The apartment was perfect for our small group. Had everything we needed for the most part and was in close driving or walking distance to the town and easy access to the slopes. loved that the reception had a raclette machine for us to rent!

On arriving in Ax-les-Thermes via Andorra and turning their gaze to the left, visitors will find Les Chalets d’Ax. Set amongst pleasant green scenery and surrounded by pine trees, visitors can follow a shaded path from the residence to the Oriège River, or to the market place, cable car or thermal spa centre, all of which are a 15 minute walk away. Families and couples can also enjoy walks amongst the majestic trees in the attractive Parc du Teich, and a free shuttle bus service takes visitors to the cable cars during weekends and French school holiday periods.

The surrounding area boasts a variety of beautiful walks and routes towards the Orlu valley or the Vierge rocks, and all footpaths are well-marked and well-maintained. The mountain lakes and open spaces home to wildlife including marmots and Izards are just under 20 minutes’ drive from Ax-les-Thermes. Early risers should also head over to the Col de Pailhères pass and take in the breath-taking sunrise which is punctuated by the view of the mountains. In winter, visitors can make the most of the resort’s numerous snow shoe trails, and skiers can explore the slopes of the Ascou and Ax 3 ski domains.

    Free shuttles to the ski elevators run everyday during school holidays and on Saturday and Sunday.

    Guests are expected to clean the kitchenette and wash the dishes before check-out.
