Grasse is a historic perfume centre in south-east France.
Grasse is a historic perfume centre in south-east France. Perfume is the main focus of the town, with shops, museums and tours centred on its production. The Museum Fragonard is an interesting experience, to be recommended. The town is easy to walk round, though getting buses in and out of the town involve considerable walking. It can be busy with cars at times.

Grasse is a small town and we were there for almost two full days, that was at least a day and a half too long. It might be a place to base yourself if you had a car and you can easily get the train to Cannes or Nice, but then why not just stay in Cannes or Nice.

This vibrant and multicultural town has lots to offer the occasional traveller. The old quarter is highly recommended with its eclectic mix of shops, cafes and bars. Follow the brass plaques set into the streets to meander through the town, take in the cathedral and viewing point nearby. Parking is available but requires nerves of steel and is not cheap. Highly recommended is an Indian restaurant called Achiana, full of charm and character and excellent food.

the town is lovely, but to find an accomodation with a good parking in town is not easy as Grasse is up on the hill, with small streets and difficult to park on the streets, there is a multilayer Parking up on the square but all the 4 levels were full of cars, with no spots available, so parking is an issue.
Probably is better to visit the town during the day but is better to stay in a location outside Grasse, more comfortable

A lovely family-run hotel.
A lovely family-run hotel. It's in a beautiful location with a fabulous terrace which has a spectacular view. The food was very good as well. The family - all staff - were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. It was a delightful place all-round and we will definitely return.

Grasse has a lovely old town centre with narrow streets and steps in the alleyways. There's a useful 'Petit Train' tour for €7 with headphones and a tour in different languages. It lasts 45 minutes and we enjoyed it. There's a fine cathedral with paintings by Rubens.
We visited Fragonard perfumery and laboratory. Very interesting to see the history and how perfume evolved over the centuries. The tour was in French with no English but I enjoyed it as it was obvious what certain things were, although a quick sentence or two in English would be a help. There are info boards in the museums in French and English with old photographs and bottles. We were taken to the shop as the last stop where visitors could buy products from the company. The scents are really nice and I met someone today who still uses the same brand years later.
My one complaint is that it was difficult to find a restaurant in Grasse that had authentic French food. It's obviously a town packed with tourists and there were too many selling pizzas and chips. It is also hard to get a seat if you turn up late for lunch or dinner. Fragonard has a cafe up the hill from the museum and it was good for lunch.
The town is built on the side of a steep hill and wouldn't suit people who don't like walking. It is also extremely hot in July. There are buses into the town centre and the railway station has a service that runs to Cannes. We thought trains were good value in France.
Everything! I was very skeptical about staying in an apartment with the hosts present, but it was one of the best decisions I made on this trip. Amazing people. From the night I arrived, they offered to pick me up, upgraded my room at no extra charge, ordered me dinner and were just absolutely amazing all round. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I can’t rave about them enough. And then there’s the beautiful apartment with absolutely stunning views of Grasse. You can’t visit Grasse and stay anywhere else.
The hotel is okay. The rooms are adequate size. There are amenities available, such as a kitchen, bathroom with shower, etc. There are towels provided and bedsheets. There is furniture in the room. The hotel itself has a dining area in the first floor, and breakfast is available for an additional 10 euros. The front entrance requires remote entry with use of a code. The staff are nice and even though they do not provide 24-hour staff at the front desk, they are available by phone if needed.
A very nice apartment. It’s very quiet and surrounded with greenery. Follow the instructions for arrival of the owners because a road is closed. Everything you need is available. Coffee, tea, detergent, etc. There is a nice sitting area outside. It feels very safe. There is a closed parking lot. And the courtyard/garden of the apartment is also closed. You can walk to the center of Grasse. But coming back is uphill and quite a challenge.
This property is located in the perfect location if you are visiting grasse. It is literally two blocks from public parking and one block within the old town and close to all the restaurants and stores. You can’t find a better location. It was recently renovated, clean, had a washing machine and a clean bathroom. It was a wonderful surprise, and the house was very easy to communicate with, and she was at the location when we arrived.
Excellent value for money, great staff all smiles. I enjoyed my stay a lot. In the heat, AC was very much appreciated. Apartments have a small fridge which helps a lot.
The separation between the room and the bathroom and exit area does wonders reducing the noise. There was none during my stay.
Hotel is very close to bus station to Cannes and Antibes.
Great amenities, great people, comfy and clean. Highly recommended
Continental breakfast included a variety of food to choose from. Stayed in the hotel for dinner. Good value and included a choice of wine. The room was clean, warm and great views. Staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Parking on site. Check in was smooth and we were let in the room earlier than expected.
It is a great hotel to sleep and catch up on jet lag. Unfortunately there wasn’t a lot nearby but I did Uber eats for meals. The breakfast in the morning was decent serving coffee , fruit , bread , yogurt , cheese eggs , and some deli meat. The front desk staff were great and their English was good.
It’s a beautiful small cabana with everything you need, very clean, very quiet. The view is magical on one side the sea and on the other Grasse. The pool area is very beautiful and invites to enjoy the view. The host are super friendly and helpful. We loved our time there.
Fabulous stylish apartment in the centre of the beautiful town of Grasse - All mod cons as well as an air conditioning unit which was essential in this heatwave - Fiona gave me such a warm welcome & was super helpful - Highly recommend this lovely little bolthole!
Beautiful apartment in the heart of Grasse! We loved looking out the window! The apartment was an easy walk from the entrance to Grasse. We will recommend it to our friends and we hope to return one day! Thank you for our wonderful stay! Everything was perfect!
Everything was top notch! Georges and Valerie are very nice hosts and the apartment was everything we expected. . Quiet, comfortable and clean, super well equipped, we could not have asked for more!! We will return for sure at our next stay in Grasse.
A lovely place to stay with a very friendly and helpful owner. Great base to visit the French Riviera - Menton, Cap d'Antibes and explore Grasse. So much to see but not enough time to see it all. Plan to return
The location and decor was absolutely lovely. Very comfortable and breakfast was really nice. Perfect bed and breakfast in Grasses. Was great to have parking option. Highly recommend and hope to come back
The Effort made to come early for check in

Nice little outside area with lovely orange tree.
The room was comfortable and of a good size. The hotel's location was excellent, I couldn't have wished for a better place where to be based during my stay!
