The town is very historic but seems to lack the vision other towns in Scotland seemed to have found. The main street could be more ornate to capture attention of people passing through (as well as encourage better usage or street front property) and the commercial street behind the Main Street is not easily found or accessed…. Might be best to make a parking lot at the park on south end and make the commercial street a walking venue with ornate and historic flavor to attract both local people and travelers….

A good array of local and National grocery shops either side of the river, including a large Tesco. The Indian takeaway is also a big plus! The local shops and bakeries were all great.
Great mainline train service down from Inverness or up from Aberdeen, plus the quaint heritage line from Keith Town station to Dufftown.
Keith is well placed to explore the NE coastal towns and villages, across to Aviemore or Glenfarclas distillery (shameless plug for them), or indeed into Aberdeenshire.

I was staying there to go to the Dufftown Highland Games.
I was staying there to go to the Dufftown Highland Games. I'd heard that it was a very friendly occasion where most people there were locals. That's just how it was. I had a really splendid day, never having been to such an event before, it was better than I could have imagined.
