Peterborough came across as poor and unloved.
I walked through the centre of town on a Wednesday night around 10:30 and did not feel safe - not normally affected like this.
There are groups of homeless people around the town, not necessarily bothering people but they need support and shouldn’t be left to roam the streets. Far more homeless here than anywhere I visited recently.
This was a work visit, I would not visit for pleasure

Beautiful cathedral, nice new shopping centre. The rest of the town a bit run down, many homeless people....
We should have gone for a curry instead of having dinner at the bull....
Hotel ideally located if you haven’t got much time, 5 minutes to cathedral nly!
Car park at the back of hotel convenient, too, but not easy to find

Peterborough not the best city in the world, but a few shops to mooch about it, and plenty of places to eat and drink. Mum and I took a trip to the cinema. Was nice. This hotel IS NOT in the town centre. Its a little drive. But that is what we wanted.

Cathedral area well worth a visit.
Cathedral area well worth a visit.
Nene Park area lovely with good flat walking and nice refreshments available. Excellent pitch n putt course.
Nene valley railway station at Peterborough worth a visit to eco garden area.
Plus train trips.
Flag fen on outskirts is definitely worth a look, really interesting and a nice walk too.
Like all cities there are some less charming areas! But some good cafes in town, Gossip good coffee and Fratellis in Rivergate for coffee and breakfast. Oh and East on the river for Asian fusion food and to sit in a boat!

There is a excellent centre that has a good variety of restaurants, shops and corner little shops. Named chains and independent retailers. There is also historical aspects if you want to know more about Peterborough's history. There are reasonable priced car parking places. If not wanting to drive the coach and train stations are very local if you want to leave the car at home!.
Easy check in., there was actually a friendly receptionist. on site parking. The hotel restaurant clsoed at 8 but it was a short walk to the River nene where there was an open air pizzeria and bars. very nice outdoors on a hot night. The hotel is fiveminutes walk from Peterborough United Football ground so thats a plus for visiting fans. Breakfast (extra payment) a good buffet. Lounge was airconditioned
Staff at the Ramblewood are great! It has a traditional pub feel and its great to see that, post covid, the menu is returning to what it used to be. For over 5yrs this has been my preferred hotel in Peterborough when I can get it within the company budget. I love running around Ferry Meadows just over a mile away and its only a couple of miles the way into the city centre.
Staff were lovely and helped us to relax. The room was basic but excellent value for money. Great breakfast. 2 restaurants on site and walking distance to others. It's a beautiful building set in beautiful grounds and easily accessible. Spa was great. Pool was a great size. Peterborough is great for eating and shopping too with a beautiful Cathedral.
Comfy, quiet room in pleasant near-to- woodland setting. Friendly reception staff and other guests. Nice large, modern reception area and plenty of parking. Pleasantly surprised with Peterborough city centre in evening with plenty of venues for eating out and,
likewise, restaurant in hotel also seemed well-used and welcoming.
It's a boutique hotel with interesting decoration in the common areas. We had a big room overlooking the main road and a church so it was bit noisy from traffic throughout the night but not excessively.
The Turkish restaurant downstairs does nice meals but you have to bring your own booze. Breakfast served in your room.
Good value for money, we chose the Pearl Hotel because it was by far the cheapest available in the area. It wasn't the most luxurious place, but for the price we paid we really can't complain. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning was fantastic in the current heatwave.
I loved the homely feeling rather than that of a hotel. Also Andi and Mark were so friendly and amazing hosts, the area was great with lots of places to eat and lovely walks and parks nearby. And Frankie was amazing too, hard not to be with a name like that.
Staff very friendly. Our room was big with a large bathroom.
The breakfast was very good
Our whole experience at this hotel was excellent and relaxing .we would recommend the hotel and plan to stay here again.
Room temperature was freezing with the out side temperature was minus 8 on 21st January, also bed smell in the room from the carpet or smoking even though hotel is non smoking
Very uncomfortable mattress
Stayed in Room 10 , lovley room ,well presented, clean and lots of tea and coffee.
Always use this hotel when in Peterborough not had a bad experience.
Value for money is exceptional.
This hotel surprised me. It was a great location with very good facilities. I was not familiar with Dragonfly hotels but will use this one again as we visit Peterborough twice a year.
Great hotel/coaching inn in the centre of Peterborough. Good sized car park to the rear. Has a bar. Nice breakfast and friendly staff. Its not the cheapest but quite a nice place
The staff were absolutely lovely! We were visiting family over Christmas and my daughter was given a Christmas present from the hotel! Food was good, and the pool was great!
Out of all hotels I stayed in Peterborough this is the best, as it provides high quality for reasonable price. And breakfast it definitely better than other hotels.
The location was about 25mins from where I needed to be in Peterborough but the rate was better than town hotels. Good sized room clean. Plenty of parking
