Grasse is a historic perfume centre in south-east France.
Grasse is a historic perfume centre in south-east France. Perfume is the main focus of the town, with shops, museums and tours centred on its production. The Museum Fragonard is an interesting experience, to be recommended. The town is easy to walk round, though getting buses in and out of the town involve considerable walking. It can be busy with cars at times.

Grasse is a small town and we were there for almost two full days, that was at least a day and a half too long. It might be a place to base yourself if you had a car and you can easily get the train to Cannes or Nice, but then why not just stay in Cannes or Nice.

This vibrant and multicultural town has lots to offer the occasional traveller. The old quarter is highly recommended with its eclectic mix of shops, cafes and bars. Follow the brass plaques set into the streets to meander through the town, take in the cathedral and viewing point nearby. Parking is available but requires nerves of steel and is not cheap. Highly recommended is an Indian restaurant called Achiana, full of charm and character and excellent food.

the town is lovely, but to find an accomodation with a good parking in town is not easy as Grasse is up on the hill, with small streets and difficult to park on the streets, there is a multilayer Parking up on the square but all the 4 levels were full of cars, with no spots available, so parking is an issue.
Probably is better to visit the town during the day but is better to stay in a location outside Grasse, more comfortable

A lovely family-run hotel.
A lovely family-run hotel. It's in a beautiful location with a fabulous terrace which has a spectacular view. The food was very good as well. The family - all staff - were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. It was a delightful place all-round and we will definitely return.

Grasse has a lovely old town centre with narrow streets and steps in the alleyways. There's a useful 'Petit Train' tour for €7 with headphones and a tour in different languages. It lasts 45 minutes and we enjoyed it. There's a fine cathedral with paintings by Rubens.
We visited Fragonard perfumery and laboratory. Very interesting to see the history and how perfume evolved over the centuries. The tour was in French with no English but I enjoyed it as it was obvious what certain things were, although a quick sentence or two in English would be a help. There are info boards in the museums in French and English with old photographs and bottles. We were taken to the shop as the last stop where visitors could buy products from the company. The scents are really nice and I met someone today who still uses the same brand years later.
My one complaint is that it was difficult to find a restaurant in Grasse that had authentic French food. It's obviously a town packed with tourists and there were too many selling pizzas and chips. It is also hard to get a seat if you turn up late for lunch or dinner. Fragonard has a cafe up the hill from the museum and it was good for lunch.
The town is built on the side of a steep hill and wouldn't suit people who don't like walking. It is also extremely hot in July. There are buses into the town centre and the railway station has a service that runs to Cannes. We thought trains were good value in France.
Boun was a very nice host. We liked the view from the terrace where we had our breakfast. Our room was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Her breakfast was a mixture of different jams everyday. There was fresh bread every morning as well as pastries and fruits. It’s location is very close to the town of Grasse where we visited Fragonard perfume factory and boutique .It was also close to many cities we wanted to visit. All in all a perfect little gem.
A very nice apartment. It’s very quiet and surrounded with greenery. Follow the instructions for arrival of the owners because a road is closed. Everything you need is available. Coffee, tea, detergent, etc. There is a nice sitting area outside. It feels very safe. There is a closed parking lot. And the courtyard/garden of the apartment is also closed. You can walk to the center of Grasse. But coming back is uphill and quite a challenge.
This property is located in the perfect location if you are visiting grasse. It is literally two blocks from public parking and one block within the old town and close to all the restaurants and stores. You can’t find a better location. It was recently renovated, clean, had a washing machine and a clean bathroom. It was a wonderful surprise, and the house was very easy to communicate with, and she was at the location when we arrived.
The apartment was clean and tidy. It was fully furnished with dishwasher, hairdryer, coffee machine, stoves, pan, and so on. We were provided with a parking card that made parking near the apartment costless.
The owner helped us to find a really fine place for our dinner on Monday evening, as that is the the closure day for most of the shops in Grasse. She was very helpful.
Very friendly and professional staff. Terrific breakfast! Well worth the 15 euro charge. There's a great pizza restaurant just 200 meters away on the Main Street. The room price was affordable, and it was quiet for sleeping. The hotel let us store our bike box and a car bench seat for several days while we went up to Burgundy and Lyon.
Room, location everything was great ! Room was very clean and tidy ! And they have almost everything we didn't need to prepare lots of things ! Also when we need helpful something, all the time owner replied so quickly that is really helpful !
If we go to Grasse again definitely we will use again 😊
The welcome / depature was very friendly and umcomplicated. Thank you Chris :-)The house is very nicely furnished and the garden with the jacuzzi is fantastic. We really enjoyed our first stay in Grasse. We need to improve our french!

Lovely to be away from the cities
Amazing views from our room and on the balcony where a lovely breakfast was included
Free parking close by
Grasse town centre was also lovely and well worth a visit to wander round and go to the perfume factory
The location and decor was absolutely lovely. Very comfortable and breakfast was really nice. Perfect bed and breakfast in Grasses. Was great to have parking option. Highly recommend and hope to come back
Family run hotel. They were welcoming, friendly and helpful. They even provided an evening meal as most other places in the town were shut. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.
Perfect location and well appointed apartment for an overnight in Grasse. Our host was so welcoming and very helpful. We appreciated the extra touches like coffee & tea & laundry machine
The room was comfortable and of a good size. The hotel's location was excellent, I couldn't have wished for a better place where to be based during my stay!
Alright listen I love perfumery I love Grasse I love FRANCE.
