Great restaurant's to take your pick from.

Great restaurant's to take your pick from. A really lovely pub (The Australia) highly recommend and the Snowdonia national park on your doorstep . you can also take advantage of the main line train to do large sections of the Wales coastal path getting off and walking a section and on again at different stations, Note, please tell the conductor witch station you want to get off at as the train doesn't stop automatically at all stations. Welsh coastal path is stunning in and around porthmadog well worth walking.

We primarily chose this hotel so that we could spend time in Port Meirion village. We did go into Porthmadog and took a ride on the steam train. There are shops and cafes in Porthmadog but we dis not visit them.

Porthmadog is the perfect place to stay when visiting Portmerion, or if walking and exploring the area. It does have a pretty harbour/marina. There are plenty of choices for eating out. Plus the heritage railway is a short walk.

Beautiful town and surrounded by lots to do and good amenities . We travelled to Ffestiniog to get train to llandudno, which was a lovely journey and a 1/ 5 of price of heritage train trips. We will definitely be going back to stay again..

We stayed in a Cabana and for a family of four it was amble for a couple of nights. The lodge was very modern and super clean. The kids loved the mezzanine sleeping area. We are at the hotel both nights, and the food was delicious. The pizza on the outside pizza oven was a highlight and the kids were happy playing in the play park which was viewable from the outside dining area. Location is also idea for everything you might want to do in the area. All in all really lovely break and would 100% recommend it.

Set in a beautiful valley near to Porthmadog the site is very well kept and quiet. The hotel restaurant serves delicious food and the staff are friendly and helpful. My 2 person pod accommodation was comfortable and clean with a lovely veranda area to sit out and parking immediately adjacent. A compact kitchen has all the basics you need for self catering and the shower, although small, has good water pressure and plenty of hot water. The area is one of immense natural beauty with plenty to see and do.

This is a Tale of Two Rooms. The first night we were in a twin room in the attic. it was on the 3rd floor and I can barely walk. There was no lift. The room sucked so bad my husband told them we would not stay for a second night. The reception hostess was so nice. she managed to switch our room from the attic to the best room in the hotel for the 2nd night that room was very nice. it had a private patio, a king bed plus a twin, a larger bathroom and we were quite happy with it.

An overnight stay to an area I hadn't visited in a long time. My husband had never been, so for both of us we were blown away by the staff, facilities, location and the location we were moved to as prior notice let us know the hotel was closed for a few days for a refurb. I'd recommend this site to everyone, couples, families and people who travel alone. Picturesque, quiet, beautiful countryside, great facilities and some lovely walks.

All the staff in Royal Sportsman Hotel were super nice but professional — offering suggestions on where to eat, what to do, how to go to attractions etc. They were clearly short-staffed — I saw many of them worked long hours (especially the F&B members) but yet they were cheery and helpful to me throughout my stay. The room was exceptional, cosy and clean. The location was only 5 minutes walk from Porthmadog train station.

Very friendly, Alison was an outstanding host, amazing food, great choice for breakfast. Safe, secure parking. Lovely garden to sit in with wonderful views. Warm, comfortable room. Had a fan if good weather! Room had everything you wanted and more. Fridge with a pint of milk, tray with tea, coffee etc. Well positioned for exploring North Wales. Even had slippers provided, brilliant 🙂

Everything about this property is quite delectable and quite special in a most endearing way. We enjoyed our stay so much that we did not want to leave after just two nights. So, I am already planning our next stay here, and the popularity is proof of how good it really is. this is my new base camp as my gateway to future adventures in North Wales. happy days.😃🙃

Claire and Steve have really thought of everything. They sent us plenty of information prior to our stay to help expedite check-in and educate us on the area. The rooms have all you need and are spacious. The breakfast was well organized and offered an excellent variety of food stuffs. A very professional yet friendly operation.

Great location overlooking Porthmadog harbour and a convenient parking space with easy access to the High St. Liked the arrangement of the living/kitchen area on the first floor. Owner was very helpful. The apartment is small but well-planned, a good base if you're planning to be out and about. Would stay again.

The location was superb right in the centre of Porthmadog, great for pubs and places to eat and also for getting out to other areas for walks. The property was ideal for 2 people and could easily accommodate 4 comfortably.
