A traditional quarry workers cottage, with lots of charm and character with a few upgrades such as patio doors to the garden and a mezzanine area. There are two bedrooms downstairs both with a double bed and a third bedroom up in the crog loft with a double. This has limited head height but is very cosy and snug. The mezzanine can also accommodate a bed but it has open sides so not a private space as such. The bathroom is also on the ground floor and offers electric shower, roll top bath, basin and toilet. The kitchen and dining area is full of natural light with patio doors leading out to the cottage garden with small pond, lawned area and herbaceous borders. The cottage is heated by a multifuel burner with back boiler and adds a nice feature with the large inglenook fireplace set into the lounge area with comfy seating. Fuel is supplied and on those chilly days you can expect the fire to be burning nicely upon your arrival. For your entertainment there is a smart TV with iPlayer, Netflix etc. WiFi is also available at no extra charge. Behind the cottage is the Lon Las Ogwen cycle track which takes you to Zipworld in 10 minutes on foot or go further up into the mountains.
We've lived in Bethesda for 15 years and enjoy it very much. It is in a beautiful location and our children love it too. We wouldn't want to be anywhere else {most of the time}! A bit like a busy permanent holiday.
Bethesda is a great place to explore with loads of nice walks, cycle paths and interesting history to discover, and more recently one of the biggest success stories in Welsh tourism. Zipworld is located in the local quarry and is the fastest zip line in the world. It is one mile long and you can reach speeds of 100mph. It has become the must do adrenalin activity for thrill seekers from all over the world. Bethesda is also at the foot of the Ogwen Valley and on the border to the Snowdonia National Park. Stunning landscapes and majestic mountains are just a short walk away, great for those into fitness, photography or just fresh air and space to unwind. The town has a range of shops, pubs, takeaways and general amenities offering most of what you need and is a pleasant 10 minute walk through the woods. Jump in the car and you have a huge amount on offer. Head over to the beautiful beaches of Anglesey or visit some local towns like Beaumaris with its castle or Menai Bridge with Telford's suspension bridge. Of course there are many castles, try Caernarfon or Conwy and not forgetting Penrhyn Castle on the outskirts of Bangor just 10min drive. Loads to do, stay a few days, Enjoy!!
