stayed there over the centuries. The owner we met was also helpful and friendly.

Very clean, beautiful little property. I wanted more than just a hotel room due to having my 7yo and my 1yo with me. Lovely little touches like the sweeties & milk etc. The apartment was just what we needed! Comfortable beds, parking space right out front which is so helpful with children, nice layout! Thankyou for having us!

it was quiet, there was parking, there was a good restaurant next door, we were looking for somewhere between Norwich and Thursford for the Christmas show, this was ideal, it hadn’t been taken over, like many large hotels have by the home office and the price was reasonable.
