Very quiet location. We didn't stay at Chambercoombe cottages - we only stayed at one of them - Laurel Dene so this only relates to that cottage. We slept really well. Cooking facilities excellent. Parking, whilst not at door, not far away and free and easy. Very pretty environment. Ideal for a couple or perhaps with one child. We walked a few times either into Ilfracoombe or to the bus - you have to be reasonably fit to do that though - the hills are a bit tough. Can recommend walking a section of the coastal path to Coombe Martin and getting the 301 back to the Thatched Inn. Then just a short walk up and down steep hills back to the cottage.

The coastal towns of Lynton and Lynmouth are 33 minutes’ away by car.
