I loved this place . It’s a safe place to
Stay as a single person or as a couple . It’s war , inviting, comfortable, sparkling clean , relaxed and we had a great nights sleep . We would recommend it to anyone taking a break in this area and will be returning. Easy parking and free right outside the house. Breakfast was excellent and tea and coffee was available at anytime.

When visiting Galashiels you would be advised to take a car if you can drive.
Although the buses are just as good but down load the borders bus app to your phone
I would also recommend down loading the scot rail train app

A lot to visit round here!
A lot to visit round here! We came primarily to visit the new custom-built museum that houses the Great Tapestry of Scotland. An amazing facility and display of the 160 tapestry panels. One visit is not enough.
Other than the museum, there are many other attractions - I guess Abbotsford House is one of the most significant. I visited a few years ago and it is well worth a visit.
Have a look at the Coulter's Candy statue in the centre of town.

Galashiels is central in the Borders and most venues can be reached in a car with in 1 hour . The town was well supplied with varied restaurants , and has a Wetherspoons . I was on a golf trip and all courses were well maintained and very welcoming . Thoroughly enjoyed my stay .

The surrounding countryside of Galashiels is beautiful, we had a lovely view from the window of our room.
The town centre has become a bit run down over the pandemic with quite a few shops closed now. The remaining shops are good and the staff helpful and pleasant.
Great transport links with the Borders railways and good bus service. Also a good few taxi services which were reasonably priced.
Local people very welcoming.
A rather splendid hotel in lovely grounds. Our room was spacious, well appointed and very comfortable (quite grand actually) with a view out over the Victorian (?) glass house. Food was very good indeed, both in the bar/restaurant and at breakfast (breakfast room looks out over garden and tables are set with table clothes). Extremely good value for money. We had booked the hotel as a stop over on a return home from Shetland via Aberdeen - but it would have been nice to have stayed for longer.
This is one of the few options for accommodation in Galashiels but the owners don't take advantage from it to cut corners.
I am not a big fan of this type of accommodations (B&Bs/Guest houses) but there is nothing wrong with this one, I cannot see how other "top notch" B&B's are better than this one.
The location is perfect, Galashiels is a small town and the place is a nice town surrounded by beautiful environment.
I can definitively recommend it.
The setting was lovely, however, it is rural. If you like quiet its perfect. Throughly enjoyed the surroundings. Galashiels is a nice town and we had a lovely Italian and Indian meal. The challet is warm and comfortable and has everything you need. Bedding and towels are good quality and spotless. The owners live near, they are discreet but helpful. My small dog was wellcome. We had a really nice stay
The hotel is absolutely gorgeous! It felt quite special to stay in such a beautiful manor. The breakfasts were exceptional - linen tablecloths and plated service. The best part was the kindness of the wonderful staff. Lene was a bright start to our day each morning. She was professional and happy to fulfill whatever we needed. We will definitely stay here again!
This works for an intimate getaway or a wedding or business event. Great meeting places and stunning gardens and surrounds. This lovely place is in the loving care of those who are gradually upgrading the historic property. The Scottish Borders hold some of the loveliest villages in the UK. GO. Fly fishing nearby on the lovely Tweed.
Thank you Dalvy for welcoming us into your home for our stay in Galashiels. The location of the property was perfect for our trip to the UCI event at Glentress, the accommodation very clean and well kept and Dalvy is a brilliant host, very welcoming, knowledgeable about the local area and very generous too. Would recommend.
Great host and fantastic place to stay. The shower is even better than the one I have at home. The whole place is spotless and to a higher standard than many hotels I have stayed in. Faultless. Great location for cycling the Coast and Castles route.
Conveniently located near the Galashiels train station, Monorene Guest house is an ideal and clean economical option for a short stay in the Scottish Borders. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Basic but very clean accommodations.
Pretty conveniently located with a few spaces for off street parking behind hotel. Good basic accommodation on 2nd floor. Host was accommodating to our lack of cell service/ non response to his messages and late arrival.
This was a beautiful little hotel. The view from the room was amazing through large bay windows onto the lawn and surrounding countryside. The staff were all wonderful, friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful.
An excellent place to stay in the centre of Galashiels. The flat is in a very good location with a big Tesco close by and also a Greggs for a bargain breakfast! The flat was clean, quiet and comfortable.
This is a beautiful hotel, close to the major route. The staff were very helpful, even preparing a bagged breakfast for me to suit my early departure. My room was like a fairytale chamber.
Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. Hotel is a short drive to a few different attractions and villages.
Food was very good both evening meal and breakfast spot on , staff was extremely friendly too always happy to help you , front of the hotel is beautiful
