Easygoing and green, Nantes is the gateway to the Loire Valley. On a delta between the Loire, Erdre and Sèvre rivers, this once important port is now an innovation pioneer.
A former shipyard, the Île de Nantes in the Loire now has bars, clubs and restaurants. However, its most intriguing feature is the Machines of the Isle of Nantes, a collection of weird and wonderful mechanical sculptures – you can even take a ride on the elephant.
Across the river is the moat-surrounded Chateau des Ducs de Bretagne, a fortified castle and former home of Breton Dukes. A few streets away is Nantes Cathedral, whose façade is reminiscent of the one in Reims. Place du Bouffay in the historic city center is home to many restaurants and bars, while the 19th-century shopping center Passage Pommeraye has a range of stores over 3 levels. For a taste of daily life head to Talensac market.
Other Nantes attractions are the Japanese Garden at Île de Versailles in the Erdre, the former shipowners’ houses at Île Feydeau, and the Jules Verne Museum, celebrating the city’s most famous son.
Don’t head to Nantes Airport from your Booking.com hotel, apartment or B&B without having tried the local speciality – crêpes. Delicieux!

The Chateau of the dukes of Brittany is a first class tourist attraction a two minute walk from the hotel. There is an excellent museum of the history of Nantes and an unmissable exhibition about Genghis Khan. There are no translations from the French - but Genghis Khan has an English audio guide.
We also enjoyed hanging out in the Botanical Gardens also a short walk away.
Nantes has amazing public transport with five tram lines. They are free on Saturdays and Sundays!

I went by train specifically to visit an exhibition at the Chateau and the hotel was perfectly placed both for that and the railway station.
The restaurant I had chosen proved too far for this weary traveller. I ate near the Chateau at La Loco (recommended by the hotel). Largely a fish menu; what I ate was freshly prepared and perfectly cooked.

Nantes is a very photogenic city with great architecture and fabulous river views. It has a good selection of high street and independent shops and restaurants with cuisines from across the world. The trams are reasonably priced and are free to use at the weekend. The Jardin des Plantes is lovely to stroll around, showcasing so many different plants and trees. Nantes is well worth a visit.

Nantes is a wonderful hidden gem of a city.
Nantes is a wonderful hidden gem of a city. Not too touristy. good food, great shopping, easy to get around with walking, tram, or bus. The museums are the perfect size, the botanical garden is a wonderful break (with a delicious cafe), and there are many sidewalk cafes and restaurants.

It was stop for one night to go to Renesfrom England.
It was stop for one night to go to Renesfrom England. Took a uber for 20 mins to get to the hotel through the industrial area of course not so beautiful.
At night walked out of hotel for dinner, very quiet and most of shops closed causing darkness. As a woman walking alone wasn’t comfortable.
However, in the morning took a tram to go to the train starting was very convenient and people are so kind.
Breakfast not included (was a coffee machine but no milk). great location a short distance off a main road, in a small square next to St Nicolas Basilica. I had an unexpected treat from a long and harmonious peal of church bells. About 20 minutes walk from Nantes SNCF station, I easily caught a bus there at 07.00 for E1.80 and a shuttle E10 from there to the airport. Many bars and cafes nearby, would be a good centre to see the city if you can't afford anything more comfortable than this cramped little flat.
It was well located, about 10 minutes walk from the train station and & similar distance to centre of town. It is by the banks of the Loire offering good views of the river. The receptionist was friendly and ready to offer advice and assistance when needed. The breakfast was great and adequate. Furthermore, the room had an adequately equiped kitchen in case one wanted to make a meal. They also supplied some tea and coffee in the room, which was great. It isnt very common in this covid era.
Great location in a quiet street in Nantes town centre and close to the main train station. Amazing bathroom, with a huge bath, Amazon shower and heated towel rail- probably better than high end hotel bathrooms I’ve stayed in! Heating in the apartment was easy to control. Good cooking facilities and, all in all, perfect accommodation for a short break for two. The host Elise was extremely helpful and answered any questions we had almost immediately.
The hotel looked nice and the staff was very friendly. Everything was clean and they only exchanged the towels we asked for during our stay. The breakfast was good. It included scrambled eggs, sausages and potatoes. It had air condition and a Private parking garage for a reasonable price and they accepted a reservation for it. The reception is 24/7. The hotel is next to the city centre so sight-seeing is very easy starting from the hotel.
The appartment was bigger than expected. Very welcoming, clean with excellent facilities. The balcony was nice. Lidl and a boulangerie near was very convenient. The appartment was easy to get to and from using the local transport. A regular bus service to centre of Nantes about a 10 minute walk from the appartment. Nantes is a wonderful place with so much to see and do. Be sure to try the local Gallettes. Delicious.
Excellent location 5 mins walk from the station and 10 mins walk into the centre of the city. The staff were friendly. The rooms are mini apartments with a large bathroom, small studio bedroom with kitchenette, 2 plate stove, mini-dishwasher, crockery and cutlery, kettle and fridge as well as TV, small table and 2 chairs. Ideal to self-cater for a short time. The apartments are dated but comfortable and clean.
We stayed at the hotel as a stop off after arriving in Nantes airport. It is a very convenient hotel with some good facilities. It is nothing luxurious but it was a great first night of our holiday. The hotel had a car park, which was really helpful. The on-site restaurant was super for dinner and breakfast was really good. We were served by Betty, a fabulous member of staff who absolutely made our stay!
it is very central and right next to a tram stop for easy access to the sights. The hotel is very modern, nicely decorated and has a great bar and lounge. the room was a decent size, nice clean bathroom, air conditioning, hairdryer and very comfortable beds. great value for money.
The hotel is very well located, in front of the central train station. I asked for a quiet room and I got one, on a higher floor over a side street -- it was perfect. The price is very reasonable for a downtown hotel. The single room was small but clean, and nothing was missing.
Very clean hotel and very convenient, the lounge facilities were excellent we had a lovely hour of relaxing 5-6pm before catching our taxi back to the airport. The receptionist Florian was excellent he gave us some great tips for some sight seeing in Nantes.
location was in the old part of town and close to the station so perfect for location for access to the airport shuttle, taxis and for many of the sights in Nantes such as the Cathedral, Chateau and the beautiful Jardins des plants.
Great location, nice rooms with perfect temperature and comfortable beds. Having the parking downstairs was awesome. The hotel is at a walking distance to the city centre and important atttractions. Will definitely recommend!
Clean, nice location and staff were very nice! Friendly and helpful. Bed was really comfy!
The nicest hotel we’ve staying in France to da and we’ve stayed in quite a few all over France!
